what is behind the battery cover? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

Sorry if this question is answered else where:
When you take the cover off, there is something behind it.What is the metal thing on the back of the battery cover?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say antenna

It is the NFC antenna.
It is not in use on stock AT&T phones, but you can use it on most of the custom ROMs.

OP, I have a similar question. Could you take the cover off and try making a call? I want to know if that's the NFC antenna or for the cellular network. thanks

It's the nFC antenna

NFC antenna! Internation Note does not have this antenna nor does it have NFC capabilities.

Stop askin, its the NFC antenna. If you buy one of the flip cover cases or even look them up on ebay etc it will tell you its the NFC antenna. Case closed!

Thank you all for the answer

Back Cover

I was just wondering if the back cover for the international GS2 will fit the AT&T GS2? I was considering getting a metal back plate, but was not sure if it would fit or not.
it will not. I believe some of the tabs on the back are different.
Nope it will not, already been discussed in the accessories section.

Would you kindly post post a link to where you bought your extended battery? I would be very interested in one with a properly fitted back plate.

Anybody know where to get replacement back cover?

Hey y'all I just got the carbon blue at&t note and had it in my pocket at work and the original back cover got scratched, does anyone know where I can find a replacement the same as the one that comes with the phone with the GALAXY NOTE logo on it...thanks in advance
No, but I'd like to know this as well as two of my lock tabs that keep the back cover secure were molded incorrectly and it doesn't fit as snugly as I'd like it to.

I'm pretty sure those won't fit the ATT I717 Note. And they have no NFC.

Nfc antenna transfer

So the case I am using replaces the back cover. I don't use nfc much, but am I able to just peel the antenna off of the old cover and slap it on the new

I don't think you can peel it off and itll work perfectly cause you could mess it up easily. There are eBay sellers who sell the sticker though and its relatively cheap.
What back are you using though? If its metal the NFC won't work anyway.

Brushed Metal Back Replacement Cover

Anyone tried this? Seems like an interesting concept...to replace the back cover with a metal one. Wont do much by way of protection but would definitely suit those who want a high end feel without adding to the bulk...
http://www.amazon.in/Samsung-Galaxy...qid=1385310988&sr=8-13&keywords=galaxy+note+3
Main antenna resides on the bottom back, gps on the top back - NFC will be broken and reception will be slightly lower.
Nope.
retro...Note 2 copycat
same as note 2 faux brushed metal plastic battery cover.. No thanks..scratch easy, moving forward...
Same as the metal backs for any other Samsung phone, just looks cheap to me. The official samsung ones look good but most people don't have access to those.

The Samsungs ones aren't metal so that's probably not gonna help you at all. They're just colored and glossy-ish

Waterproofness

Hi guys, I recently felt that my phone was weird. The back was able to be pressed in further and squeaked when I applied pressure on it. Will this affect the waterproofness of the phone? This has been going on for quite some time now. Is it that the glue isn't strong anymore or is it just the nature of the construction of the phone?
My old phone did the same but it was 100% fine around water for over a year

I actualy have no idea
I thought it may be something to do with the battery or vibrator motor.

Thanks again, i think battery is moved a little an then return to its proper site when I pressed it… is it important to repair? If the back cover opened, water resistance has been gone?!
