Root phone - install CWM - backup your present rom with CWM - download required rom - wipe/factory reset phone - flash rom. If previous tut was vague there are others search.

Phone is already rooted and I know how to install ROMS thats easy i'm talking about installing a recovery like clockworkmod recovery 5.0.2.6 I think is the latest

Flashing RR

Hi guys, i just got a S2 from a relative of mine and i'm quite new to the flashing and stuff for S2. P.S (My previous device was much more easier).
And so i decided to try out RR (Resurrection Remix). I was on 4.1.2 stock, so i tried to root via, both, Siyah and Dorimanx. After rooting them, boot up, i then proceed on to flash RR and GAPPS. But it didn't work. So, how do i exactly go about flashing RR?
Did i do something wrong? Can someone help me a bit?

Me personally prefer Philz kernal which adds a great CWM with the option to delete all data for installing a new rom
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1877270
Are you sure you have downloaded RR for your i9100 variant?

I'm sure I did. So you suggest me using Philz kernel to root my phone? Does it work on the Jb 4.1.2 stock?

Yes m8, it is for samsung/based roms.
After rooting my phone with Philz kernel, I can proceed on with flashing any ROM?

Yes m8. Make sure you read the install instructions on the OP of the rom. Cyanogenmod you flash the rom then wipe data where with neatrom you wipe data first. If you have to wipe data after flash dont select the option to wipe all data to install a new rom. Philz kernal is only for samsung stock/based roms so dont put on RR. When you flash RR it will put their kernal on during flash.

Have you rooted you phone? And got CWM(clockworkmod) recovery?
If so just download the rom, place it on you sd card, boot into recovery and follow the steps in my previous post.
If you not rooted or dont have CWM recovery got to the link below and download the zip file which will then both root and give you CWM.

Yes, I had similar experience when I started flashing roms on i9100. Stick with it, it really is worth it and once you get the first one you will realise just how easy it is.
Check this post out for detailed info

maybe try a different ROM, PAC or Carbon work well imho.
good luck

Do you still remember how flash custom roms all the way from the beginning at stock? I've been doing it for days and all the roms seem to boot forever

ive already made a zip file u can flash using ur current cwm. which is what i linked........and its odd that digix would show u a thread of something ive went ahead and did for u. maybe he should check out my response before repeating wut ive already said.
just download my zip. boot to clockwork mod. flash the zip. reboot and u should be able to flash the current cm11 -whatevers. if u want to revert back to cm 10.2 or earlier then flash ur previous cwm reboot and ur fine. wish people would just make a flipping file for people to flash instead of giving them a run around ALL THE TIME (aka long drawn out and most times incomprehensible instructions).

[Q] How can I restore stock rom and recovery for Cubot One?

Hello, I flash my Cubot with CWM recovery and then installed MIUI 3.12.13 (JB 4.2.1) from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2412068.
Now what I need is to restore the stock rom with the most smooth room that I had read is V0.4.
I don't know if I can install stock rom from CWM recovery or I need to get the stock recovery. I don't really know the steps to do that so I would appreciate a lot if someone can guide me or post a Tutorial.
Thanks

[Q] Updating CMW5.5.0 to newest CMW

Hello
I want to flash to new Archdroid ROM onto my Samsung Galaxy S III 9300.
From the info i found on this forum, i have to update my CMW505 to the newest version.
Is this possible by flashing the cwm-touch-i717-6043.zip file with the current installed cwm version? Or do i have to use Odin to instal the new version? ive been searching for it, but found no clear answer so far.
Thanks in advance.

i717? it is a at&t note! don't flash a galaxy note recovery on a galaxy s3, this could break your hardware!!!
in fact if you flash archidroid it will give you the option to flash the newest philz touch recovery (it is based on cwm with extra features). after selecting this option in aroma it will reboot your recovery and you will have the latest one, after that you can flash archidroid without problems.
btw: there is a q&a thread for archidroid

But flashing archidroid or any other latestrom requires minimum 6.0.4.4 Cwm so he can't flash it until he is on that our newer.

[Q] how do I install a recovery on D9503?

Hello everyone,
I updated to the latest version 6.0.1. 572
I also unlocked the Bootloader and rooted with King root (Temporary root)
But what I can't boot to the stock recovery, and whenever I try to, it automatically boots to system
And I tried to install twrp, I ended up getting it soft bricked and I had to reinstall lastest firmware
So, is there any way I can install a custom recovery?
Thanks
Do not use standalone recoveries at the moment. Use ROMs that has recovery else you'l end up in bootloop.
For now, rcovery fix is an issue with 6.0.1. So i suggest you simply stick with a ROM like Existenz MM V1 or any other, by downgrading and installing recovery with root AND then flashing 6.0.1(with recovery & root). That way you can have recovery.
I too am waiting for a recovery fix so just managing without recovery for now as non of the fixes are working for me.
Good Luck buddy!

Well, thanks for the help, downgraded to 5.1.1 (or should I downgrade to something more older?)
But I need help to choose a custom kernel (I know how to flash kernels using fastboot ) can you suggest me a kernel that has a custom recovery
Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk
5.1.1 is fine as you can root it. Just install Recovery( nuts dual recovery/ choose your version carefully & Follow instructions). if you'r going to upgrade to 6.0.1, i would suggest this kernel -http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2965480.
Just follow the instructions carefully and you'l be fine.
BTW, if you only want recovery, you can easily install in 5.1.1 after geting it rooted using kingroot.

After converting from kingroot to SuperSU (permanent root) and flashing dual recovery, then flashing a prerooted 6.0.1 ROM, now I have everything I need :good: :victory:
