So I read that Demolition Inc is on sale for. 99cents:
Demolition Inc. THD is on sale for 75% off http://www.tegrazone.com/news/demoincsale
I go to buy it, and Google Play says my RAZR isn't compatible... I go to Tegra Zone, and it says it can't find a Tegra chip... WTH?!
I'm on the OG ICS leak (not 84 or 85) and I've purchased other Tegra specific games before... I don't get it... I wanna blow some s#!t up, but apparently my processor was swapped out for a lesser chip while I was sleeping?

It has a TI OMAP. No Tegra.
So if the game really needs either the processor specifically or the GPU in a Tegra, no dice. Chances are it need the GPU which is not in the OMAP.
If it were just the processor, it would work.
I Googled 'DROID razr graphics processor' and came up with this:
"The Droid Razr runs the TI OMAP 4430 chipset coupled with a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processing unit (GPU)"
No mention of tegra.

What's the deal? The gingerbread version of blur for the D3 is so much nicer then the DX2.
One thing I have learned from being with Verizon many years. Just always expect to be disappointed when it comes to software updates of any kind! Cause in the end you will be.
That's the 2.3.4 blur version, we're only on 2.3.3. That's why.

The Photon 4G is 2.3.4 but is the same "blur" experience as ours. My guess it is because both are Tegra 2 not T.I. Dual Core.

I agree but they haven't put 1080p recording on the Tegra2 phones either, so it might be related to the version of Blur. There is a hack for the Atrix though. So Tegra2 can do it but they just don't trust it I guess.

I don't understand all of the hate towards the tegra chip. From what I read, the T.I. is definitely better - but would I be out of line saying comparing the two is like comparing a PS3 vs. XBox 360? Fanboys in every corner?

I don't know if the love is mutual anymore. The delay of the Bionic has to be frustrating to both sides. 4G Moto on AT&T (4G by name only) and Sprint before Verizon. If anything I think Samsung is now VZWs Android manufacturer of choice.

On paper The OMAP is better then the Tegra, but all the real world tests, the Tegra is coming out on top.
Ok so I just went to the verizon store and played with the droid bionic and i just want to know like I know different carriers so there's gunna be minor differences but can anyone tell me why the bionic is so much caer than the photon if they have the same processor and internals like the bionic is lightning fast and the version of blur is so much better like why do sprint phones always get the **** end if the stick the epic was a epic fail the hero stupid slow the evo sucked all these "top of the line phones" in sprints lineup is always inferior to verizon and att and sometimes even tmobile like wtf why is sprint suing so bad right now the first 4g carrier was also the first carrier to STOP rolling out 4g its pathetic I know this is a rant but it also is a legitimate question so if someone could please answer the first part or as much as you can I'd appreciate it thanks a lot

Pretty much the same phone on a different network. I find that the Photon feels better in the hand than the Bionic. like the fact that the Photon is a world phone as opposed to a Bionic.
Question. Are you randy40? The one that posted the not sure thread. You both write the same. Just sayin
*sticks nose in air turns head.....Ok i'll be the first to answer your question with common s.......
Ok it's simple, VERIZON has all that money to hype their phone and sway people to belive this and that, also simply because it's on verizon's LTE aka faster than sprints wimax they say so just those 2 reasons kind of put you in mind of wanting to get ANY 4g phone from Verizon rather than sprint......other than that BIONIC kind of sounds badas if you will, most of these websites hypes the bionic a lot too, I guess they just love them some Verizon over Sprint.
Thanke' you

They aren't the same phone and they don't have the same specs.
The obvious
Motoblur(Poton) vs Motorola UI(Bionic)
The motorola redesigned it's user interface in order to make it faster, more user friendly and utilizeless resources. The Motorola UI is also present in the Droid 3 phones.
The not so Obvious
Tegra 2 (Photon) vs TI OMAP4 (Bionic)
Tegra 2 is unique because it has what is called an Ultra Low Power (ULP) GPU. It essentially has to GPUs where if it doesn't need to push itself, the ULP would kick it as a result saving a lot of battery power.
The TI OMAP4 doesn't have a feature like that it has something different. It has a dual channel and it is dual threaded. It is the only dual threaded processor on the market. It is in a way the only true dual core processor on the market.
The quadrant test out there are only designed to test a single core and a single thread, so therefore not accurate.
I'm not impressed about the SGS2 quadrant score because it is a single Thread processor.
Most people aren't aware of the differences, but now your informed.

Sent from my MB855 using xda premium
What is the OP talking about? Droid Bionic is almost the same as the Photon but the Photon wins based on a very extensive and detailed dog fight:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlH5l-z4dYk
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txRW-7cGe9Q
It loses in the WiMax vs LTE and 720 vs 1080... but that doesn't mean the phone is ****... The quadrant score is substantial... The phone itself is king.
No... I'm positive I have it right. The mooblur is the old. motor UI is the New. The Droid 3 was the first phone to receive it.
Sent from my Xoom using xda premium
The quadrant score doesn't mean anything if it only test one core, one channel, and one thread.
Sent from my Xoom using xda premium
I got rid of most of the sprint crap, and used Shabby's little trick to use both cores, and overclocked it, and the phone is pretty snappy for me. I haven't messed with the Bionic, so I can't really give an opinion on that, but those are the things i've done to make mine improved. And I enjoy it. :]
According to Motorola the Photon does not have Motoblur.
The EVO was crap?? A matter of opinion for sure and you would be in the minority.

It doesn't mean anything to overall performance.
But if 1 core, 1 channel, 1 thread on the photon is faster than 1 core, 1 channel, 1 thread on another dualcore chip at the same frequency.. then it means a lot

NVIDIA Tegra 2 vs TI OMAP 4
I greatly recommended NVIDIA Tegra 2 because most of the new revolution game for android support tegra 2...
and the hardware is stable also...many bug fix to that hardware.
Although I have uk version of the thrill I would recommend the atrix as unless you like 3D its better overall with twice the ram which makes it more future proof as the 512mb can be restrictive.

I have my eyes on the Evo Lte but..kinda worried guys this phone will get outdated soon?
How long will the Evo Lte last in till it gets owned by some other phone?
I just hope its not like last year.
you guys remember the Evo 3d last year?
2-3 months after its release Galaxy S2 came out with better specs making the Evo 3d look out dated.
Now lets fast forward to today.
LG has a rumored device coming to sprint.
look at these amazing spec guys:
4.67-inch (1280×768) LCD TFT display,
1.5 GHz Qualcomm quad-core Krait processor
Adreno 320 GPU
2GB of RAM
2100 mAh battery
13-megapixel camera
NFC
Damn. wowsers is right.
http://briefmobile.com/lg-ls970-eclipse-coming-with-1-5-ghz-quad-core-krait-cpu
Rumors say its coming this year?!
So I guess my question is the Evo Lte good enough (Future proof) to compete for the rest of the year?
That's technology bud. Everything gets bested eventually. In the end the biggest factor is user experience, and if you're a flashaholic like most people here, the development community. As far as the rumored LG phone goes, based on the specs alone, I would probably get it. However, LG isn't exactly known for timely updates.

They may not be dual core just because of LTE. It's still a krait processor. I thought I read somewhere that all of the new krait processors have LTE built in. I could be wrong but I thought I read that somewhere.

One version, sounds like Apple's philosophy. As the others have said, and to add a bit of confusion, the international One X has the Tegra 3, the One XL has the S4. The US One X has the S4. All this after HTC's big announcement about fewer phones and variations on phones. It's not quite as bad as Motorola though with the Razr, Razr Maxx, and the upcoming Razr HD, why couldn't they have just come out with all that in one phone.
As for the unified HW design, it would be nice if there were some standardized specs just to encourage companies to make more aftermarket accessories Android compatible.
