I am aware that the touchpad has wifi issues, but really at this point I am clueless.
Let me tell you, I was on CM9 with no mod's (e.g. rohan's) I had this app called WiFi fixer which "FIXED" from time to time. Me being curious about cornerstone I decided to try it, oh and WiFi wasn't really that buggy for me on this CM9.
I flashed the CM9 with cornerstone, and I got in a bootloop (ugh!) I forgot to do a backup (UGH!). Okay! Most stuff is in my download folder and I can use my phone's TB to get most of my app's back. I wiped all my stuff and reflashed, and here comes the problem. My WiFi never wants to turn on again. I tried rohan's mod, the new wifi driver (forgot it's name). With or without cornerstone. (latest CM9 nightly). I did found my router for a moment yesterday but it disappeared rather quickly when I manged to try to login to my google account.
In short, my WiFi is really buggy and doesn't want to turn on. Any advice someone?
BTW, WebOS works fine with WiFi

GTab running CM v7.0.3 Harmony.
WiFi just stopped working correctly out of nowhere. It'll go from "Scanning...", to "Connecting...", to "Disconnected", in an endless loop without ever actually connecting.
I tried just rebooting, and nothing. Tried even flashing back to stock (two different versions), then to the latest Nightly, then back to v7.0.3, then did a restore (just to get back to where I was), and all of them had the same issue. None of them had the ability to connect, and still with that same looping.
I even tried some program I found called "WeFi". No go with that either.
I've had this tablet since the 19th, working perfectly. On CyanogenMod7 the whole time. No major changes were made to the system.
Does anyone know of a fix or something that could get me back to functional WiFi?
I'd appreciate the help.
Thanks.
I realize this is not the correct section for this thread but id like to say yours is not an isolated issue. It happened to me with Vegan-Gingerbread edition and i flashed all the way back to Belkins 1.0 2638 (nvflash) and its still doing it.
Strangely enough, it works from my home but will NOT work at hotels airports etc (even though my my lap tops and phones etc will connect from those same locations. This has rendered my gtab nearly useless (without wifi its useless) even though i am familiar with nvflash and trying different roms..i have no idea why the wi-fi keeps looping into this "dead" behavior......
Delete...wrong thread. Lol
Strange, just recently I noticed the same thing, but mine tends to drop connection when using wireless tether via my phone. Even though wifi says connected any apps utilizing wifi will not connect. I have to shut off wifi & then turn it back on only to have it drop once more in less than 5 min. I know it's not the phones end because I can wifi tether to my laptop with no problems & I'm able to connect to my home wifi with no problems as well.
I'm running the latest nightly build of CM7 & have been using it since it was pushed out (June 25th I believe). No other ROM updates other than the usual app updates have been installed. This has been going on for about a week now.
No wifi on CM 7
Me too wi fi on the GTAB running CM7 died today. All other computers are connected.
miracle...now working.
Someone wrote me a PM and made a suggestion to delete user. I tried that, and removed my home network from the list. I also did a hard reset on my router.
The next day, it just worked. So who the hell knows. I'm glad in any case.
Hi guys,
First of all, I am quite new with Rooting, and putting roms on my phone. But I really like it, so I'm doing a lot of research to it atm
Two days ago, I decided to put CM7.1 on my Desire HD, together with the LorDModUE V8.1 kernel. Everything works just perfect, I really like it.
However, I do have one pretty big problem, and that has to do with wifi.
When I am upstairs, where my router is, my wifi works fine. But when I go downstairs, my wifi becomes ''unstable''. It still has connection with my router, but with a lower signal. Well, that isn't a problem really, but the problem is, is that my wifi signal becomes white after a while.
This still doesn't have to be a big problem, but for me it is, because my internet isn't working anymore, when I am having a white wifi signal! When I try to load a website on my phone, it just won't load. it is like it freezes, because it does not say I have no wifi signal.
So, I am still connected to my wifi, but it doesn't load any websites, or any other programs that require internet acces.
Then, when I reboot, it works fine again! but only for some time, it is really random.
This is only when I am downstairs. as I said, upstairs, at my router, it works perfectly.
What I already tried:
- Set my wifi options to static IP
- Downloaded wifi fixer
- reboot
- airplane mode
I really don't know where to find the solution. I could try to reinstall cm7.1, without that kernel, but I really like that kernel, so I prefer not to reinstall anything. But if that is really necessary, so be it
I would like to hear from you!
Niels
I think your problem is screen off and on, signal become white right?
If so, I think you forgotten to switch "WiFi sleep policy" to never in WiFi setting

Thanks for your quick reply, but that also does not help. I already tried that aswell, but I forgot to mention it.. it is already set to 'never'.. :/
HTC has better WiFi chips than Samsung.
Check with your kernels developers whether it has WiFi "N" router setting included. The "N" (larger WiFi range router support"

Hmm, It doesn´t seem to have that..
I guess I will have to reinstall cyanogen, and install a different/stok cm7 kernel then?
I made a screenshot on how it looks like, now it has a green connection, but the internet load bar sort of ''freezes''
* Oh, can't enter any link before I reached the 8th post >.<*
My sense wildfire has WiFi "N" rounter support in custom kernel

Just wanted to let everyone know that I updated my PRl and Profile and was on Wifi Hotspot at the time and then a thing popped up that said that wifi hotspot was not on my account and then it stopped working. Wifi tether still works, but I think i messed up by updating my prl while I was tethering. maybe they can detect it that way.
Edit: I rebooted a couple times and got it working. Don't know what happened.
Might have been a glitch with the rom. I'm using Viper Rom and haven't had that issue with any of their builds. Really the only problems I've had with my phone are because for a while every time I was switching Roms I'd use Titanium Backup to batch restore everything (300+ things) and there were certain files that kept corrupting the rom. Finally quit doing that and only restored the apps/data that I needed. Glad you got this fixed though because that is one thing I'm paranoid about!

yeah, i thought they had got me. I was using wifi hotspot and went to update Prl and then it said my plan didn't include the service. Scared the heck out of me, because it stopped working after that until i rebooted a couple times.
I installed CM9 alpha 0.03 and the wifi will not stay connected. The routers that worked perfectly with CM7 will not work with CM9, anyone else had/having trouble with wifi when using CM9?
Yes!! I had the same issue when I loaded it last night. went back to cm7 till the 3.0 kernal comes out.
Really, I haven't had this problem at all. Try turning the router. Also what wifi security type is it?

I rebooted the NT a couple times and so far (2 hours) the wifi is working as it should. I have been using this at work on two wireless routers and I'll be trying it at home soon. I'll keep my fingers crossed, I hope the wifi problem was temporary. I'm loving CM9 otherwise.
Edit: The wifi security is WPA2.
One little update on my wifi problem. The wifi was working perfectly at work and at home until I ran an app that needed the sd card mounted (I figured it was mounted at boot but it wasn't) so I removed/replaced the sd card and bam, the wifi stopped working. I repeated this 5 times, same result every time, so I need to find out what is causing this problem.
I'm having the same problem. My wifi drops out when I run certain apps. For me, it's dropped out when running Gmail or any mail app, and BBC World News app so far.
This was not a problem at all until I changed my email passwords. Probably a coincidence but it happened at the exact same time.
I'd just like to give an update to say that this randomly stopped happening as randomly as it started. I've no idea what the cause is.

I am also having a problem. I am running CM9 externally and my wifi was working great until one day it just would not turn on. I tried rebooting it to no avail. Wifi still works in CM7 and stock ROM. Anybody have an idea to fix it? Thanks.
External is susceptible to getting corrupted. I would backup by TiB folder first... then I would just reformat the card ( sdformatter 3.1 ) and re make it. Hey, try Jelly Bean !

Well I cleared data and reflashed. Everything is working again. Just curious, I thought the JB build for NT was still beta? And just to got totally noob on you, how would I flash it to a sdcard partition? Thanks for the help.

My bad. Jelly Bean is not 'external sd card' ready. Those guys are super smart, so maybe, hopefully, it will be soon.
.
I wonder if Succulent is working on it also ?
Ever since yesterday, I have been having problems with my Atrix. Yesterday, I was on CM7, but I switched over to beta 0.6.9.1 CM9 earlier today. I've had one problem that was started yesterday with CM7, and continued into CM7. It's my biggest issue:
My Wi-Fi does not work. Everytime I turn on the Wi-Fi to scan for networks, the subtext in Settings reads "Error". This is usually followed by the phone rebooting itself. This happened in both CM9 and CM7. I tried looking up this problem and didn't seem to find any similar cases. I think it's a faulty Wi-Fi radio, but I'm not entirely sure.
Everything else is problems with CM9. I've found answers on some, but I'll post them in case my information is incorrect/outdated:
1. Certain apps built in to the ROM crash frequently. This includes the Music app, Camera app, and Settings (not as frequently). The Camera app, from what I've read, is crashing for a lot of different people, so I'm not concerned about it. The Music app confuses me though, since it's only on certain albums that it crashes. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. But the album to the crashing of the app is always consistent.
2. I had installed the fingerprint-enabler.zip in CWM when I first installed CM9 and gapps, but when I go into the settings for sensor navigation, it tells me com.authentec.TrueSuiteMoble has stopped. Perhaps I either isntalled it wrong (I installed it as a .zip, just like CM9 and gapps) or it was a faulty zip, or outdated.
3. The volume up on the rocker does not work. When searching the Internet for CM9 files, I saw a .zip for a volume fix. I don't know if this is it, but I'm fairly certain it won't help, considering the volume up didn't work when I was in CWM either. If it's the rocker itself, which it most likely is, ignore this.
I'm pretty sure this is all my problems thus far. I'll update with fixes I find, or, hopefully not, more problems. Thank you all in advanced!

About your wifi. Is your Bluetooth working... if not then the broadcom chip is busted.
2. I think in they latest version you don't have to install the zip to make the sensor navigation to work.
