I've learned to just say yes to these people. you know let them learn a lesson.

I ended up ordering this one:
http://www.meritline.com/showproduc...battery-for-samsung-at-plus-t-galaxy-sii-i777
I was asking about the other one because it did not change the size of the phone.
How is this in the wrong thread? The link is for a battery. This is the accessories section. What gives, camp and Optimus-prime?

It's for T-Mobile... you're in the ATT forums.

The battery says for Tmobile; but I was asking if it will work with our ATT phones. A case for a Tmobile will work with an ATT phone. A charging cord for a Tmobile phone will work with an ATT phone. (I use the same charging cords for several phones.) A battery is not a case or a charging cord, and that is why I was asking if it will work with our phone. In reading other threads in this section (xda-developers>ATT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I77>AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Accessories) some batteries work, some do not. Some work with NFC some do not. Am I going to have to keep qualifying, or do I need to spoon feed everything!?!

Probably best to get products specifically labeled for SGH-I777 to be sure. Anything that doesn't say NFC battery will not let NFC work.
Otherwise, buy it and see. I just ordered a Q-Cell 3500 mAH battery with back cover and a Moretalktime case to fit the larger battery just to piss off a girl in my office since she got a RAZR Maxx. Mine's 200 mAH larger. Petty... Yes. Fun... Absolutely!
It also cost less in total than that slim battery.

Maybe it'll work, do you have the part number of the other battery?
All Galaxy S phones share the same battery. It'll work. Also, you can get Galaxy S batteries off Amazon.com for just about $5.
Work perfect ,even better that the vibrant battery because it lost longer it has more amps
great thanks guys for letting me know!

That's not entirely true, I have a fascinate battery and, while it works as good as any other galaxy s battery, it won't charge in the vibrant, I have to use an external charger!

Where can I get a Guaranteed OEM (Stock) battery?

I know there's tons of threads about the best replacement batteries and the best extended batteries, but I'm looking for OEM from Samsung, NFC capable batteries. I'm well aware that they won't be as cheap as the high-capacity ones, but I seem to have misplaced my OEM battery while swapping it out for my extended one.
I don't really want to trust Ebay, unless they're a 100% valid seller carrying OEM batteries which won't boot-loop.
Thanks.

You can't be much more guaranteed than straight from Samsung.
AT&T or Samsung.
I got an OEM stock battery from Amazon.com for $20 plus shipping. The seller is "Bluemail". It took about 2 weeks to get, but for $20, who could complain?

Well, I'm sure it'll "work" but it'll work just like all the other i9100 batteries work. Boot-Looping and no "NFC" label.
Can someone explain to me what the Label actually means? Is the NFC chip inside the battery, or does the battery just "allow" the waves to pass through it without any interference? If the latter, will non-oem batteries cause interference?
Also, I went ahead and bought theses:
http://www.all4cellular.com/samsung-eb-l1a2gba-battery.html
I'll let you guys know if they're OEM or not...
Thanks for all your help =D
I got this one with charger which doubles as stand (only for phone without case) for $30 a couple months ago. I can confirm that is same as stock (OEM with NFC).

Ok, thanks for that information.
I just got a reply from the seller. Here's what I asked, and the reply:
"Is this product: http://www.all4cellular.com/samsung-eb-l1a2gba-battery.html An OEM battery? As in, it was made by Samsung in Korea, allows USB charging, does not Boot-Loop, and is NFC capable?"
Answer:
"
Yes its an OEM Battery manufactured by Samsung in Korea, does support USB charger, doesnt Boot Loop and depending on your cellular device is compatible with Near Field Communication."

does anyone know what the model of the sprint samsung galaxy s3 is? im looking to order online for spare batteries but not sure if its the same as the asian/european versions?
Pretty sure it is the Samsung L710...
Or try SPH L710 WTK
EBay has some 2850mah (probably cheap 2100mah) So I ordered one just to get the external charger. I the. ordered a real Samsung 2100mah battery. I'll have a review when I run the 2850mah for a week.

Yeah, if its for any version of the S3 it will fit. Just be aware that the eBay batteries probably do not support NFC.

Google Wallet Activation and Non-NFC Batteries
So we need stock batteries in order to use NFC. I wasn't aware of that when I ordered some cheap batteries with charger on ebay a couple of weeks ago. They work well otherwise.
I'm curious about the interaction between Google Wallet and NFC. If I try to activate Google Wallet with a non-NFC battery, will this fry the wallet chip as if I had tried to flash a ROM with it activated? Once I read the thread that referred to this phenomenon I deactivated my Google Wallet just so in the future I wouldn't trash it accidentally while I was playing with my phone's firmware once that's possible.
IMO those batteries are no good, I've had 1 for a week now, some cycles ran through it. Some odd behavior I've had, has only charged to 100% once, now it never reaches full charge[84%], and once unplugged at 84%, percentage on phone sometimes goes up, then back down below 84%. I suggest oem battery, Gold battery brand no good IMO.

Corroded charging port?

Hey all...some questions
My phone is not charging normally at all. Even when it says 100% charged, as soon as I disconnect the charger it drops down to less than 50%. Sometimes it will stay plugged in all day and barely gain any power. New battery did not help. ATT said they would replace, however when I went to the store he said the port is corroded indicating water damage. I never dropped it in water so it must have been some sort of moisture. You can definitely see a little rust in there. Tried to clean with toothbrush an alcohol did not really help. ATT on the phone said they will send me a new one but I am worried after they get mine back they will try and bang me for water damage. Any advice? Can i clean the port any other way? I saw in the i9100 forum people have changed the usb port with a part from ebay. I found the part but not sure if I can use it with the ATT version.
Flex Cable with Charge Port for Samsung Galaxy S2 i9100
Has anyone tried? Ideally I would just love to get my replacement phone and send this back and hopefully they don't bother me. I already totally flashed back to stock and used mobile odin to make sure there is no trace of custom roms. This is frustrating. I keep my phone safe but somehow something must have caused the port to collect some kind of rust.
Thanks for any advice
If your phone was dropped in water, they will be able to see that. Get a new part replace the old one and keep rockin.

Samsung S5 question

I think I am in the correct forum for this question, if not I apologize.
I just purchased a Samsung Galaxy S5, but there are a couple of things about it that is making me wonder if I got screwed on the deal.
I traded the phone for another phone that I had that I really did not use much. This Galaxy I got is model SM-G900F. I was told that my AT&T sim card will operate just fine with it. Well it does to some extent. It only shows H+ no 4g or 4g lte or anything. Also on the front of the phone it kind of reads SAMSUNG but its in some sort of "funky" letters. Weird. And there is no gasket on the back cover for water proofing. There is a cover on the USB port. I am just wondering if its a "real" samsung phone or some kind of knock-off???
