Ok, I am on the Carrier Telenor DK. of Course X10 Mini Pro (U20i).
I know it is not the battery failing, as i recently bought a new one.
First: It won't charge.
Second: Wont Boot up (Not even flash mode, not to say charge)
My Bootloader is unlocked, and i have custom kernel flashed, It is in the safe weeks of unlocking a bootloader (10W26) - I did have "SEMC SIMLOCK CERTIFICATE" When i unlocked it. It happened after i used nAa-08 for U20i (NOT ICS KERNEL - Bricked a couple of months ago)
I need help,
Best Regards,

I did indeed check it, as we also bought a new cable for it. (It was one of those new ones where you have the USB in "plug in" place)
The weird thing is: I did not do anything to it when it bricked (I was on MiniCM7-2.1.7 and nAa-08 not while modifying anything)

Not the cable, the physical port. On my phone the physical port was broken. The solder had broken but you may have somehow killed your phone. Or your USB port is gone and you have no charge

I don't think i have killed it, as it worked for a short time with the new battery (like a day or so - would not charge) and then it died agian.
Yes, sounds like the usb-port on your phone is bust.

Do you have any idea on how to fix it? (Me and my dad have already almost disassemblied it. (Bottom part ofc) - We just need the last screws - which we dont have the screw driver for)
No sorry... it may need soldering or replacing, i know stelios97, one of the devs here busted his port and he ordered a replacement, but that's a bout as far as my knowledge goes...

On mine I opened it all (there are four star screws under the kb. Stick something under and prise it off. It won't break) and the USB port was weird. I couldn't re-solder it because I have a wedge tip soldering iron and I would have soldered all 5 pins together :/ but if you have a precision iron its pretty easy, just need a small star shaped screwdriver and to remember how the phone goes together

I get the message when i connect the x10 to the pc "usb device not recognized" i´ve tryed other cables and uninstalling the drivers and reinstalling them. Even anoher pc. but i get the same message where ever i try.
Is it possible that some of the pins are broken?
Is this something i can fixed on the warranty?
If so, even if i have installed a custom rom?
------
I turned the phone in and they replaced the SWAP-Unit. All on warenty! When i turned the phone in i asked the dude there about custom rom and repairs, he said it dident matter aslong as its something wrong with the hardware and not the software ofcaurse
Can u run the phone on flashtool or SEUS from SE on the computer? Or is the phone not reconized on that either?

Then you propably got broken usb connector or your IC controler on motherboard stopped working. If you look at your connector and all the pins just looks fine then connector is really ok. Now, it is surely IC controller. You have to send your phone on warranty, and you are going to receive a new one. Yes, a new phone. There is no other way to fix this. And from what I know, you don't have to bother about different ROM installed. No one else bothers bout it too.
edit:
Oh BTW, if this happened now, then propably in short time you will loose ability to charge your phone VIA USB connetected to PC, if not immedietly then after this charging won't be possible at all, even with AC charger.... So... be prepared.
No my connections looked fine but on metering from the USB connector to the filtering circuit it was open circuit I flowed solder on the joint I then had continuity reassembled and all worked great, no need to go to the interface circuitary. I am saying if the system cannot read the voltage drop across the shunt resistor it cannot control the current and will not charge.

+1, in my case it took about 2 weeks from pc unable to read phone to cannot charge at all.

Since u guys are discussing this, I wanted to know how does one disconnect the phone from the the PC.what is mount and unmount?? Will it harm my device in anyway??? Which is the safest mode to connect it to PC??
first, try a different usb cable, I had the same problem. as for the mounting problem, should have made a new thread, but you should mount usb to transfer files, but no need to if just charging, but be sure to unmount or else you could corrupt your sd card, and it also creates another drive on your computer if you don't 'safely remove usb' after unmounting

Hi guys,
I recently bricked my X10a and have been having problems trying to connect it to my pc. I can get it into flash mode and connect it to my pc but when its plugged into my computer, FlashTool can't detect it and my computer can't either. Is there anyway I can check? if I have the proper drives? Also if I don't have it is there a way to download it? Thx in advanced.
Btw I'm using my freinds HTC G2 USB cable to connect it to my pc. Could this be effecting it? Do I need the official sony ericsson USB EP700? Thx for this as well.
Running windows vista home basic 32-bit
do you have seus the sony ericsson program on your computer?
I believe that will help you get the proper drivers when you install it.
its on the sony ericsson website under downloads.

Use SEUS i have the same and it helped me
I tried using seus but it won't read my phone at all. Unless I have a broken USB port on my phone It can charge but not connect to my computer.
Are you using a USB hub?
It's straight into my computer. Idk whats going on :\
Do you have a firewall or something similar installed? It might interfere with the connection if you have the firewall settings set to very high. Might need to specifically set permissions for it to have seus and the drivers run...
After doing some research I'm almost certain it is the cable. This cable is the official one from HTC and on further reading it says only compatible with HTC phones. But thank's for the help guys. I'm gonna but a new SE USB cable and hope it turns out good. I'll be back if anything goes amiss.
Come on... Tired to read "I bricked my x10" when you have 1% to really brick it, is this so hard to use correct words ??????????
Bricking is non-sense in x10, even with custom kernels... PSP CAN be bricked, a "real" brick, not x10.
It looks many people is new to this, there's no problem but it's very boring to read sensefull words for everything... These people definitely didn't live the period bricking was meaning something.

Bricking in the x10 world is the bootloop. When our bootloader gets cracked the meaning of it will change.

I agree, but bootloop is no way a brick.
Misunderstanding dogs and cats is pretty weird
Hopefully with loader hack we will give indeed a much more realistic meaning to what bricking is
I also learned that the hard way i guess.

No, you just need a plain USB cable. I have both the X10 and the HTC HD2 and I use the same USB cables between the two. No issues.
Hey! its hard to brick an X10.. maybe you have a lower battery problem. try to charge it fully with an a universal charger or another X10. and use another desktop,USB port. the cable must be an a micro USB only. its doesen matter if the cable comes from an HTC, Nokia or other device, it shoud work Remember the drivers.. hope it helps! You have a broken USB port ! x10's disease !!!
You should return your X10 to a Sony Repair Center.
Well as the title says i rooted the phone a long time ago. I noticed my phone didn't charge yesterday so I started messing with it and realized it would need to be sent back. so I wanted to start unrooting, but I couldn't connect into flash or usb at all. I did manage to start a flash once , but then it lost connection half way through and the phone doesn't turn on at all now. I can't wiggle usb or anything at all to get it to recognize so I imagine the board or something need to b replaced. question is will sony be able to tell my phone is rooted in its condition and if the replace board i'm in the clear right? thanks guys!

i think if it doesnot turn on they dont bother repairing it.it is happen with a printer i giveback to bestbuy and they replace it right away without even plunging to power.
oh yeah when I say doesn't turn on I mean it vibrates as usual when u try to power on, but it goes no where. no sony logo or anything.
Oh no. Just tell them the truth, hopefully they don't care... wish ur phone good luck...

Well technically rooting the handset does void the warranty. However, if there's no way for it to turn on, I don't see how they'll be able to tell!

I have tried the SE update service and the phone won't go into flash mode because it seems that the usb port is faulty and loses connection. I'm just sending it in and hoping it gets by them. If not I will just pay for the repair I guess.

This happened to me too. USB port was faulty, couldn't charge, couldn't flash. Vibrate on power key and red light flash but no Sony logo or anything. I borrowed a friends fully charged battery and got phone turned on. Entered recovery and wiped everything, system, data and cache. Then sent it off for repair as it was then a blank phone. They just sent me a new one

Thanks....This eases my mind a little. My wife actually has an x10 as well and I tried her battery as well and it won't go anywhere. It just doesn't work so I am fairly confident that they will jsut be repairing or sending me a new one. It goes out tomorrow so my fingers are crossed. Thanks again for the insight everyone.
Update: I called Sony today for an update on my repair and I was told there was no record of my service request. The support agent I spoke to assured me he would call me back by the end of the day with an update. Well I was waiting and UPS arrives suprising me with my phone The packaging was verrrry bad. It was in a flimsy box wrap in some thin styrofoam wrap thing. The box was dented pretty badly, but the phone seemed to be in working order. The best part is they just sent me a straight replacement. So I put sim in and power her up and it's asking for an unlock code...AHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Spoke to Sony, AT&T and Rogers to try and get them to provide one, but they wouldn't give me one. So now I am waiting for a code to be sent to me from an online company. Hopefully will be up and running within the next 24 hours. I'm just happy it was replaced no questions asked. It actually was sent out to me the same day it was received so that's some quick turn around time.

And besides, files related to root are not stored on the SD.
From release notes on emma you can see that from 2.11.4 version they added detection of rooted phones..
So answer is yes, they can detect if phone is rooted, ofc if they are able to read data from phone..
I have tried 3 different unlock companies online and none have been able to generate a unlock code for my new phone. This is unreal. I dodged the rooted phone issue easily since they couldn't power on phone, but they sent me back a locked Rogers phone and no luck getting it unlocked yet. This sucks :-(
My phone is only a month old and recently started doing this..
when i plug my phone to the charger it goes straight to kies/ active driving mode/ voice commands
same thing happens when i plug it to computer via USB
and when i power off the device it restarts by itself.. same thing happens when i remove the battery, it starts immediately when i return it without pressing the power button.
My phone is rooted and I can't take it back to the retailer, I don't know if there's any way to unroot the phone so the retailer dont find out that my phone was rooted. I have seen many people online facing the same problem but it seems like none of them have found a solution. if there's any please let me know.

Okay just tell me how to unroot it and make it not visible to the company that my phone was rooted. Anyone?
Just flash your Stock firmware again, you will be un-rooted. Use USB Jig to reset ROM counter if you need.

Your country is almost at warfare, and you are more concerned about a phone...
Anyways, you can easily get a 300k resistor. Grab a spare MicroUSB cable, then cut the plug out, plug in the MicroUSB into your phone, then use the resistor and connect to PIN 4 and PIN 5.
You don't need to buy one, just make one.
I upgraded my phone to official ics with pc companion. It was working perfectly about one month but then suddenly it bricked. yesterday I had low battery (3 %) and I pluged it in charger and left so and in the morning I saw it's charged and unpluged. but then in 5 min I went back to phone and I saw it's OFF. I wanted to start it and when I pushed power button only sony logo appeared and then black screen, then I removed battery and did that again (did so 2 times) and then when I inserted battery again and pushed power button it didn't react at all. no vibration no screen light. when I plug it to charger it doesn't react as well... so It doesn't react to any flashtool or smth.. please if you can, help me with it I'll really appreciate your help..
p.s I have locked bootloader and was always running official roms..
I think your the 3rd person this had happened on this site. But unfortunately, nobody has figured it out.

Or do you use any third party usbcable?

I think the problem with 4.0.3 (and cwm) is that sometime it can not charge while off. But I think your case might be different if it is not recognised at all. Can you try borrow someone battery?
