I have carefully read this and some others forums, but haven't found any answer for my questions. Usually threads are just hanging, or people discuss and solve similar, but not my problem.
Here is the problem description:
After switching camera to 3D mode by button, the camera application hangs or shows black screen for 3-5 seconds, then it closes itself and Sence start page is seen. 2D camera is working OK, if app has't crashed before. When I try to play 3D video, it says the player in 2D mode nevertheless what mode the button is in, and 3D mode can be turned on in no way.
When it happened:
I have first noticed it using usual stock ROM (no firmware update or s-off, no recovery). I am not sure was it working after first FOTA update (401.2 to 401.8), but I think it was.
What have I done:
- I have unlocked bootloader, added CWR and wiped everything. Did not help.
- I have loaded first stock ROM (401.2), cause I was sure the camera worked OK with it. Then I have removed CWR, locked bootloader again and made factory reset. Did not help.
- I have loaded new firmware and ROM from Virtuous Shooter v.3.0.0 thread - the camera is working for different users there, but not for me, I have the same problem.
- I have added camera mod from Evo 3D development thread. Did not help.
- I have replaced possible Beats mod by stock ext.jar (nevertheless that ROM is without Beats mod). Did not help.
Here are the questions:
- Can the issue be connected with some kernel problem? I am not sure the firmware update or ROM is modifying kernel (sorry for my dumbness). Mine is 3.0.16-gd468ce7.
- Maybe there is some fix I haven't found? Any library, app or mod?
- Personally I can't believe it is hardware error, because 2D camera is working OK, but if someone has service center experience with such hardware problem - please tell me.

Please help me fix the camera of my Cingular 8125 G4 device. After I flashed a new rom using soft SPL method, which I think G4 safe rom, the camera is not working. When I press the camera button, I only see the spinning circle with different colors and the screen lights up a little bit than the normal brightness and stuck it there. And after a few seconds, the phone hangs up. Need to soft reset in order to put back the device in a functional state. I don't know why this happened as I followed all the necessary steps in using softSPL upgrade method. Maybe there is something wrong in the device registry. Does anyone has the same camera problem. Please share the tricks, tweaks or anything just to bring back the camera function again.
BTW, I reflashed back the official cingular stock rom but no luck at all its the same.
I see that you are using the TNT ROM, so I would to and flash UP to the newest version and see if that fixes your problem, it sounds like the camera software and drivers are not getting installed for some reason.
I reflashed the tnt rom but no good. Tried also to go back to the original cingular stock rom but still not working. Even in the windows\camera cannot make it. But when tried not to use the device for a some hour in standby mode, the camera works for a while then it hangs up. And go back to non-functional state.
Sir, what you think is the problem? I suspect its the software installed in the device based on what the camera behave. Or definitely the hardware itself and need to replace. Bad for me because I am living in the Philippines and as far I knew there is no service available in our country.

Try using the wizard service tool to increase your page pool to 6mb.

Hello. Guy's please help me. Two days ago i enabled cam app ant it showed error, then I enabled it again, and it worked normal... If i reboot phone it hapens again... Im on DonutHD rom without updates, i tried flash via recovery other rom, and in other ROM, it was XPERIA-S port rom, it showed error every time i enabled cam app, its not worked... Then i flashed back to DonutHD, that bug is still her like I said it shows error once, than it normaly works... Sorry for my english, im still learning it Please help, is this hardware or software? Camera 360 captures strange green color at first time, then works perfactly, after camera360 stock works, if i didnt enabled it first. Today i flashed MIUI by cobrato, camera works perfectly, and camera 360 too, no errors and other s**t... Is this issuse with stock rom's or something? Strange. Please HELP!
I recently rooted my One and had networking issues so i flashed this rom ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2266025 ) and after flashing though the networking issues were fixed it then had issues with the back and home buttons, as the phone did when i purchased it, so i located and installed the ota patch that tmobile had pushed to fix it, and there was an error installing it, but the buttons were fixed anyway, but now my camera app does not work, i can open it and see nothing but black, the apps buttons do not appear to respond and after some time i get a "unable to start camera: error. i cannot locate a apk or anything similar to try to reinstall the camera app, other apps i launch tell me "error accessing camera", any help would be appreciated
Update: just discovered, the light does not work either

I never actually solved it though. It happened when a replacement was already on the way so i didn't bother trying to fix it. I did research a little and came across a few people that said a bad kernel flash could cause this. I was running the stock kernel and stock rom, and it was working just fine before the OTA so i figuered it was probably a hardware issue. If i were you i would try flashing another kernel. If doesnt work call up tmo and they will probably send you a replacement(you can also contact them through the live chat the on the website, much more convenient in my opinion). I had blown speaker and they didnt even ask about unlocking the bootloader or root, i assume it is because it was clearly a hardware issue. If you figure it out, please share.

Have a SGS 3 i9300, rooted.
I use Googy Max Kernel 1.8.0, and use the dual boot feature.
As first rom, I have CyanogenMod 10.2.0, and works like a charm, no drama there.
But, as a second rom, I used the Omega Rom v 50.1, stock 4.1.2 based (as it has to be). Worked fine, except for the fact that some heavy games didn't ran, but that wasn't so bad, the main issue was camera force closed as soon as I open it. I tried a lot of camera apps, clean data/cache, clean dalvik cache, re-flashed kernel, re-flashed the rom, reinstall camera apps, clean the lens whith chlorydrix acid, hit the phone against the floor, shoot it, screem and curse, nothing worked.
Then, I flashed Gorgoid Rom, v 2.7a, a more simple and lightweight rom. The damn camera error persist. As soon I press the app icon, it loads, the camera never works, I mean the screen is black all the time, no image showed, and then it burst in a force close of hell. A little difference, some camera apps, like silent app, shows an error message before dies, "can't connect whit the camera". Another app, Camaringo Lite, shows "Unable to connext device hardware Camera .Make sure you have enough baterry. You might need to re-start the phone". No need to say I have enough baterry, have re-started the phone countless times, and all the other cleanings and basic procedures.
So, my question, how can I get the camera to work as it should?
That's my story, if someone can throw me a bone here, I would be really grateful.

Recently updated my stock ROM for M8 to the Lollipop update.
I am in the UK, on EE. Software version is 4.19.61.2.
After a few days I was reading about HTC camera improvements online and thought I would check the camera app and see if I noticed any updates.
This was when I noticed that the 'Capture' menu which normally contains quite a few options, now only shows 'Camera', 'Zoe Camera' and '360 Panaroma'.
I read another feed where someone had similar problem, the advice given was, try enabling blinkfeed, update from Play, check no custom launchers interfering with camera, factory reset.
So, I enabled Blinkfeed again and I have no custom launchers installed. This did not make any difference. I checked on Play and the app is the most up to date version. So I gave in and did a factory reset from HBoot. Turned on and camera still the same.
Anyone have any ideas on what else I could do?
