[Q] Problems after service - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello guys,
I am really pissed off with Samsung service now.
I had a problem with my home button and took the phone to service center.
They gave me the phone back after 2 hours and all seemed good.
Now when I put the sim card there is no signal! So I gave the phone back and they did something for half an hour and then all seemed good.
I went back home and then I notice that the audio jack is no longer working. Took the phone to service the next day and the person told that on the first service they changed the display, audio jack, outer glass screen etc(Why do they need to change all these?) and the new audio jack was having problems!! So they took my old audio jack port and put it back in.
Now all is good except that there is a new screen turn off animation! When I press the power button to turn off the display ( stand by), the screen fades off rather than switching off instantly. And the service guy tells me that this may be due to some new sensors in the display!
What do I do now? Checked my friend's SGS2 and the screen turns off instantly with out any fade out. Can any one provide some inputs please?

now wat can u do m8 an i don kno wat to tell u...lol.....y the hell they changed parts ,they could hav replacd man,now display fades means ,it shlnd may b its 2nd hand...jus go bck an claim ur display if under warranty....at first place the home buttom was a minor prblm tell them ull give consumer complaint....

Really pissed off. Is it necessary to change display for home button issue? I guess it is nit necessary

HTC Touch Pro - screen doesnt work but everything else does

touch pro
screen does not respond!!
everything else works
i feel it vibrate when it turns on, the light in the center button lights up when charging
my friend was able to call me, and the lights and my ringtone went off
the keyboard lights up, the part below the screen with the center button works and lights up
basically yeah, everything except the screen works!
i tried taking the battery out and i did a soft reset
dont really want to do a hard reset (will all my contacts get erased?)
looked around the forum briskly for anything related to my problem but didnt find any
what should i do? i really need my phone to be working T__T
possibly...

typical problem with the touch pro...because its a slider you probably need to replace the flex cable from mother board to screen, i had same problem with mine i thought at first it was the digitizer but dont be fooled.
back up the pim file on the computer and see if you can get the phone replaced under warrenty would be my suggestion.
Not sure if you have fixed the problem yet or not but I just recently had this same issue. I replaced the phone under warranty and before I sent it back I installed MyMobiler to navigate the phone and save any files I wanted to keep locally on my PC. Obviously activesync saved all my contacts and whatnot as well.
The sad part was I had only had the phone a month and 2 weeks so they couldn't give me a brand new replacement since it was over the 30 days, so I had to settle for a Re-Man. blah
Oh well good luck mate!
I have the same problem. I just called tech support and had them sent me a new one. Something that may elongate your use before you get it replaced, press down on the screen between the lower buttons and the LCD screen (the Verizon logo). It seems that the more that i do it, the worse it get, but slowly. Here is a video of me making it work.
Good luck!

HD2 No Screen

Qeustion
My HD screen is off, and i cant seem to get it on again.
I just was working on it 1hour ago, took it out of my pocket and see that i have no screen.
Rebooted the phone, but no succes .. i see the screen turning on, but it light-gray (backlight) but no actual info/colors etc, also tryd a soft reset, no succes.
I have the Energy ROM Com5 build from 8July with the new 2.12 radio rom.
Could it be that in some way the screen died?
Hope someone can help me, im @ work now so i cant connect it with the PC.
When im home im planning to reflash the device ..
Thanks!
Weird
I just pressed a button and the screen turned on, and the colours/info just slowely fade away ... weird.
Could it be that the touchscreen is not oke anymore?
Or could it be a problem in the radio/rom i use? (and therefore a reflash could fix this?)
Hope its a easy sollution, otherwise ill be flashing it to stock and get it fixed by HTC.
Very very strange.
It seems to work again.
Anyone think i should reflash it to stock and try get a new one?
Are these signs of a screen going defect?
I dont know, first phone for me with touchscreen.
I would suspect a faulty screen, if it is still within warranty i would deffinately get a new one, however yes, try going back to stock first, see if it helps, it may be just a bad flash.
screen problem
I've had this and similar problems with my HD2, now on the 5th replacement from HTC in just 6 months of owning the phone. I also had the same problem on my HTC HD previously. Press the power key and just the buttons at the bottom light up but no response from the screen. Also had exactly the same problem your experiencing where you can faintly see the screen but not lit up. Flash it to stock rom and return to HTC for repair.
BEWARE!!! take some pics with date stamps of your handset before returning. They sent me 3 handsets all with the glass front panel not fitted correctly. Check the return handset carefully, you should be able to feel a lip between the casing and the screen as the screen is set a fraction lower than the casing. THis should be uniform all around. They tried telling me that i had damaged it myself despite calling them as soon as the handset had been delivered back to me.

That's 'sleep of death', which affects loads of htc devices.
Oke i will stock it soon and return for repair.
I think its idd a screen problem, cause when the screen isnt functioning anymore, and when i put my ear on the glass, i hear a little squishing sound, like air is escaping .. it doesnt do that when the screen shows info/colour.

[Q] Hardware problem with screen

Hello,
in party I accidentaly dropeed my phone from third floor and it turned off, some parts flew away (mine's X10 mini, not pro)..
I collected everyting, tried to turn it on, it vibrated, but no image were displayed, just backlight.
I opened it, checked all wires (i don't know how you call that thin wires, that goes from screen to motherboard) - everything is ok.
But still no results - not working - just turns on, but screen not showing anything - just backlight glowing.
Any idead how to fix?

can u still use your warranty to repair it for free?? if is it your case i would send it to se because i had a similar problem, but in my case my touch screen didnt work properly,i press on the top but it was selected the bottom options, and it kept pressing bottom all the time... so i went back to stock rom with seus, relocked the bootloader, unrooted the phone and send it to repair... finally i received a week later with a new touch screen for free!! i hope to be helpful!!

Um... I think that warranty does not apply on damage caused by customer itself. You'll have to send it to repair, with a risk to pay, even if you have stock rom/kernel, I think.

you're true!! obviously if they see a screen crashed if you want it new, you'll have to pay... but i thought this buddy says his mini looks good but doesn't work... he can try anyway... in my case it falls on the floor but not so high, and I think it caused my problem... maybe not! maybe it was a fault in my touchscreen and that's why I got it reppaired for free... He can try anyway...

[Q] white screen with lines

hi...
well im pretty sad cause i dropped my galaxy s2 on the floor(not the 1st time)...this time when i switched it on all it shows is a white screen with crazy coloured lines.i waited a bit and i understood that it booted up.i pressed the power button and the display went off and heard the sound(i assigned it on pressing power button).then i again pressed the power button switching on the phone to its lockscreen and from my memory i pressed that jellybean locksreen buttton and slid my finger.anyways it unlocked and went to the homescreen.later i was able to switch off the phone too....everything works except the screen...
Is it just that my lcd is loose connected or is it damaged and would i need a replacement.
Sorry for the lengthy description if it bored you and my advance thanks to anyone who gives an answer and thanks to xda -for this forum.
Have a very close look at the screen under a not too bright light and see if you can notice any cracks. Sometimes you can barely see them.
If you can't see any, then if I were you I'd open it up and pray to God that it's just the screen connector that's come off slightly. It's a possibility.
Good luck..

hello, this it's the first time i write an entry in a forum, but i have a problem with my s2, the problem it's that i buyed sometime ago a screen replacement for my phone because i accidentally broke the lcd, and when it arrived, i changed it because i have some experience with this phone because i have already changed it's screen once, now, while changing the screen, i broked two things, the flex cable of the call speaker and the volume flex that goes onto the motherboard, but with that damaged, my phone turned on once, i didn't see that the volume flex wasn't there so i opened my phone again and now, it doesn't turn on, it's like only the leds of the screen turn on when i touch them, i don't know what to do, i have gone to a mobile center and the guy telled my that to repair that i have to change the flexs i broke, i have changed the call speaker but the volume one it's broken, i just want my phone back.
