Office Suite Pro is on sale for 99 cents.
http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/0...pro-6-on-sale-for-0-99-until-may-10th-14-off/
I just purchased it for 99 cents.
Hope it works well.

Howard

Thanks for the heads up on the deal.
I have Kingsoft Office (free) on mine, and seems to get the job done for how often I need to open Office files on mobile (not often). Any reason this one is better?

Well...I have not used it yet, and I do not have any immediate need for it.
It is supposed to be able to open Microsoft Office files: Word, Excel, and powerpoint files and PDF files. I figure for 99 cents it might come in handy. If I wasted 99 cents, I won't fret over it.
My wife almost bought me a tablet last December for the holidays. I bet it will be much nicer to work on documents on a tablet rather than a rezound phone. So, there might be an android tablet in my future?
Howard

cool for 99 cents ill give it a go. thanks for the heads up.

No More XDA - One Wanted!

Had to hand back my XDA today - company went bust & I got laid off
Sure am going to miss it
Had it running as a SatNav, used it for MSN Messenger, Browsing, VPN & r/c of servers etc via VNC, had a bespoke 2-way data package on it + all the usual phone stuff. My T39/T68 are just not going to replace it
So if anyone has a spare they don't want? Or looking to u/grade?
Give me a call
Or I might just have to find some cash to get an XDA II :?
It is a common practice here in the US (way too common lately ) to give employees the first shot at buying liquidated equipment. The creditors foreclosing on your business will only be able to liquidate your company's technology items for a tiny fraction of their cost. Aside from marketable items like higher-end unix servers and cisco gear, most companies let employees buy their own cellular/handheld/laptop/desktop gear at considerable discounts. I'd ask if I were you, will usually be cheaper than buying a used one on the open market, and you know exactly what you're geting.
Puff, Mad max is right.
By the way u mentioned used the VNC RC. I've been using VNC for months now to remote control out server and some workstations thru my Desktop, but I was not able to used it in my XDA, either GPRS or dial-up.
I hope you could help me
Thanks
Joey

Sweet find bro!!!! I have it but am getting my free version
Ok, any way to get a larger font size in contacts? I looked all through the settings and you can increase the font size for the settings screen, but nothing else. I always keep my unit on 96 dpi and contacts comes up almost too small to hit it with the stylus, or to read.
In settings, look under "meny" (I think) soft key down in the right. Here you can choose fonts

Hi Guys
I also downloaded the free version for 1 day on palminfocenter
But now I have received a $16.95 "upgrade" 1 day later to version 8 ????
This sucks
Surely if I only own the program for 1 day then the "upgrade" shopuld be free or is this another marketing ploy for us suckers
I have written to pocket informant but am still awaitibng their reply ???
Reason teed off is that this "upgrade is $16.95" my upgrades in agendus ar normally $10.00 and they never pull a stunt like this !!!
Look here:

Sucks? You have now a 30 $ piece of software for free (and is the 2007 release) OR you COULD have the 2008 release with a 10$ discount, ABSOLUTELY FOR FREE!
This sucks? Welcome to the earth baby!
I will be happy to find every day someone giving for FREE 10$!!!!!
I don't see the downside of this, either. Yes, when I got the email announcing the new version just 2 days after downloading the older version my first reaction was "bait-and-switch" and I was a little angry. But that quickly went away when I started seeing things like sergiopi describes above. We got a pefectly usable piece of software for free. I'm saying "thanks" and moving on. I just wish I could make the contact font larger... (and no, its not under settings!)
Hi
I have just reinstalled Pocket informant on my X7500 because I when I used it I changed the fonts in contacts, But I can´t remember exaktly what I did.
Well here is how to do it.
1. Menu
2. Tools and settings
3. Settings
down in the right corner it says Full list, push this and you will see Basic list, fonts/colours and full list. Choose fonts/colours
Here can you changes fonts in just everything.
Regards
Hans

Sorry but the email did not state any of the above.
Thanks for the info.
PS Tried to download the "free" upgrade to ver 8 but keeps saying that it cannot find the registration in their database.
Will write to them and see what they say.
Reason why I am not very happy paying for it as I already use agendus for palm and ppc and find it fantastic $60 layout and hence was only interestedin running this one for a while to see the comparison.
Thanks for the info
Hi
Got their sites upgrade policy to work !!!
It states that if your pocket informant is purchased after 1 September 2007 then ver 8 is free.
When you go to the site checkout it charges you $16.95 ???
I am not *****ing about this in light of previous post but I do find falsness a bit hard to bear
If they want to give free versions away - your good fortune,
but then apply the policy - on the site
ver 8 free if obtained after 1 September 2007. ???!!!!????
Being a bit pedantic i know but they did offer the prgram with a 100% discount coupon - it does not invalidate all the other criteria !!!!
Hans, thank you, I finally found it with your instructions. That is so non-intuitive, especially when there is the one font adjustment in the settings section. So I expected all of them to be there. Silly me. Now I can finally use PI, yay.
mw, that page clearly says that if you got it free from one of the two freebie offers you must pay to get the next version.
If you read the owner's comments on the free give away. He did say that he was doing the free version 2007, so more people would get version 8 when it came out in a few days for half price. He was very open about the freebie and that it was a marketing thing to get more people to try pi prior to version 8 release. His comments were somewhere on his site, webis.net on the first day of the free app friday and the other site freebie.
So yea, seems like a marketing ploy and yes it was. If you don't get pi version 8 for 16.95, well you still got a good PIM for free. And as they say, not much is really free without someone having an ulterior motive.

Because they checked your registration and they discovered you haven't purchased!! Purchased means IMHO ... PAID!
If you get for free a dog food can in a market, the day after could you give it back asking for a CAT food can? or the new taste DOG food can ?
They will ask to give them the RECEIPT, and you haven't!
hi
dont mean to nit pick but
1 yes i got an invoice for the item
2 they supplied a coupon discount code
3 yes i follow your logic about a refund when granted a discount coupon
Never mind i use agendus anyway
Much better

Quickoffice Pro - Is it worth it?

So for 5 bucks Quickoffice Pro SEEMS like a steal, but I have two main problems with buying it, and needed help or opinions.
First, how can I get the pre-installed app off my phone (running UnNamed)? Second, is it worth it? What's the best Office/Word Processor app you've found so far?

You should be able to use titanium backup to remove the one you are currently running. If not, having both will not cause a conflict.
As far as price... I use pro, and I do like it. $5? I dunno, it may be worth it. It is definitely worth the $0 you will pay for it if you get it from GetJar though.

I got Quickoffice and Documents to Go both from Amazon as FAOTD. I can't decide which one I should be using, though.
My 5 cents worth of wisdom: I used Quickoffice, Quickoffice pro, Documents to Go ( on the Blackberry, admittedly), and OfficeSuite Pro5 on my GS2. Quickoffice pro opens all files without complaining including PDF and PPT/PPTX and displays them correctly. Quickoffice also opens MS office 2010. I got rid of OfficeSuite pro when I found out it did stuff behind my back and caused wakelocks. Documents to Go on the BB was terrible, but I freely admit I cannot comment on the GS2. However, the free BB version would not allow for document editing or download, so I won't even bother getting reacquainted on android.
Thanks for the replies everyone. I went ahead and purchased it, as well got a free "SmartOffice" from the GetJar app store.
Atlan, your post told me more than enough. Glad to know the other Office providers were ****. It won't matter much to me until I have my bluetooth keyboard connected and my phone connected to an HD screen and i'm typing documents for whatever PA school papers I might have.
Gotta day, Quickoffice Pro seems pretty legit so far, just hope it doesn't crap out on me later on in the year.

Hi everyone!! Quick question :)

Hello dear fellow Transformer Prime owners!! I just purchased one today for my wife to surprise her because she is starting up school again and she wanted a tablet, so what better than the Transformer Prime lol
My question is, I literally just opened the box... and I would really like to get it school-ready for her when she comes back, because she's starting this summer and she has classes starting next week.
Now what I mean by "school-ready" is simple, I would like her to be able to read e-books (because I am getting e-book version of her books that she needs for class) so that she can read them and use them, I would also like her to be able to use Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc... is that possible on this tablet?
Because she has a writing class and she would like to be able to type essays and stuff on their.
So please help me and let me know how I can do all that, and if you have any other recommendations for the tablet to get it "school-ready", please share!!!
Thank you soooooooooooo much in advance, all help will be greatly appreciated

Need help finding the Best Office Suite

Ok so Polaris Office is wonky with paragraph formatting and for some ungodly reason I can't get Kingsoft Office to do double spacing correctly..
What are some of the better Office Suites out there for someone going to college trying to replace notebooks and pads?
For right now Word is really the most important thing I need but if their is a whole suite out there I wouldn't mind checking it out.
Free or Paid doesn't matter at this point
