[Q] What is wrong with my Amaze!! :/ - HTC Amaze 4G

so, m not new to this flashing n etc but wont consider myself as educated about rooting n stuff as most of you guys so i ask you for help!
i was s-off through j.bear method, rooted!,so flashed the ruu from Football weeks ago, ran fine, flashed reecovery gained root. everything was fine untill i decided to go on the Speed Rom 3.1.0 , i followed the instructions as always (fyi, i flashed countless roms on my mytouch 4g) i dont know where i went wrong but now
THE PROBLEM:
the problem now i have is the phone gets stuck on the HTC logo, boot screen or if i flash the official ics tmo ruu then it gets stuck on the tmo android logo. :/, it does not go any further than that.
i can access bootloader, recovery too. but after trying to flash different roms and updates, and also i tried to install the tmo stock ruu by relocking the bootloader again and then flashing it through bootloader but it does not help.
i m dyinggg here trying to fix it, may be its just a stupid mistake from me that i dont know you guys are the doctors of this stuff so i m hopefull ( a little)
any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks alot.
EDIT: I have also tried flashing roms through recovery
and bootloader too.
also tried wiping , factory settings, formating, dalvik ,cache, battery stats etc
flashed 4ext recovery , sometimes the recovery gives the error message that it CANT ACCESS INTERNAL STORAGE, i wonder why is that.
Edit 2:
fyi: right now i am RELOCKED ,S-OFF , HBOOT 1.93.0002

Flash eng bootloader.

Check instructions from post above your last post
Your bootloader should read something like ENG 1.90.2005 LOCKED

Its not that it can't flash it, but I've had it happen to me a couple of times, if I flashed a rom and didn't check the md5 and the kernel was messed up, it would flash, then get stuck on the HTC splash screen. Then flashing the kernel through easy kernel flasher it would load up the rom I was on.
I'm just giving another option to try, but I think if there's an issue with a kernel for whatever reason the next install there will be an issue with the kernel flash. Its happened to me a couple of times, and 4ext couldn't bail me out, but the kernel flasher did every time.

Please keep all question based threads in the Q&A section. It also helps to search the forums before posting your [Q]. Often times, your problem has been asked and answered.

If u have eng hboot, then it shouldn't be "relocked" it should be "locked"

I have the same prob. . I've tried everything over the last week. Stock ruu, ice leak, every possible rom, eng hboot, wiping everything, even did a format on the internal sd through windows, Linux, cwm and nothing.. 4ext can't mount internal_SD and won't let me flash from SD card as won't mount either.. cwm recovery see's the internal, it works as I put data on it, disk checked it for errors and none.. I have not tried the kernal flash tool but did try through fast boot and hansoon's toolkit, does it flash it any different?? I will try later but I Def have the same problem.. and on ice leak it goes past the HTC screen till the T-Mobile splash.

[Q] Can't update to ICS (rooted with CWM)

Hi,
I've tried updating to ICS but got the black screen with the blue android icon and the triangle.
From searching the web I got mixed answers, some said that it may be because I've changed to CWM.
I'm still s-on.
What do I need to do in order for the update to work?
Thank you !!!:good:
Revert back to stock.

You could change recoveries to 4ext (see my signature) since that is what people think the problem might be. Also, ICS does not seem to work well with S-On from what I've seen in these forums, so you may want to get S-Off.
thanks but..
First of all thanks to both of you for answering..
I'm a bit new at this so a couple of questions -
I didn't change roms, all I did was to unlock the bootloader (using HTCDEV) replace the recovery and get root. This means that I'm on stock Rom no?
Does changing the recovery to 4EXT will help? cause it's doesn't seem logical that changing to a different recovery will help me install the official OTA update..
Oh and I'm using the GSM version if that matters..
Again, thanks!

To install official updates you need stock htc recovery.... Since you have Cwm it won't work.. Flash stock htc recovery using fast boot then take the ota update and everything will be fine.
I'm aware that this may seem like a dumb question, but where do I get the stock recovery from?
(I know that fast boot is that file that I have on my computer, the one that i used to flash CWM recovery)
Thanks!!

Don't know if this will work, but I just searched evo 3d gsm stock recovery in Google and this came out http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1540121
There is a media fire link for the recovery.....
Flash it using fast boot, relock the bootloader and then try to install the ota..... And post back the results.... But taking the ota will update you Hboot, which might not be in unlockable atm....
Thanks!!

How to root 1.53.0007?

hey i've never rooted a phone before and i'm having a hard time finding out how to do this,,
i have the shooter_u, s-on, hboot 1.53.0007, eMMC-boot, RADIO-11.25.3504.06_M.
is there a way to root it, if not when will it be possible and is there anything else i can do with it like flash custom ROM etc? :fingers-crossed:
htcdev
go to htcdev(dot)com/bootloader/ and click on the right "Begin Unlock Bootloader"
u will need to register.. imput some random information all will be ok
and just follow the steps its easy..

Now you only unlocked the bootloader, which is not rooting.
OP.
After you did the above, you have to flash a custom recovery and flash superuser 3.x.x for ICS.

The only issue with s-on is that the ICS ROMs tend to bootloop for most people. I recommend you get s-off. See the stickies in the Evo3d GSM development thread for more help with that.

Hey, i've got a major problem with the mwakious3DromĀ® rom, i followed the wrong steps and installed the newest version straight away through recovery, and now when i turn on the evo 3d it stays on the white screen with green letters 'HTC' forever, it never goes off.
i've tried factory reset but it's of no use; also tried restoring it through a nandroid backup i think, through recovery from jus tafter i rooted but it takes long on the 'restoring boot image' part and once that part's done the other things take place except for 'ext-sdcard' or something, ]it still dosen't work and stays on htc logo when turned on.
I thought i may be able to install a different ROM so i downloaded evolver3D2.3, however when conencted through usb cable from evo 3d to the pc, the 'removable disk (j' shows up but when clicked on it replies ' please insert a disk into removable disk(j', it dosen't let me go onto my sdcard so i cant copy the files.
When i go onto fastboot and have the usb connected the 'fastboot usb' does show up on the 3d so there's still hope i can do something from there but i really don't know where to start and i'm afraid if i've bricked it; have i or is it fixable?
Please, please help me, i would be so grateful
edit : btw, i have the anryl kernel 30.09 if this could be helpful.
First dont worry everything is fixable at xda second i will try to help u as much as i can if ur memory card isnt readable anymore , put mwakious 3D rom 11 the base one on another sd card and boot into recovery and do a full wipe and flash it and to flash thr patches make a full boot then reboot to recovery wipe cache and dalvik cache and flash the update i rly dont know what happened to that sd card and if that didnt work search for OTA ics ruu and flash it in bootloader and then s-off that hboot 1.53.007 trust me its easy and its way easier to flash roms and to avoid bootloops
Hit the thanks button if i helped

If you can remove the sd card and plug it in to your computer directly, you can check to make sure it is working properly (and copy the ROM over at the same time). If you can boot into recovery from fastboot, then you can flash the ROM. If not, you'll have to push a new recovery through your computer.

hey guys, i fixed the problem by popping the sdcard in a blackberry and connecting it, afer a while it started to work so i installed the evolver32 rom. anyways it was workng perfectly BUT wifi dosen't work. so i thought wifi may not work only on that rom, however i installed the mwakious3DromĀ® rom and when i click wifi it says error and theres no wifi connection.. could this be due to me not getting s-off or do they just do that on 1.53.007 ?
I think no wifi is a symptom of a bad kernel flash due to being s-on. So I think being s-off and flashing again might help.

If you were on GB, those roms won't work, if you're on ICS and you're s-on, use 4EXT, if the problem persist, then you need to flash the boot.img file in the roms zip file manually.
You'll need to learn how to use fastboot if you don't know how to or get someone to write you a script.
Try to reflash stock rom using OTA. may be fix it. I got same problem and solve it by this way

If you can go to bootloader, so use method for S-ON user
-Relock bootloader (fastboot oem lock) (Place the PH85img.zip on sd before locking bootloader if u do not have a card reader.
-Flash leaked ICS RUU in bootloader (rename ruu to PH85IMG.zip, place on external SD card and boot into bootloader)

CM10 Install guide?

I've been (at least trying to) patiently wait for Deck to post full install instructions for CM10 but the CM10 op is still bare as bones. Has anyone else posted an install guide or instructions yet?
I'm currently rooted with RegawMod and running MeanRom 2.1 and it's really terribly laggy and frustrating, I can't wait any longer for CM10. Do I need S-off to install CM10 or do I just wipe, flash, and go?
Thanks for any help or links!
If you are on hboot 1.15 or higher you have to fast boot flash the kernel.
Other than that its just like a normal aosp install. Wipe flash rom flash gapps.
Its been my daily for 3 weeks.

You don't need s-off. You will however have to flash the boot IMG separately by using fastboot or the app flash image GUI and a full wipe is definitely required. There is a helpful thread in Q&A called "don't panic" that will answer all your questions
Good luck

The S-OFF guide was way over my head so I just let it be. If there's not a real good reason for doing it, and I can still run CM10, then I'd rather not.
It allows you to directly flash new firmware like radios to fix any problems a device might be having. If you have Son and want the latest firmware you have to revert back to stock and accept ota, then unlock reflash recovery and reflash custom ROM or rooted stock, you could also just flash root installer if you want to just root stock

No, S-ON people with 1.12 H-boot can flash radios and firmware from recovery. They can do whatever they please in recovery just like S-OFF. S-OFF users can flash things from bootloader and even change the appearance of their h-boot to read S-ON and **locked** even though they are S-OFF
To the OP, this is the best rooting guide I've seen. It really explains everything step by step. http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-lte...panda-s-htc-dev-ltevo-root-dummies-guide.html Its recommended to have Linux at least bootable, because in the small chance the phone gets bricked... the unbricker program requires linux.
I ran it in windows before the unbricker was available, no issues here
You basically just hook the phone up to it and run the program like you do for most other root programs. All 1-click

Alright, I got S-Off using Lazy Panda and it went better than expected!
Do I need to flash updated firmware / radios separately from CM10, or does CM10 include latest firmware?
Sorry to ask dumb questions, but I do hope this thread will also be a good resource for others like me.
You don't have to flash any firmware updates. There are a few users with issues although they may be related to the ROM update and not necessarily the firmware included. I haven't really checked since I'm s on. If you want to update the radios there's an update zip here somewhere, be sure to read through everything carefully. Radios are more risky then every day flashing
Alright everyone now I need some help!
I flashed CM10 after s-off, was on stocked 1.13 rooted rom.
Now when CM10 boots up I am faced with a phone activation screen. It says something like "you will not be able to place calls or access the mobile network until the device is activated". I am unable to make calls or receive calls or access the internet. I have tried reflashing cm10 and the problem persists.
In the mean time, I will try flashing a nand backup and see where that gets me. I appreciate any and all help, and I have found no posts in the CM10 thread with a similar issue.
Update: I wiped and restored a back-up, MeanRom 2.1. Upon boot, hands-free activation ran and activated the phone and downloaded a PRL update. Everything is working fine now. Not sure if I should try CM10 again or what? Any advice?

Rename the file to "PJ75IMG.zip", place on root of SD card, and boot into HBOOT to flash. Check the md5 to make sure its right. With radios you want to make sure its the correct file.

Yes, you should be flashing the upgraded firmware. You'll see the full firmware as the very first downloadable link. Flash that

Rename the file to "PJ75IMG.zip", place on root of SD card, and boot into HBOOT to flash. Check the md5 to make sure its right. With radios you want to make sure its the correct file.

Thanks, but I tried this and it says "no image or wrong image" when trying to flash the PJ75IMG.zip file.
Did you type in PJ75IMG.zip or PJ75IMG and kept it a zip file...you should do the 2nd.

I thought that might've been the issue so I tried it both ways, didn't work either way. I'll take another shot at it tomorrow.

[Q] New Weird Unresolvable Problem?...

Okay so i've had my htc evo 3d for a while and i decided to root it finally.
i rooted it, everything was fine, it was s-on.
i flashed like 3 roms and everything was great, ....until i flashed a kernel.
i first used the MAC kernel, and it worked great.
but then i flashed the "No name" kernel from the same creator from the MAC kernel for the htc evo 3d and i got bootloops?
i also noticed it sent me back to Hboot 1.57 somehow? and i was on 1.58?
so, i went back into 4ext recovery and wiped everything and flashed a stock rom i had.
yet, i still have the bootloop going on...
what do i do? i really want my htc evo 3d back, i had to go back to my lg optimus V for now until someone can help me :/
Thank you for your time, and to whoever helps me with my semi-bricked device

It's not a Rom or kernel issue, try flashing my pg86img.zip in the EVO 3d gsm development thread, adding your own cid to the text file (this has only been tested on gsm) but if your already looping what's the harm in trying
But my htc is CDMA. Sorry I forgot to mention it's from virgin Mobile.

I don't think that's even relevant, but I'm gsm and can't test cdma so I can't tell you it works, but on another note, where's the harm in trying
S-on is an issue, I believe because you are s-on the kernel flash was bad, some kernels require s-off , did you try another kernel, or flashing bootimg through fastboot

Yeah I think it's an issue too. I've tried flashing the MAC kernel that worked before and nothing. Where can I find a bootimg? Is it the same as pg86img?
Sent from my LG-VM670 using xda premium
No, pg86img is the firmware but some Roms have the bootimg within the zip, just open your Rom with WinZip or 7zip extract bootimg and place it on your sdcard and flash it with fastboot

Or try to wipe dalvik and cache and refresh the kernel

Okay, so I went into bootloader and tried going to recovery, and I guess I don't have a recovery anymore? Is there anything I can flash for one? So I can wipe dalvik and so on.

The unnamed kernel requires S-OFF to work correctly
You can try 4ext, but you might need to run a ruu and.start from scratch again?

I asked about a month ago for the mods to verify if a kernel requires s-off to be flashed, see what happens. if you can I would recommend going s-off.

I know right? I looked at the the forum again and It nowhere says I need s off.... So it just screwed me over cause I was s-on. Where can I find a Ruu? Sorry, I'm kinda new to all this.
If I need to go back to factory stock unrooted, I don't care, I just want my evo 3d to boot up again Haha.

Stickies are where you will find them, might be in cdma development stickies, ask around and see what others think, maybe they will have other suggestions

Alright, thanks for your replies. Hopefully I'll get this fixed, if not, it's 300$ down the drain..

No it's fixable, again ruu will cure most issues but b4 you do that, ramjet, he knows a lot ask him otherwise there's a thread under Q & A stickies where you can ask any question

If you have the Virgin Mobile version of the Evo 3D the RUU.exe you want to use is the fourth one from the top on this page.
To flash the RUU.exe, if you have HTC unlocked the bootloader you will need to "fastboot oem lock" with the phone in the "fastboot USB" mode in the bootloader, then start the RUU.exe from Windows. It takes about 10 minutes to run and should leave you with a totally stock configuration, except the bootloader will say "***RELOCKED***" at the top instead of "***LOCKED***".
Before you run that it might be worth starting 4EXT recovery by using "fastboot boot recovery.img" from a PC and flashing a mostly stock rooted ROM like MeanROM ICS or CleanROM BE ICS because it sounds like you may just have a non-bootable kernel and 4EXT SmartFlash required for flashing kernels directly from recovery with S-ON won't work if the current kernel is not bootable. You could also try flashing the stock VM kernel from here after using the fastboot command to start recovery.

You should reflash a Stock ROM from RUU or extract ROM.ZIP to flash via Fastboot.

Thanks alot for your reply ramjet,
okay, well i tried downloading the 4th one from where you told me and file factory is giving me a "problem loading page" so i cant download it. i have my htc locked now and it says ***RELOCKED*** so all i need to do now is install the 4ext recovery through bootloader and flash the rom and kernel and run RUU,but i need your download.
Edit: So i tried flashing recovery.img through fastboot and i got "cannot load 'recovery.img'" ?
No, ramjet told you to flash 4ext recovery before you do anything, now you can't flash recovery because you have a locked bootloader.
if you still want to go the 4ext way, you will have to unlock bootloader via htcdev.com again or use the same unlock code.bin that you used previously. then fastboot flash the recovery. then get a Rom that works with your bootloader version and flash it using 4ext recovery with smartflash turned on.
