I'm gonna jump on the locked sprint version. Just wanted to make sure that i understood before I flashed. You're saying that after flashing it, it is Not rooted? Also, are there any known issues I shouldn't worry about?
I really appreciate the work you do here. Thanks.

If you flash this and it doesnt work, what do you do then? We dont have an SBF for 2.3.5 do we and this will lock your bootloader and prevent a downgrade.

If rooted and bootstrap recovery works, shouldn't we be able to flash a nandroid backup to downgrade? I'm not sure if either of these are possible so I'll wait before trying anything.

I dont believe so. Once you install the new bootloader, youre stuck.
I want to give this a whirl, I just want to make sure I have a fallback before I do.

Ok, I flashed and it and it seemed ok ...I could not access settings....everything else was ok ...I made a backup first but now when I try to get into bootstrap to restore it doesn't work.....I was locked with root and bootstrap....but I am now stuck....any help ??????
I installed root checker and I am rooted .......just fyi ........stilll cant figure out how to restore nandroid.....

[Q] Want to flash ROMs....

Ok ima start by saying ive looked and searched and now im more lost than before i started... lol Ive flashed my cappy a bunch but i was waiting for gingerbread on my atrix, and now im so far behind on whats going on i dont know where to start. Was gonna start with cwm but then read some and thought i needed to root first, started that and now thought i need to unlock first. All i want is root and to flash roms. What order do i need to go in. Also not sure what cmw to use. Thanks in advance for anyhelp
You need to unlock the bootloader first, then install CWM, as for which version you should use it's tenfar's. After you've got that installed you'll be able to what you want.

thanks in advance for any answers...

actually his zip doesnt include the new bootloader so this shouldnt matter at all, it can for all intents purposes be treated as an unlocked rom and possibly a locked rom

no need to apologize, plenty of times i have jumped the gun trying to save fellow android users (from bricking, from themselves... etc etc ). for all intents and purposes you were trying to make sure no one flashed this and got a locked bootloader

sides as i said before gives me motivation to try and get kexec working on our phone so we can bypass the bootloader and have 4g

So if I'm reading this right this is a deodexed stock Rom of the new update without the new locked down bootloader. Your post says must be unlocked but is there any reason that this can't be flashed with bootstrap without unlocking?
What changes are we seeing with this (2.3.5 doesn't count)? Any fixes for things like wifi or lapdock500 support?
I gave this a try but I didn't have any service. No 3G and I couldn't make any calls or text so I just restored my backup. Not sure if I need to do something else though.

Looks like you need to change libmoto_ril.so from 198_7 or flash new radio. But BEWARE flashing new radio switches the fuse!!!
That means, you won't be able to run locked 198_7 and you must stay unlocked.

Please help!!

Did you do a full wipe? Data, cache, Davlik Cache?
It is a Best practice to do a full wipe when coming from a different rom or having problems with them. I had that happen to me and it worked well.

Trying to restore S4

I recently screwed up a rom by not reading in the middle of the night. I accidentally flashed a T-Mobile rom . Anyways, I have everything up and running, but I'm having a problem with restoring. Really, it just can't find the file for it. I'm not exactly sure how to fix this either.

No, I'm trying to use a restore I made before messing up.
You need to do that from the recovery console with CWM or TWRP. I'm not sure what you mean by looking for a file. There is none if you made a nandroid backup. Just browse to that file and your set.

1.What program did you use to make your backup? 2.Did you save it in internal memory or SD card, remember that if you wiped internal it may have wiped along with it, if its on your SD and your using twrp you have a few options.. You can hook your phone to your computer and search your SD card or find the file path by going through twrp. I have done this before, it's just simply a case of finding your backup...let me know if you still need help

Haha, fair enough. I figure it's always best to start with the easy questions, don't want to replace a motor when all you needed was an oil change, you know?
What recovery are you using? TWRP, or CWM, and have you tried flashing with another recovery other than the one your currently using?
I know it seems dumb, but sometimes some ROMs don't like to play nice with certain recoveries.
