I just got my Flyer from Cowboom yesterday, and it looked brand new. However, a lot of times the tablet will start pulling the lock itself, exiting applications by itself, click on random buttons by itslef, etc. Is this a normal thing to occur? How can I fix it? Should I send it back for a replacement?
Do you really need to ask ? Nope not normal.
Definitely not normal. Try doing a factory reset of the device and see if that it. If it doesn't, I'd return it.

In a thread on the Flyer forums, the poster had the same problem and someone told him it is fixed with a screen protector? Do you think that fixes it, because it doesn't seem like it would be a problem with the screen.

Freaking hilarious!
I have a similar problem. I recently bought a used Flyer and it came with the HTC pen. Here's my problem, whenever I use the pen to take notes, sometimes the pen will continue to write even though the tip isn't touching the screen. The tip is close to the screen but doesn't actually touch it. I was wondering if I had a defective pen.

There's too much ink in the pen. No that happens sometimes with new batteries
If you don't get that sorted out soon, your Flyer may go blind...

I had the same problem with mine and I thought the screen digitizer had gone bad. Mine was in a case that had some metal in it and after I took it out I have had no problems at all. Yeah, it sounds stupid but I now have a otterbox case which does not have metal and I have not had any problems. As far as the pen I took the batteries out and put them back in and fixed the pen problem.

I've had to do that with the pen. I found I must remove the battery for about a minute, then reinsert. Less than a minute it doesn't reset.

Anyone else having this problem?
Ive been through 3 flyers from best buy all with small pieces of dust under the screen
UPDATE: wow so i went to best buy with my box and charger and cables unopened with my flyer and asked if i could exchange my flyer because i have pieces of dust in my screen
i showed the worker then she brought the customer service manager named mitchel and looked at my screen and i showed him the dust and he was wiping it and looking and it is very visible but he told me he cannot see anything and i pointed with my finger where it is and it is very clearly under the screen
even the other worker lied to me
what should i do?
the customer service manager told me i could return it and get my money back but won't let me buy another flyer.
i don't get how that works either
Nope, but i was wondering when someone was going to op a thread on it. Seems like there's one of these threads in every tablet forum. Seeing how no one has brought it up yet, I would say it's not a big number of owners.
yeaa i was surprised how no one posted one of these
am i just getting all the tablets with the dust in it?
i feel bad for keep on exchanging at best buy

I also had a small piece of dust on the display. It is really annoying, because i'm always looking at that point knowing that it is there. I contacted HTC and they told me to speak with my dealer. I sent the flyer to them und they passed it to HTC.
I haven't got it back yet, but i really hope they fix that

how long have you had your sensation?
I returned my first flyer because of a small piece of dust under the screen that I found annoying. My second one had a dead sub-pixel which I found even more annoying. OCD? Maybe. Anyway number 3 seems ok but I find myself not looking too closely at the screen in case a spot something again!
Anyone else having issues with loose buttons on the side? Specifically the camera button is loose on mine, and when I shake my phone (don't do it too often ;-) you can hear a rattle. Wondering if it's worthwhile to get it replaced or if this really is a larger 'issue' and considered normal.
I contacted Nokia, but did not receive a response yet.
I'd take it straight back to the shop and get a replacement.

Yep, I'm going back anyhow - unfortunately they have no stock right now, but I already contacted them that I'm unhappy with this. Just not sure how they will respond when I'm actually physically there. Hopefully more info on that tomorrow.
I've been searching around and there appear to be numerous posts on the web of people with the same issue - so maybe it's "normal" or "within specifications".
Use rubber case
Hi,
I thought the same thing but that was before I fitted the rubber case. this rubber case isn't optional as it seems in the beginning. If you use the case everything fits snuggly.
I hope this solves your problem.

I had the same thing, took it back for a replacement.
Mine rattle slightly I wouldn't take it back because of it though. Your replacements... They don't rattle?

deffo norattle at all on mine though the power button is uber sensative and i have turned my phone off by mistake a couple of times, for some reason i see something that says slide down and i just do it without thinking lol.
FYI - I just replaced my phone for a new one, this one doesn't have the issue I described!
i have it as well...
but i won my phone in a contest, pretty strange to ask for a replacement then
And i'm used to it now so not annoyed any longer.
I don't like the rubber skin for the phone, it makes the phone look fat
So I just got my Note II last night and so far I love it. However, the S-Pen isn't working correctly (or I just don't know how to use it). When writing a note, the writing begins as soon as my pen is close to the screen and all my writing is connected and I can barely read it. Also, if I use the pen to select an app, sometimes it doesn't detect the pen and other times the item is launched as soon as the pen is close. I read that you need to keep the pen at a 45 degree angle, which I have tried, but still doesn't work very good. Is there a way to reset the pen feature? Is there some feature I need to enable/disable? Is it because of my Zagg screen protector?
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I want to use the pen but can't with the current issue.
Thanks,
Cary2238
you tried the pen banging method? Seems to work for some at least on overly sensitive pen.

You mean just bang the tip on something like a desk?
You should try to keep the pen perpendicular to the screen or 90°. Not 45°!
Does you pen nib move in and out when you put your finger on it? It should move in and out slightly. Maybe just under 1mm. You should only be able to write when the nib is pressed in. If you are able to write without the pen nib being in contact with the screen the nib is probably getting stuck.
I do not suggest you bang it against a hard surface although many claim that it works. You could try tapping it repeatedly against a hard surface (a hand mirror!?) to see if you can loosen it.

Thanks Dmwitz. Taping it several times seems to have loosened the tip and the pen works a lot better. :good:
I am having the same issue as the OP is having. I've tried the tapping mentioned but doesn't seem to help.
Weird how this is happening. If i can't figure out out I'll be returning mine for another one.
Ok, I had to really bang on the tip but all seems to be much much better. I just kept on letting the tip of the pen bounce off the top of my glass top table and then went into a new "note" and tried it, now it seems to be working likes is supposed to.

I had the same problem. The bang method only made it worse for me. It got to the point where I couldn't use it. I returned the phone and got a new one. Doesn't do it anymore. Glad to hear it is working better but I have a feeling it's going to happen again. Worse case, they are only $30 on amazon.
Best of luck.

I was wondering for anyone that have the black version of this case, does the flaps have magnets in them? It's listed for the other colors but not for the black. I found this kind of strange so I emailed them and it seems like they take forever to respond. So if anyone have this case, could you please comment? Thank you.
P.S. I'll also take recommendations for similar cases.

I don;t have this case, but many similar cases have magnetic closures. Why do you care?

This has to be the dumbest question ever "Why do you care?". The guy is obviously asking so that he can make a smart purchase than going in blind and come to find out its not what he wanted and then having to return the item back. If you don't have any helpful advise to give why even comment? The nerve of some people!

The case for my GTab 2 7" arrived yesterday. I'm used to rockin the tab "naked" but I'm liking the case. Nice and thin, magnets keep it closed nicely, all ports/buttons are available (including IR). Two little things... 1) It has a little loop for a pen or stylus which is annoying, I'll cut it off, and 2) the case doesn't lie perfectly flat against the tab in the area of the Samsung logo on the font of the tab, directly underneath the home/back buttons. A little annoying because when attempting to hit one of the buttons you first contact the case which is sticking up a bit.

Im a jerk? Come on man, think about your answer. If anything you came off being rude. You cant assume that all of these case with flaps have magnets as i have seen some with velcro and why tell the dude why does he care when he's asking for a reason. SMDH....
It took them days to reply but they finally gave me an answer. They say that it doesnt come with magnets so i bought a similar one but there's no cutout for the charging port(but in their pictures it did). Oh well and thank you for all the responses, much appreciated.
P.S. I care if they have magnets or not because it's more secure when my tablet drops than having the front part flap around on it's way down.

I took a picture of it for you not sure if that helps. The white you see by my finger is the paper i push into that spot. I believe it's the little flaps your talking about.
Just to add, or help someone else, I have this case. I like it for the price, and it leaves the face open.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Black-Slim-...es_Covers_Keyboard_Folios&hash=item2a25d206a5
It leaves all the ports and camera unobstructed. It's good for watching, but it is not "locked" into position, so tapping too hard on the screen will cause it to collapse flat. Only drawback.
Any idea what is that on my phone's screen?
Not possible to clean. only visible when the surfaces is wet..

I don't have any screen protector, the glass itself looks like deeper somewhere... ONLY IF WET.. The phone few weeks old... Its already my second s3 phone, because the first went wrong. I dont wan't to send back again... I can live with it... I just curious is someone else experienced same thing with gorilla glass?
Looks like something is wearing off the glass, seen an effect similar on a Panasonic toughbook with an early touch screen and anti-glare coating that wore away. Afaik the glass on these phones doesn't come with any protective coating so I'd try cleaning it all off, what ever it is.
Edit. Just read your post again, did you get replacement phone from Samsung or another source? Maybe replacement screen fitted with non-standard glass?
Is it inside or outside? Its hard to tell from the picture.
If inside, it could be the glass coming away from the LOCA (liquid ocular clear adhesive) that sticks the glass to the screen

I got my replacement phone from a retailer where originally i bought the first phone, but i saw strange "damages" on the phone from the very first time.. Hard to say as damage.. but for example the screen was look like dirty between glass and bezel (or some very thin white rhing was there)... another is a thin chrome-like paint layer missing on 3-4mm at the rear camera corner.. But the phone came in an original SEALED box.. so everything was look like a factory one.. I dont think the retailer shop playing with me... but this phone really looks like a refurbished. So i donno.. I was searching on the internet about gorilla glass problems but i didnt see anything like this...

its hard to say for me also.. I guess its maybe outside, and something like the glass is deeper. This all not so visible, I just noticed today and i using the phone more weeks now... I just noticed that I always see the same "pattern" when the screen a litle bit wet or has some fat on the top from my finger... If i clean it up as its possible, you cant see at all, just from certain viewpoint - also very transparent..
The picture that I uploaded is brighted up with photoshop, and i was breath on the screen.. But always the same pattern comes back.. I cant do anything.
Strange.... I can live with this problem. However I was paying the same money like anybody else who got a faultless phone...
Just realy curious, maybe someone already has same experience...
As stated earlier in the thread, I would hazard a guess it's the glass separating from the loca.
When I replaced my own glass parts looked like that as I begun the separation.

Something can be true here, because that area takes the fat faster.. If i pull over a wet paper on the screen, on this place will be more water than the other part of the screen, where just little bubbles. In this area will be a continous "water-spot"..
However i dont think i can wear down in 2-3 weeks...

Well I have seen reports of this wear popping up at fairly regular intervals.....I think, as with metals, some people's sweat/oil just reacts with the coating possibly
I thinking now: it was maybe come citric acid on my fingers at my workplace. although that must be visible almost everywhere on the screen. I used more than a year long a galaxy nexus in the same conditions. there i did never see anything like this.
i think if the coating is missing on my phone, it was missing already in the box...
do you think is that possible to replace the missing coating with any aftermarket spays? maybe i'll give a try for it if someone has experience with...

I would suspect that your 'new phone from a sealed box' was in fact a reconditioned unit with many thousands of hours use, hence why the screen coating is worn away.
Unless your citric acid solution was very strong, like you have holes in your fingers as well, I doubt this would cause it.
Again, best advise is to fit a £1 screen protector - it can save you from more than just scratches.
