Wrong section. Moved to general.
Tap tap 4 in Ace lags so bad and our touchscreen only supports 2 fingers at once. You cannot Full Combo Party Rock Anthem on Expert like I did in a Galaxy Tab, lol

Hello guys,
I was wondering if there is a tweak where I can double press the home button and lunch the task manager straight away instead of the voice command? This will be so much better and easier then holding the home button and then pressing the task mananger...

That was even ruder, Matraik is a very helpful guy around here. If you cant be bothered just holdin the home button for like a second go into apps and select task manager.

1. Go to your applications list.
2. Hit the first capacitive button bringing up the menu.
3. "EDIT"
4. Move the icons out of the bottom row and replace them with what you want.
hope it helps. took me a while to figure it out too. Had to replace the "browser"
Do I have to be rooted to do this? Sorry slow and new to some of this cool stuff!!!

A final step not mentioned, you then need to hit Menu and then Save, otherwise your changes won't stick.

What he said. Lots of reading. Plus the longer you wait, the easier and more bullet proof the root process will get. This is not like waiting endless months for an at&t update. There will be safe reversible one-click options before the end of the week most likely.

Any apps that does that...
Ex... I hold down the search button and it launches Google voice search...
But I want to hold down the back button and it launches S Voice, how do I set that up?
Cyanogen mod 7 ROMs have that feature

Moving to Q&A
Is there a way to disable them. I always accidentally hit them when I'm using the S note app
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using Tapatalk 2
You mean the capacitive buttons? I don't think there is an easy way to do it, you'd pretty much have to rewrite the framework. Maybe someone good in the kitchen has already done this and can help you. Good luck.

Some apps like lecturenotes allow you to disable the button while writing.

There is a thread in here about this.. and you should read the discussion about it... perhaps search with key word 'disable Capacitive buttons'?
Edit: this isn't the thread/discussion I was referring to but I just came by this piece of information, check it out....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=26651401
PLEASE BE SURE TO LET ME KNOW HOW IT WENT
because I want to disable those buttons myself but haven't had chance to root my Note and install custom ICS yet. Good luck!
Getting into the framework is the only place I have seen this
I have no idea what this is called or I wouldn't be asking on here. When I had the stock rom and I do a text or something I would always have little number on the top right of the app launcher to teller how any messages I have. Now since flashing devil toast,I don't. Is there an app for getting them back? Cheers

not sure if this is what you want:
settings>system>status bar>show notification count
if you want a count of unread messages, you're going to have to look into the settings of your messaging app.
hope this helps
Thanks but that's not what I'm looking for,I already have that on. I mean the little numbers over the app itself that tell you how many messages I have. E.g. when I receive a text,I get the notification in the status bar and on the text app itself. Sorry if I'm describing it wrong I just don't know how else to word it
Sent from my Evo 3D GSM using xda app-developers app
I believe the problem is that the AOSP messaging app that devil toast uses doesn't support that feature. The stock Rom uses HTC's messaging app which has the unread icon on the app shortcut. Anytime I've used an AOSP messaging app, it only shows notifications in the status bar, not on the app shortcut.

Ahh that's a shame, I didn't think I'd miss it to be honest but I can live without it. Thanks anyway!
