Hi, I've encountered a bit of a problem when I try to download picture messages using the stock Messaging app.
When I try download them it comes up with "Downloading" like normal, but after a few seconds I get a Force Close and can't downoad the picture.
I've tried GoSMS and Handcent and both of these encounter the "Messaging has stopped working" error.
The ROM I'm using is HyDrOG3N-ICS but from what I've posted in the thread, no one else is having this issue. Any ideas?

I've asked in the ROM thread and I've done several full wipes but it's still not working.

Right, so I reflashed the stock ROM and it worked.
I've tried a few other ROM's though and it still doesn't. It didn't work on Hydrogen ICS, Westcrip's ROM and it doesn't work on CyanogenMod9.
Any ideas? I obviously don't want to stay on the stock ROM. Could it be an AOSP issue with my phone? Going to try a Sammy ROM and see if that works.

Facing a strange issue with my SGS2
i didn't know what happen to it but i am on siyah kernel and tried to install few roms but any custom rom ICS 4.0.3 or 4.0.4 when i install them and on 1st boot it only show's me a blank black screen with task bar available... and by holding the toggle button on task bar i am able to open that perticular option, rest it is showing me nothing, not even the lock screen,
i had tried around 7-8different types or rom but they are not working properly even tried stock rom also showing me same issue, only when i install REVOLT JB rom or PFittech JB rom 1.1.3 it works fine, but iwant to install and try other roms also .. tell me how can i fix it up ?
no ics any custom or stock rom is working on it, only JB roms are working on it .. tried 2 JB roms and rest all ICS roms mention bellow are not working showing same issue ...

i think after you install news rom you press home+volume down+ power > restart you's phone> choice wipe data/factory reset & wipe cache partition and resboot

i always do this whenever i install the rom.
and face same issue...
i think it is something else ...

Try flashing a stock firmware. Go to sammobile.com, make an account and download the file there.. flash via odin

Same Case with me as well. I have a lenovo tab which has the same thing. No Launcher and it has a blank screen and that's it.
Just an idea but you could try to create a zip file of a custom launcher like nova trough titanium backup.
Flash it in recovery and see what happens when booting.

i tried wanam XXEMD3 and stock deoxded XXEMD3 with Googy-Max 1.4.6 kernel
i don't think its problem of kernel because i used it on XXEMD2 which is all fine.
today i flashed wanam XXEMD3 and when i running setup and connecting WIFI it keeps reports "Authentication error" or something , i think that's translation.
i thought it could be problem of ROM , and then tried stock deoxded XXEMD3, same , i figure maybe WIFI password i typed wrong ? although it's highly unlikely
and then i restored back to XXEMD2 with recovery , WI-FI works all fine ...
any idea ?
You should look for a wifi fix for your kernel or your ROM. This should to it. If there isn't any you should go to support of kernel or ROM. They should be able to fix this if no wifi Dix patch exists

It's OK now
I don't know what and where the problem was, but I figure reflash ROM several times solves problem, it's kinda pain in ass as sometimes I have to reflash it dozens times to have Wi-Fi work...

i don't know what was going on , but however i managed ...
again , really really really really really annoying as i have to flash something like kernel , Jkay and some other MOD.
first of all i thought it might be some MOD or kernel causing the problem so i only flashed ROM but problem remains ...
even same ROM , this time i flash it might be fine but next it could go wrong ...
It's an intriguing one. I assume you've tried full format of /system etc so I can't think what else it would be. Please update us if you work it out

Yes, sure, the wiping is like standard procedure , data, cache and system were always formatted before flash...

first of all i swear i have tried to look up other threads about my problem and i found some but with no result and why i wanna post a new thread is to explain my problem FULLY since im not sure that i have the exact same problem
Anyhow .. i have been using my I9100 for about 2 years on the same room which is Hyperdroid Andromida 7 which is a Gingerbread 2.3.7 i believe ... and recently i came to the dicision that i should update since new apps no longer work , and here is what i did :
Nandroid Backup along with SD and Internal backup to PC .. then a FULL wipe of the phone and the SD installed .. and after flashing a new kernel i installed the Resurruction Remix Kitkat 5.0 ROM which is 4.4 i believe
everything seemed cool even though i didnt get the chance to check much after i noticed that the camera wasnt working properly .. there was a lot FC and lagging on both FRONT and BACK
so i tried reflashing and redoing the whole wiping of cach and Delvick and such as .. no hope .. tried a new room that is based on stock JB .. i got better results but there was still lagging that i NEVER experianced in my gingerbread room..
so after i gave up hope with that i tried restoring everything as it was using the nandroid restore .. the results were better than the modified Stock JB but still not the same as before this whole thing ..
if anyone can guide me towards ANY kind of a solution i would be gratefull .. even if it means replacing the Cam i would do it even though i hardly think its a hardware issue

From gb to kk . is alot of difference.. In terms of stability.. Lol...
Best is to use a stock 4.1.2 custom rom...
thing is i never faced such thing in any other phones that i flash with custom roms .. and as i said even after i did a nandroid restore after this whole thing to the custom gingerbread that i had .. the cam didnt go back to how it used to be and there is still some kind of lagging
My hypothesis is that after the nandroid restore that i did from the which was going from Custom Stock JB to the Custom Stock Gingerbread .. something related to working of the camera has been left and wasnt effected by nandroid restore and appearently can only be changed when i flash a new room
( i hope i make sense )
so what do you think i should do to restore my cam to fully working condition ? or what should i try ?

At max i can suggest u to make full wipes
Wipe data
Wipe cache
Wipe system
Wipe dalvik
Wipe preload(if present)
And the restore ur nandroid backup
Also i hope u r nt having any placebo effect happens a lot here ..

even though i tried that before and no hope .. now that i tried it again it got even worst .. the camera opened only once and saw the image just for a sec and then after a while the app failed .. tried third party apps .. same thing .. video mode and front cam is the same
now i flashed the Neat ROM 4.1.2 and still no cam .. i really dont get what happend .. it worked perfectly befor i start this whole thing :S
help anyone .. i really need my camera back

Tried clearing camera app data???
Also try some camera mod to see if it helps
If nothing works... flash stock rom via odin

already tried the clearing camera app data with no success .. can you please tell me anything about camera modes ??
and apparently the front cam works now while the back fails

First of all thanks for your help mate but so far no luck .. just flashed a pure stock JB Via ODIN and the camera problem is still there .. i dont get what happend .. before going for the kitkat everything was working ( Hardware Wise ) .. now the back came no longer works at all .. am gonna try a stock gingerbread and see if its any help

If flashing gb stock rom doesnt works... Try flashing a camera mod or use some other camera app like focal(wont work wid gb) or camera360 to cross verify
I flashed this stock rom here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53767196 for my GT-i9200 Mega
coming from silentnight's flashable stock rom & another time from C-ROM 4.4.3,
each time i flash the stock rom (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=53767196) it completes, reboots just fine, and when it starts up my screen doesnt respond anymore ive tried factory resets and full wipes & reflashed multiple times, idk what to do to make it work.
i can still go back to custom roms and my screen works fine on those. ive even tried going to 4.2.2 official stock but that doesnt work either.
someone please help =(
If you have issues with particulary ROM then ask questions on this ROM's thread.Besides - how can you say so this ROM is stock? It isn't and ask developer for help.

i have asked multiple times and im getting no response which is why i took my question here. if u werent gonna help me figure out something u didnt have to reply. and i can say its a stock rom because thats what it is. Stock Russian 4.4.2 kitkat Update for the GT-I9200. the only thing is this developer removed knox & the recovery. ive tried both versions of the rom and ended in the same result.
I would say, to re download your original stock rom, and flash again. Maybe there was a problem with your first download. Or try to find the same ROM from a different source. Then download that one. There may have been something wrong with your original stocker..... Or, try a different version of Odin

I rooted my phone By using Odin3-v1.85. and flashed the recovery to cwm 5.x (i can't remember version) and tried to install custom ROM OMNI
(omni-5.0.2).
I accidently downloaded and installed OMNI for i9100G version. But my phone is i1900 version.
(I downloaded this omni-5.0.2-20141222-i9100g-HOMEMADE.zip ). i forgot to backup previous ROM .
Then i was unable to Turn ON my phone because every time i turn it on, it come back to recovery it self (it's a bootloop i think).:crying::crying:
then i flashed the recovery to CWM-KitKatCompatible-i9100 (version 6.0.2.7) and installed custom ROMs and tried (PACMAN,CM,AICP).
It works fine. everything is just perfect. But i can't make calls or receive.
It says "Mobile Network not available". when i call my phone from another phone i hear ringing it. But nothing shows in my phone. after few seconds i got a Missed call Alert. But this happens only sometimes. All the other times. i cannot call it from another phone.
I tried reset and flash modem using CWM as well as from odin. but no luck.
Please Friends Help me. I don't know whether i put this thread to right section or not. sorry about that.
I did all of these things by surfing XDA forum (as a Guest). And i'm happy about what you guys are doing. Keep it up.:good::good:

You might need to reflash stock rom, then try flash custom rom again.

I reflashed to stock rom and it's working fine.
But i tried to install custom Rom again but no luck there. I was again stuck with Mobile network problem.
May be the problem with kernal.
Any suggestions???

You will have to flash stock 4.1.2 rom or try a 4.1.2 custom rom. The problem may be caused by the drivers in the built in kernels but I'm not completely sure.
No mobile network on custom roms
I have already flashed the 4.1.2 jellybean rom but 4.1.2 rom also havr bugs. Lock screen doesn't work, I had tried hard resetting but it doesn't solve the problem. I Want use 5.0.2 hazy , cynogenmod, pacman , dirty unicorn, etc and other many custom roms but I'm facing same problem no mobile network, other than that everything work fine....

You mean stock 4.1.2 rom? That's very weird for a 4.1.2 stock rom. Maybe an android 4.2 or 4.3 rom?
You are saying that I should try 4.2 or 4.3 custom rom??

use another baseband version. I use XXMS4 and I recomend it.

Yep.
I am having same problem with the network connectivity. It happens with all custom ROMs that aren't stock based. I am stuck with Chameleon ROM which is a hybrid and has a stock samsung base. It is a great ROM but is outdated. I would like to upgrade. Any solution to this problem is welcomed. = D
Okay I think I got a solution here. The procedure is:
1) Make sure you are on a stock based ROM or other ROM where your network is working.
2) Backup EFS.
3) Flash custom ROM of your choice.
4) Restore EFS if there is no network.
Done.
To restore efs, you can use any app tailored to do so but for me it didn't work. I followed this thread:

Follow the steps carefully and you will have network in any ROM you like. Hit thanks if helped.
PS: Sorry for double post
EDIT 2: Even though my network is back, which confirms that the problem was with the missing IMEI. I found out that the IMEI I got now is a fake one. Got to get the real one back now..
