[Q] Samsung Exhibit II - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a friend who runs a tmobile store. He buys used phones when people upgrade. He has a Samsung Exhibit II and the guy who sold it to him didnt disable the pattern unlock so now he is stuck with it. I have gone into recovery on my Evo and some other phones to do a factory reset but im unfamiliar with the Samsung. Is there a way to factory reset or is it done through Odin?

[Q] UNROOT Samsung S2? (Found it $100 cheaper, find out where inside!)

Hey guys!
I found the Samsung Galaxy S2 for $499 in London Drugs (Canada), and since its within 14 days, I would like to return my phone to Bell and buy it from them. Only thing is that I just rooted my phone and I don't think Bell would be too happy about me returning a rooted phone. If I do factory reset, will that work, or am I hooped?
Thanks!

since you rooted, you must have used an insecure kernel and that your phone is booting up to i-9100 and not i-9100M. Since there isn't any available firmware yet for Bell version (i9100M) you're pretty much screwed for now.
However, what are the chances those Bell reps will reboot your phone and notice the difference with i-9100 and i-9100M?
I'd flash one of the leaked 'STOCK' KG2 firmware. This way, it's not rooted, and you don't have the yellow triangle...the only thing is, you're missing the 'M'.
@shawnjan8 get a usb jig on ebay this will remove the yellow triangle and fling on a stock firmware as per cue_32
Wow London Drugs sells it for 499? That's a good deal!

Verizon and NO vaseline....

Verizon is really trying to screw their customers over. http://www.androidauthority.com/ics-firmware-droid-razr-razr-maxx-droid-4-comes-root-checker-110802/
No different than the galaxy s 3 flash counter. Only they can reset it and we cannot as of yet.
there is already a thread about it and its not completely true http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1857558

[Q] What phone do I even have?

Alright, sorry for making another thread but this is really frustrating me.
I got this phone off ebay. I didn't know much, but it was the i9300 version. When I booted the phone, it says i9300. But whenever I booted into download it said "T999" (AT&T version). And I looked back the ebay listing I bought off of, and I now realize the title said:
"Samsung Galaxy S III GT- I9300 16GB - Marble White (Unlocked) (AT&T) GLOBAL USE!"
What does that even mean? I got the I9300 AT&T version? How does that make sense? I'm upset because I tried flashing the stock rom and I soft bricked my phone and now I'm stuck. Everywhere I see people are saying I need to get it serviced. But I can't, its the international version. Where would I get it serviced? I live in Ohio. Now I can't install any ROM/bootloader/reformat PIT because I have the T999 bootloader on a I9300 phone. Do you think I should contact the ebay seller? Is this my fault or his fault?
The phone description said "never used" but when I got it I booted into download mode it said "custom" software and had been flashed 7 times. I'm past warranty period, though.

Definitely contact the seller and report him. Ask for a replacement or the money back.

Samsung s7 locked

Hi,
I bought a samsung s7 off ebay used for my daughter to play games on at home. "Wifi only no SIM". The phone is locked and requires original owners samsung account to allow me to use. I'v already factory reset but still have samsung account activation due to abnormal factory reset. My guess is the phone was stolen or never removed account? How to I get around this? can i just load a custom rom on it to get around? If so could you point me in the correct direction? Phone is SM-G930V. Thank you all in advance.

Friend Managed to Trigger Google FRP on his Dad's Phone. Is it Bricked?

So what happened was my friend's father couldn't remember his PIN. So my friend booted into recovery and reset the phone, a Samsung A70. When it started back up Google Factory Reset Protection kicked in and requires either the original PIN (forgotten) or the gmail password ... which he cannot remember.
The only access to the account is an old Samsung Note that is still logged into the Google account, so emails can be checked. Other than that: no access.
Went into the local samsung Authorized Repairers, who referred us to Samsung, who said they would not help because the phone was bought overseas, not that they confirmed that they COULD help if it was bought here. The dad is not planning any overseason holidays so not sure if they phone could ever make it back to a local Samsung dealer.
In other words: the perfect storm of dealing with parent's technology.
Is the phone bricked and/or only option flashing a Google free ROM?
Is there anyway to unlock the device with ODIN?
Now I am not sure if it can be flashed without logging in to unlock bootloader ... so maybe it is bricked
