Hi,
I bought a samsung s7 off ebay used for my daughter to play games on at home. "Wifi only no SIM". The phone is locked and requires original owners samsung account to allow me to use. I'v already factory reset but still have samsung account activation due to abnormal factory reset. My guess is the phone was stolen or never removed account? How to I get around this? can i just load a custom rom on it to get around? If so could you point me in the correct direction? Phone is SM-G930V. Thank you all in advance.

I see that the international s2 is able to use the samsungdive.com services (tracking, locking, and wiping lost or stolen samsung products), but ours are not able to. I am assuming AT&T has something to do with this and asked Samsung to remove it from the phone in order to force us to use AT&T's find my phone and family features. I think they cost extra too.
I am frustrated to say the least that my buddy at work is able to access these features on his international s2 as am I on my Galaxy Tab 10.1.
I tried to remove the 'Samsung account 1.0' from my tab 10.1 and restore it on my s2 but was unsuccessful in getting it to work. Anyone else want to take a stab at this? If you sucessfully enable it, there should be an option under location and security that opens up called, "remote services".
Good luck!
You really need to "Rethink Possible." Just another "enhancement" brought to you by your favorite wireless company.
Agreed.

About a month ago I safe rooted my Samsung Galaxy S4. I never ended up doing anything with it, and I never had any issues. Then about a week ago I got an update for Android 4.4.2 and now I can't use Google Play, YouTube, Google Drive, or anything with a Google account. I get the "Can't establish a good connection to server" error. I know it was my device because a friend of mine, who never rooted his device, had the same update and everything was working perfectly for his Samsung Galaxy S4. So I waited a while and tried the connection again. I tried on my internet, his internet, my data plan, and my school's internet, and every time it was the same error. I was starting to get a bit aggravated. I went online and I saw ways to fix it by checking date and time and confirming they were correct, doing a cashe and data clear, and hard resetting my phone. My phone no longer had root due to the update, but when I did a hard reset I still get the Samsung Custom logo with an unlocked lock when I turn it on, also the issue is still not solved. I do not know what to do and I am very upset because I thought this would be quick and I need to use my phone. How do I get rid of the error and how do I actually reset my phone. Remember I cannot download any apps because of the error, and I can't fix the error because I am assuming the update screwed something up on my phone. I was told safe rooting does not void warranty, but I have a feeling I was lied to when I safe rooted. Please help me fix this stupid problem, I do not have the money for a new phone.
Hi all,
Please forgive me if this is not the right Forum. I am kind of desperate to get an answer and don't quite know where this fits in.
I bought an S6 from Kogan (Australia). Atfer a few weeks the phone went mental to put it politely. I sent it back in for repair or replace. The Kogan team tells me they need my Samsung account to fix the phone. They claim my Samsung account is linked to that phone and that they can't replace it unless I remove it. According to them this is true even after a factory reset. They won't process my warranty claim with it.
Does anyone know what they are talking about?
The phone btw does not have a password, lock or anything else on it. As mentioned they claim to have factory reset it. They won't create or use a temporary account either.
Thank you
J
Hello All,
New to the forum here, and not nearly as advanced as some of the posters I have read, but I am fresh out of options and need some assistance. I will try to be brief but my tale is a bit long.
I purchased a phone from Samsung, but through a trade in program through AT&T. The phone arrived and I sold it to someone on eBay as unlocked, but turns out it was network locked so I had to accept the return. I got an unlock code from AT&T and it wouldn't work, and then somehow the phone was thrown into factory reset mode along the process.
I am now dealing with an "Unable to access web browser for Wi-Fi sign in due to an Unauthorized Factory Reset." This phone has never actually been logged into, and as far as I know is still network unlocked. I have tried clearing the cache (thrown crap at he wall at this point).
Any direction would be appreciated here. I am stuck with this brand new phone, which is essentially a paper weight.
Assuming you have tried another factory reset and it didn't work, the last thing you can try is either flash the firmware with odin or contact samsung.
> This phone has never actually been logged into
Maybe your buyer logged in and then didn't remove his account. That might cause some problems with factory reset attempt without account credentials (I'm not sure exactly what happens if you try to reset someone else's phone, but I know Google won't let you end up with a useful phone afterwards for theft protection reasons)

So what happened was my friend's father couldn't remember his PIN. So my friend booted into recovery and reset the phone, a Samsung A70. When it started back up Google Factory Reset Protection kicked in and requires either the original PIN (forgotten) or the gmail password ... which he cannot remember.
The only access to the account is an old Samsung Note that is still logged into the Google account, so emails can be checked. Other than that: no access.
Went into the local samsung Authorized Repairers, who referred us to Samsung, who said they would not help because the phone was bought overseas, not that they confirmed that they COULD help if it was bought here. The dad is not planning any overseason holidays so not sure if they phone could ever make it back to a local Samsung dealer.
In other words: the perfect storm of dealing with parent's technology.
Is the phone bricked and/or only option flashing a Google free ROM?
Is there anyway to unlock the device with ODIN?
Now I am not sure if it can be flashed without logging in to unlock bootloader ... so maybe it is bricked
