[Q] how to unbrick my samsung galaxy s2 hd lte? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I update ICS to my samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE failed maybe cause I'm using an i9100 ICS rom.
when i restart the phone, it goes into an phone icon connected to a PC icon with an exclamation mark icon inbetween.
or I can't turn it into recovery mode by pressing Volume Down + Home + Power (or any other key combos) .
I can't find the device by adb via pc, and kies connect the phone also failed.
I think the phone is bricked when I can't get into download mode.
even if i use a usb plugin, it goes to "Factory mode" with "phone ! PC" icon, but not down load mode.
how can I recove my phone? any one have andy idea?
thanks!

What about fastboot? Is that working?

you flashed the wrong firmware. there is no ICS for your device yet.
what do you have exactly SHV-E120 k, s, or l? or another variant? you must get the correct firmware then try again with Odin.
Try thise procedure described here ... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=751210
to get you back to download mode.

are you trying to root your phone
yeah I'm trying to root a device .. but now it has not work and a black screen .. I tried to on but does not work ..
Try and get into download mode. Make sure the phone is switched off (pull the battery out for a minute then put it back in). Then press the volume down & home buttons & keep holding them down. At the same time press the power button until you boot into download mode.
If you can get into download mode, connect your phone to PC via USB & start Odin. Check Windoze Task Manager & make sure Kies isn't open. If it is, close Kies & it's associated processes. Now, if Odin recognises your phone & you have COM highlighted in yellow, you should be able to fix it.
At this stage, download stock firmware from Samfirmware if you haven't already. From there, flash the stock firmware in Odin and follow whatever instructions Samfirmware have for flashing firmware downloaded from their site (important).
Now...If you can't get into download mode, you can try a jig. If the jig doesn't work, you'll either need to get a JTAG repair done, or send it in to Samsung/your carrier for repair.

Ok. What file/s were you using in Odin and what did you put where?
I think I've heard of similar things happen before when flashing galaxy s firmware on an S2.
As MB said, your only chance is to get download mode working before having to send it off.

This is a forced download mode. Essentially means you have to flash a working firmware before the phone will boot.
huhhhh...
I think to send the device to Samsung, is he able to find damage caused by my error?

I have tried but failed ...

Flashed Wrong Recovery - CWM and Download mode don't work

I tried to Unroot my Galaxy Tab 10.1 LTE last night and think I may have bricked my tablet. I used the instructions here on the XDA forum which had a link to all the Stock ROM's in one place. I got the most recent one and the only one for USA but it said it was for the model 7510. I didn't think that would be a problem since the USB drivers I installed on my PC were also labeled as being for the 7510 and they worked.
This tablet is the SCH-I905. Now I can't get it to boot at all. Gets stuck in a boot loop. Shows the Samsung logo, then resets and does it again. I can't get it in recovery mode either. Goes to a black screen and hangs.
Using the normal process to get to Download mode doesn't work. Holding Power and Volume Up, then letting go of the Power button, then pressing Volume Down and then Up. That's one weird thing. I can get to the option screen that shows the Download and Recovery mode options. Normally I would hit the Volume Down button to select Download mode and on the screen it says to press Volume Up to continue or Volume Down to cancel. If I press Volume Up it goes to a black screen and hangs. If I press Volume Down I get the Odin Download screen that says Waiting on USB cable.
That screen doesn't look the same as what I normally see but I'm not sure what's different. I didn't memorize each line of text. I just know there's not as much text there as there usually is. My PC will not recognize the tablet no matter which USB port I try to use and the tablet doesn't recognize that the USB cable is plugged in. I had no problem with the USB connection before I flashed the 7510 stock ROM.
So, if I cannot get to recovery mode and I can't get Download mode to work so I can use Odin to flash a different rom then is this thing bricked or is there something else I can try? I am about to try using my laptop and its USB ports but I don't think that's going to make any difference.
BTW, I have since found the correct 'stock recovery rom' at droidbasement.com and downloaded it to my PC. I just need to get on the tablet somehow.
Many people have your problem. I have my Lte verizon bricked as yours. The problem is demaged bootloader, only nvflash can fix it but actually our bootloader is locked and we need a hex key called sbk. At least we have to wait that somebody hack our tab from the basement. For now we can only search and share result.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S2 ROM Installed but really bricked

Hi everyone,
Just joined the XDA Developers group to get some expert opinion from the Gurus here.
I have been using the ROMs to upgrade my many android phones successfully in the past from Motorola Cliq, to Orange San Francisco to my Galaxy S2 to now Galaxy Tab P1000.
The trouble came when I thought of upgrading my wife's Samsung Galaxy S2, and I will be dammed if I cant fix her phone.
The phone was on Android 2.3.6 before I tried my hands on it.
I downloaded an ICS ROM (I9100XXLPQ_I9100OXALPQ_I9100XXLPQ_HOME.tar.md5 from dont know where) and used Odin v1.85 to flash the phone. Everything went well until the phone rebooted.
After the reboot the phone entered the OS, but now I have no home screen except the status bar on top which I can pull down. The status bar is fully functional i.e. it shows that its connected to wifi, shows its on Silent mode, shows the right time, and battery and also the USB connected icon when I plug in the USB.
The trouble is I cant do anything else as there is nothing else in display, I cant switch to apps screen and therefore I cant get on to Settings or Google Play to install any apps to reboot into recovery mode.
The worst part is that the phone now doesnt go to download or recovery mode, whatever I try (volume up/down, with or without home key pressed, with and without USB cable plugged in etc).
All I can do is to connect the phone using USB and transfer from and to files to it.
Can someone help me to understand how to recover this phone, and if there is any other way to go to download or recovery mode without using any key combinations? or if I can remotely run the apps from a PC using a USB cable? Samusng Kies does seem to recongise the phone, but I have been unsuccessful in using "Emergency Firmware Recovery" or "Firmware Upgrade and Initialisation" so far on the phone.
Any help will really save my time to continue my research on other home projects to keep my lovely wife happy :silly:
1-download stock firmware from sammobile.com
2-go to download mode - vol down+home+power button at the same time
3-start odin and put firmware to pda collum, dont touch anything else on odin
4-conect usb to pc
5-flash firmware
Mistahbungle can come over to your house with a usb jig and fix your phone and your wife can thank him personally....
yeh you need usb jig. as you cannot go to download mode also... hope you got your lunch and dinner

[Q] Soft bricked i777

Hey guys, I really need help with my situation. I've been looking all over the forums for 2days straight trying to find solutions to my problem. I have a galaxy s2 i777 and I had the sho-stock3 rom. Then I decided that I wanted to back up my rom, so I used rom manager to do it. that's when the problem started. when the phone tried restarting it was stuck where it says "galaxy s2" with the yellow triangle. I put it into download mode and tried to flash siyah kernel..it worked..but when I tried to reboot my phones says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue, please select recovery mode in kies and try again. of course kies wont let the phone connect. and yes all the drives are installed for my phone. now i'm just stuck trying to flash stock firmwares for the phone and the stock rom but it always fails in odin. please help me!!!!!

Can you put the phone into download mode? I would assume the answer is yes if you still get the "connect to kies" message. Following are detailed instructions for getting into download mode.
Download Mode:
There are several ways to put the phone into download mode. You should try all of them that you can before you give up.
Recovery mode:
With the phone off (and not connected to the computer), and battery installed, hold all three buttons, vol- vol+ pwr continuously until the initial boot screen appears the second time.
Download mode:
1. With the phone off and connected to the computer via USB cable, and battery installed, hold all three buttons, vol- vol+ pwr.
2. With the phone off and battery installed, hold vol- and vol+ (but not pwr) while plugging in the USB cable.
3. With the phone off and battery installed, hold vol- (but not vol+ or pwr) while plugging in the USB cable.
4. Attempt each of the above three options with the battery removed from the phone. The computer will supply the power to the phone.
5. Use Android Debug Bridge (adb) which will only work if USB debugging has been already turned on in Developer Options, since you can't boot into the system to turn it on. With the battery installed and the phone connected to the pc via USB cable, use the command "adb reboot download".
6. Use a USB jig. With the battery installed insert the USB jig into the USB connector of the phone. Some have reported that this method works when no other method would work.
If the phone will go into download mode, you will need to use Odin desktop to flash the stock firmware. You should use the latest stock firmware. Go to the Download Repository and download Odin3 v1.85 from the link near the top of the page, and also download the latest stock firmware, "I777UCMD8 Stock Binaries (Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean)" from near the bottom of the page. It's the next to last item. Download both to your Windows pc, and then follow the detailed instructions below to flash it onto your phone.
How to use stand-alone Odin3 to flash firmware:
Follow and recheck each of the following steps. Do them in order listed, as some steps are dependent on previous steps. Instructions are for Odin3 v1.85. It should work with any version of Odin, but some details, like color of items, may be different.
1.) Open Odin on the Windows Desktop.
2.) Have the USB cable plugged into USB port on the computer, but *Not* plugged in to the phone.
3.) Shut the phone off.
4.) While holding down the vol+ & vol- keys, plug micro-usb plug into phone.
5.) In Odin, you should get the yellow box under where it says ID:COM with the text 0:[COMx], and in the Message area, <ID:0/00x> Added!! where x is some number, usually 1-8.
6.) In Odin, make sure Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time are checked and all other items are not checked.
7.) Click on the PDA button. Browse to the tar file you want to install and select it so its path appears in the text edit box next to the button.
8.) Make sure the check box next to the PDA button is checked.
9.) Click the Start button.
10.) You should see the green progress bar advancing.
11.) When complete, you will get a PASS (or FAIL if unsuccessful).
The phone should boot up normally. If it does not, enter recovery (see instructions in the download mode section) and perform a wipe data/factory reset.

GT-S5830i enters in recovery mode but not in downlod mode

Hi guys,
I tried but I couldn't find a similar case, so I'm creating this thread...
Well I was flashing my cousin's mobile using this tutorial:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2583895
So I had to install the "ClockworkMod Recovery 6.0.4.6 or above", fine, I followed the procedure and it stopped to boot. It freezers when the Samsung logo appear.
Oks, so I started to try to unbrick it following this tutorial http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840645
However my cousin cannot put the mobile on 'Downloading mode'. Well I don't have physical access to the device because I'm in UK and he is in Netherlands...
First question, is there the possibility that indeed the mobile cannot goes to download mode (even thought it goes to recovery mode), or is he probably doing something wrong?
Second, buying a jig cable is it likely that I'll be able to do to download mode? And does any jig cable works? So far I'm panning to buy this one http://www.ebay.nl/itm/USB-JIG-Sams...zer_Ersatzteile_Werkzeuge&hash=item417e78520a
1) That CWM is for GT-S5830, not GT-S5830I.
Get your facts right.
And since you already flashed it,
well
good luck
2) If you can boot into recovery but not download, you have screwed up your phone big time. Attempting to flash a ROM or kernel may help, or it may backfire and make it worse. It may be your last hope before USB Jig.
3) The Jig is the last hope for your phone. It may work, it may not. Depends on luck, maybe.

I completely agree with @NightRaven49. You have pretty much hard-bricked your phone. USB Jig might not work always as it didn't help solve any hard-bricked Galaxy Ace S5830. You last option will be to go to Service Center. Hope I Helped
Well, thanks guys... I will try my luck with the jig cable...
One last question, I have to download a firmware from www . sammobile. com/firmwares/ . So as it was bought in Germany with no sim card, the correct firmware is 'Germany - DBT', right?
Any firmware should (technically) work on your phone.

You can use any firmware but I suggest you go with one based on your region. Hope I Helped
Here's How
CWM 6+ is only for Ace S5830 (Not i Not c Not M)
apparently we only have CWM5 for our Ace-i (which is sad), of course you're phone will be soft bricked if you try to do so
also Ace-i has a different key combinations compared Ace
Ace-i
Recovery Mode = Home Button + Volume Up + Power [when Samsung Galaxy Ace screen appears, let go already]
Odin / Download Mode = Volume Down + Volume Up + Power [same procedure]
hope i helped
i think ur talking about download mode is not working (vol up+ vol down+ power) !! 1st open odin and add ur files !! pull out battery use that combo buttons (volup+voldown+power) and connect device to pc !!! odin will detect ur device ! now enter battery in mobile and start flashing !!! good luck it works !!!
