Battery icon and discharge info don't match - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Would you say that icon top right is 64%? I'd say more like 85%, no?

Seriously, you get worried over that? Don't trust the GUI, just trust what it says under battery stats.
Chris.

The default battery icon that is in the stock firmware is only updated about every 15% or so, until you get to 20% battery remaining, then it's updated every 5%, I think.
There are many mods around (you can search for them in the Themes & Apps section) to get a modded battery icon that has the percentage number displayed as well, that is updated with every 1 percent instead.

Cheers mate. I'll look for one of those mods. Never had any problem with the battery icon in gingerbread, it always reflected an accurate representation of what my battery life was.

Why the hell shouldn't I be worried about that? I want an accurate visual at a glance of where my battery is at. Makes me laugh these people that say I'm being petty over a fairly important function, while they're obsessing over some fancy custom rom that in the grand scheme of things is pretty insignificant. It's a phone.

[Q] Android System Draining Battery? *Pics Inside*

Hi All,
Ive had my sgs2 for about a week or so now and have been trying diff. custom roms almost every other day. Last night, after flashing the new villainrom 2.3 and its recommended modem, i think ive been getting the best battery life ive had so far....
HOWEVER, i find that my battery is draining for no reason still. I'm a long time android user, but also have an iphone 4. I dont expect my battery to be as great as the iphone 4's, but unnecessary drain is a little annoying. When I check my battery usage, this is what shows (look below), is this normal?
ive only used the display for about 2.5 hrs in 12 hrs, and thats the drain im getting.
Oh, and juice defender was JUST installed like 5 mins ago, so disregard that.

Why dont you try installing 2.3.4 KG1? I have it on and it seemed to have increased the battery life. Did you check any processes that are not shutting down?
Vr2.3 is based on kg3.
That looks ok, use titanium backup to freeze anything you don't use.
The most useful part of the battery info is the zoomed in graph with awake time etc.
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
Villainrom still has all the samsung bloatware in it. I have cognition and man my battery lasts long. No weird apps running in the background. Just JD Ultimate taking care of even more powersaving.
With regular texting and app usage (of course differs to any type of person) I get 32-36 hours of usage.

[Q] Bad battery life

Hello, 3 days ago I've installed CM10.1 nightly build from 2013-07-25 on my friend's Galaxy S III (international), now his battery life is really bad and he's complaining on me, any way I can improve the battery life?
Here goes a screenshot (as you can see, he wasn't even using the phone when the battery just dropped 50%):

Cyanogen mod roms are known to drain battery much faster than touchwiz.so you cant really expect the battery life to be the same as on stock or stock based roms. you may improve the battery life by using an app called Greenify. it hibernates apps so that they will not run in the backround. this can help considerably. also make sure to turn off gps , bluetooth, wifi. and mobile data when not in use.
well first tell your "friend" that thats how things are in AOSPs. Secondly use differrent kernels and proper setting to get max battery (tutorials are available) plus greenify apps you do not use. And the usual killers as GPS/WiFi/NFC/3G use only when needed or turn them off..
Something is extremely wrong there. Get a normal usage BBS dump and post it here. Also take screenshots of the BBS pages.
Also post a screenshot of your battery stats page (one that shows which apps drain battery).

Seems not to work on my i9300 with cyanogenmod.
There is just nothing happening...
David.
nothing happening on stock either.all I'm seeing is when quick start is touched the screen goes black and when power is pressed i am at the lockscreen. swipe and go back to the battery stats. no idea what it does other than turn off screen
after reading this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=30512141 apparently quick start somehow recalibrates the battery as many have reported either a large increase or decrease in the percentage.
I was reading ur thread and dialed this code.. i pressed quick start and boom screen was off.. when i again turn it on my battery level was dropped to 19% from 65%
I plugged in charger and repeated the same thing it goes again to 65%
Once more after pressing quick start and this time not charging again it dropped to 35% i re do it and now i am on 65%
I am on stock rom with no battery issues.. if any thing happens to me i am gonna sue u lol... any one please tell me what is this and what has happened to me ... i dont wanna get any battery problems
May be it is for use in emergency..
And i am already in that mode with higher percentage allowed
I am going to restart mt device now .. i am worried now
"quick start" is for setting the battery gauge. It loads the cpu and then resamples the battery. What I wish to know is what files or nvram items it changes.

Battery drop when not in use.

Hello , i'm on an investigation why did my phone died last night. Basically i left it on 33% and in the morning the phone was completely dead! Usually it never took more than 15% overnight. I was unable to determinate the problem via BBS because as you may know BBS doesn't really work on 4.4 Kitkat (even if set as system app). The only thing i can show you is the build-in battery monitor graph. See the red section - no screen times , no waking , no GPS , no Wi-Fi but the graph is still going down. I always keep an eye on my battery stats and overal phone health but this is the first time i'm experiencing such issue.

That graph is essentially useless/tells us nothing whatsoever. I'd be replacing the battery (might want to do a clean install of JB stock first to make sure it isn't a KK rom problem).

That graph is basically all i have without BBS.
Yes, I know that. And as I've said, it's useless. What exact information are you expecting anyone else to glean from it that you haven't already done yourself (We're not mystics) ? It's a simple/basic graph, it provides simple/basic information, which won't answer your questions/give you info to enable you to solve your problem.
Stock kernel?Any undervolting?Maybe it freezed and that drained your battery.

Battery Issue

Hi, I have a Redmi Note 3go mediatek and my battery drain is really horrible. I think the battery is dead because i have seen my battery losing endurance over time and I have tried flashing a custom ROM and still have poor battery life. I don't see any application draining my battery so much. However the battery health in Android information is "good" so I don't know, is this accurate ? Also, my screen is broken, could it drain battery ? Is my screen battery usage normal ? I want to know if the battery is really dead because if it is i'll buy a new one and try replacing it. Hère are some screens of my battery usage on normal use of the phone :
