[Q]How to root 1.11.00011 with HTC boot unlocker tool? - HTC Flyer, EVO View 4G

So, basically I wanted to root my Flyer (NA Wifi 16gb Honeycomb). When I tried following the normal instructions, I quickly figured out that HBoot version 1.11.00011 isn't supported by the Revolutionary tool. I then found out that HTC has an official boot unlocker, which I used. I assumed this was the same as getting S-Off, so I followed the rest of the instructions normally. I think I managed to flash my recovery with a ClockWorkMod .img (my CMD told me it had written it successfully), but when I then tried to boot from recovery, I got stuck on the HTC splash screen (stayed infinitely). When I then checked my Fastboot screen, I realized it still said S-On (eventhough, on top it now say Unlocked). So I did a bit more research, and I think that the only way to gain S-Off is by downgrading to Gingerbread. However, other people reported successfully flashing their HTC Flyer using the HTC boot unlocker (none of them provided instructions on hwo to do so, though). So do I have to downgrade to Gingerbread (which I don't want to), or is it possible to gain root access by using the HTC boot unlocker, and bypassing the Revolutionary tool?
EDIT: I have looked into the downgrading, procedure, and it doesn't look that hard, and I will be able to upgrade right back to HC. However I can't find a working file link for the download. Globtron posted one, but unfortunately it limits free users from downloading (tells me to wait for an open slot, and I have been waiting for a while). Can someone post a dl link for RUU_Flyer_BrightstarUS_WWE_1.36.1540.32_R_Radio_20.3501.30.089BU_3809.05.04.10_M_release_191425_signed.exe OR RUU_Flyer_BrightstarUS_WWE_2.27.1540.31_R_Radio_20.3504.30.089BU_3809.07.04.06_M_release_204116_signed.exe
It would still be great if someone could figure out how to do this without having to downgrade, only using the HTCdev tool.

[Q] Custom splash screen with HTC Root Method?

If there is a thread that answers this please post a link. I rooted my Evo 3D using the HTC method and I've found so far that the only way to put a customer splash screen on is if you used Revolutionary. Has anyone found a way to do this using the HTC method?
If you rooted with HTC's method and still have S-on you shoud be able to flash any .zip file from recovery (including kernels and splash screens) if you follow the directions in this thread. Post 2 tells you how to boot into the bootloader and recovery using adb and fastboot, allowing you to flash whatever you need to. You must have Android SDK installed to use this method. Hope this helps.
When I place a PG86IMG.ZIP on the root of my SDcard, it does detect but stops at parsing package, I've let it sit there for several minutes but no progress. I can install boot animations at will using root explorer. So flashing the PG86IMG.ZIP is not an option I believe, if I'm wrong please let me know, it is only detected when entering the bootloader.
As far as Im concern you must have S-OFF. SO people with S-ON Rooted(HTC METHOD) can't flash splash screen ATM..
Would it be possible to fastboot push the splash image? I don't recall the commands right now but I know way back in the G1 days we used fastboot to push them.

[Q] Hboot 1.5 Unlock Not Working

So I've been following the progress of the Evo 3D for a bit, decided ok I'll get one, and now am at a loss. I've tried every method posted on this site to try and unlock my phone, the TWRP method, Revolution, HTCDEV method, all of them, and none of them are working for me. With the HTC DEV method, I flash the unlock code.bin and there it stops. Tried running the RUU and I get errors, Revolution doesn't even support my hboot version and TWRP is also for older hboot versions. The only one I haven't tried is a method listed in the Express rom thread, there is supposedly a file called reboot3d.zip but the file isn't there anymore for me to try. I'm at my wits end. All I want is to flash a new rom and recovery, unlock my wifi tether and remove some bloatware, why is this so difficult? Has anyone had any success with an unlockable phone by any means? Please, any help would be appreciated.

the htc device method should work are you sure youre typing in the command this way
fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
and are you using linux mac or windows as your computer operating system to do this
I assume u are getting stuck at step 13 with Hboot 1.50 unlocking. Htcdev method is the only method.
What is ur current Sw version. 2.08.651.3, 2.17.651.5, etc?
You need to run the matching full Sw Ruu or a more current one (exe or zip version), then the code will work. The Guide/flashing notes in my signature may help u.

[Q] Stuck at HBOOT with fastboot only

Hi,
Well, i got myself into this mess and after 3 days of trying to fix it, i give up and call for your assistance.
I had a working S-ON HBOOT 0.47 rooted Legend running CM7.2 and recently changed to Jelly_Bean_Extras_HomICS_2.0_Venus.
I liked the new rom but link2sd didn't work.
My guess was that i need to have it S-OFF.
So... i headed to HTCDEV but first i needed to be on one of the listed RUU.
My original RUU was RUU_Legend_HTC_ISR_2.05.461.52_Radio_47.39.35.09_7.08.35.21_release_140015_signed.zip
I used the LEGEIMG.zip method to flash the RUU and then i flashed the one from HTCDEV which holds "hboot_legend_7227_1.02.0000_111223.nb0" only.
Now the HBOOT got to be 1.02.0000
After flashing this, i got stuck.
No recovery - i get signature failed message - even after putting CWM update.zip on the SD.
No ADB - at all states, only fastboot sees the device.
RUU update gets fails either due to version 3.30.0000, signature or device.
fastboot flash - i thought i will manually flash the various parts. i get FAILED (remote: signature verify fail).
CID was HTC__K18
did a new goldcard based on the old mail i had (from 2010) with the goldcard file (thank you gmail).
but nothing seems to help.
I read a lot of forum posts and tried many things over these 3 days but i'm willing to start over, step by step, with anyone willing to assist.
Hopefully this step by step will assist me and will be a reference guide for others.

Have actually flashed hboot 1.02 yet?
Have followed ALL the instructions at htcdev?
Have you followed all the instructions sent to you via email about how to unlock the locked hboot 1.02, the email also includes a unlock.bin attached to the email which you need in order to unlock your boot loader?
If you had read ANY of the other question thread about this subject (there are a few) you would have found out that after you unlock your boot loader with hboot 1.02 you can no longer use update.zip cwm recovery, you can only use the S-OFF recovery method...

I was expecting feeling stupid, missing something simple.
Originally, I couldn't get to step 8 since it requires that the unit didn't respond to fastboot command and while trying to find a fix, i got stuck with only fastboot and didn't remember that this was the step i was stuck in.
Anyway, your response had me go back to htcdev just to prove my point and i found that i can continue.
Finally.
Now i am unlocked and can continue with S-OFF methods.
Thank you.

Currently the phone starts with:

LEGEND PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.02.0000
MICROP-0816

Guess what, your phone is still locked, you typed it yourself, you still need to unlock it using the bin file sent to you in the email.
Don't feel stupid mate, this rooting thing can be confusing and fearsome at times. Even I had that "can't use update.zip" issue and thought my phone was f'ed till I realised I needed to flash the recovery image.

ok.
now everything is ok.
flashed cwm.
got the rom back
and restored almost everything.
thank you
just to point out
Jelly_Bean_Extras_HomICS_2.0_Venus is not ROM
If you flashed a good ROM and your stuck in hboot, use fastboot and use the following command 'fastboot oem boot' that should force your phone to boot.

Verizon htc droid 4g lte

I have the verizon htc droid 4g lte and I am running viper 2.2 with the twap recovery, but my phone can no no longer be seen
with the unblocking tool that I use to get the bootloader unlocked with the first time. when I hook it up to my computer, I can
see both my internal and external card, and I can even read and write to them, but when it comes to the programs recognizing
my phone like they did before, they want. They will no longer recognize my phone. I can flash a few roms, but nothing that requries me to be s-off.
I tried 10.1, but the phone gets stuck when installing the appz part of the rom. So, I am guessing, it must be because I am not s-off. I want to get to s-off now,but I can't.
Any advice would be great. thanks.

Presumably, your bootloader is still unlocked? Rather than using a script or automated tool, follow the manual procedure in this thread for Part 2: Apply SuperCID. After this, reboot your phone to the bootloader and verify SuperCID with fastboot getvar cid, it should return 11111111. Once this is verified, you can follow the instructions for Facepalm S-OFF. Finally, after achieving S-OFF, revert your CID to normal again using the manual instructions for Part 6: Revert your CID to stock.
BTW, use a more meaningful title next time and this post belongs in the q&a/troubleshooting section, not general.

[Q] Trouble flashing ROM, believe is due to S-OFF

Hello. So I've tried multiple times flashing ROMs to my device, and have always had problems somewhere along the line. The furthest I got was successfully flashing this ROM, but it ended up in a boot loop. I believed it was due to my device being S-ON, even though I've successfully rooted and unlocked my bootloader via HTCdev and thus I've been attempting to get S-OFF. I tried JuopunutBear but got an error message related to checking my adb and fastboot drivers (Which I'm fairly sure are up to date and working) and I think the problem is I am on HBOOT 1.57. I've been attempting to downgrade using this guide (Which uses Revolutionary to get S-OFF in which case I wouldn't need JuopunutBear). I only got a bit of the way in, however, before I got stuck. After relocking my device it tells you to put the RUU zip on your device, but my computer isn't detecting my device and I'm stuck in the bootloader. I've tried shutting it off, trying all the options in the bootloader, taking out the battery, entering commands into adb, and probably some other things I've forgot, but I'm still stuck on the bootloader and my device isn't detected at all on my computer (Either in command prompt or in the explorer window).
Essentially what I'm asking here is:
How do I get my phone unstuck from bootloader?
Do I need S-OFF to be able to flash ROMs?
If I don't need S-OFF, what was I doing wrong? Should I try a different ROM?
And I suppose I may as well ask if that's a worthwhile ROM. I want something that optimizes my device and allows for custom themes, but otherwise I'm not too picky.
Specs:
Windows Vista (With ADB and fastboot, as well as HTC Sync and other phone drivers. Essentially I think I have all the software I'd need installed.)
HTC EVO 3D CDMA with Virgin Mobile as the carrier.
HTCdev unlocked bootloader
S-ON
HBOOT 1.57
Stock ROM
4ext recovery
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!
(Also I apologize if I didn't give all the information needed or if I posted this in the incorrect spot. I figured this would be the most appropriate spot since although I have issues with specific processes it's also a fairly general request for help.)
UPDATE: I tried re-unlocking my phone using HTCdev so I'm no longer stuck in bootloader. I'm going to be trying the HBOOT Downgrade Toolkit guide again sometime today or tomorrow to see if I can get it working. I think one of the problems before was that I didn't put the RUU on the sdcard beforehand and then my device wasn't being recognized so i couldn't put it there then. If I put it on beforehand I should be able to update successfully and get past the step I was stuck on before.
If you're son u can only flash sence ROMs.

It will be your hboot causing the problems.
Most recoveries allow you to mount usb storage so you can use that option to connect to your pc and move the ruu across without removing your sdcard etc.
