Touch won't work in touch recovery - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Some how lost touch screen capabilities in touch recovery. I am using the most up to date version of touch recovery but I can't use the touch screen in recovery. Volume buttons still work but no touch screen capabilities. I wanted to install KS 2.11 which needs to touch screen so that is also a no go. Any help?

Did you wiped your data? it may need few touch libraries from ROM....

I did wipe data but I've done this 50 times since I've had touch recovery... and never lost touch in recovery

try to download rom manager and re-install.

I reinstalled touch recovery. No go. Any more ideas?

Neutrino?
Did you ever flash Neutrino rom? I know that breaks the touch in the touch recovery...

+1 cm7 in general, for some reason. The only one that works on cm7, is the 5.0.8.2 version.

[Q] Latest CWM recovery.

Just wondered what was the latest cwm out there.
I have an orange one now 4.X.X and strangely a red 3.X.X from three finger method.
I am running CM7 JT 7/17, is access to both normal? If not, how to correct?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Access to both is normal but flashing anything with the recovery you got with the three finger salute is a no no once your on the mtd build.
I'm on the same setup and build date but strangely I have the blue recovery, not orange...I thought blue was the recovery that came with this??

Could be that I also have the glitch kernel.
Thanks for the reply, gives me peace of mind.

Flash CWM 4.x.x.x and your recovery will work fine. However, no more 3 finger recovery. It'll come up but won't work. You gotta get into recovery by power off options, pick either reboot or boot to recovery option and you should get blue CWM 4.x.x.x. it works with CM7 ........like a ninja!!
Leads me to the question, what do you do when you actually have to recover

Did you flash through flash gui or by putting the phone into recovery via command prompt?

I dont understand why if i flashed a aosp kernel through flashimage app why it didnt work. I wiped all its stuck on the miui boot logo. Wtf!!! i dont have my comp now so what do i do? im so confused cause ive done it a million times and this time it did this.
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
Why didn't you make a nandroid of miui for when you wanted to go back? As we all know ics isn't near complete yet,
Always nandroid, works out better in long run waiting.g those couple mins.

Ok so i think im screwed until i get my comp back. One question is since i.have twrp installed can i still flash through fastboot? if so then im all good. Its weird i thought maybe the kernel didnt take so i reflashed ics and it boots fine but once the main screen pulls up the screen is unresponsive. I think my only option is fastboot.

It's Pissing me off like Crazy!! I'm about to Switch back, Thanks...
I believe that if you have issues restoring a nandroid you can flash the img files via fastboot.

Which recovery

Which recovery do you prefer and why?
I use cmw but only as that's what I've always used from my desire hd years and through my one x years.
Many thanks

Hm I was using TWRP but I ran into some trouble flashing some roms and then switched to Philz's Touch CWM, and its awesome. It also have OpenScript support, so I can flash using GooManager like with TWRP. So far its been great. Only features I miss from TWRP is the slide to confirm and the "lock" feature that they implemented the last update.

Personally prefer Goomanager and the TWRP recovery script that comes with it
Goomanager
Have a look at this thread with the recovery screen clips
Everyone has their personal choice though
Using TWRP for backup and restore, Phliz for flash

CWM/CWM touch is good for beginners Easy to install using ROM manager and does its job, however in a minute you will be probably looking more functionality and flash TWRP.
CWM.......simple, does what it says on the tin, can't see any need for many extra functions

I agree! CWM! Used the 4ext recovery for some while, but went back to CWM...
Any recovery but i would recommend CWM easy to use and plain. Don't use CWM touch iit has reported a load of problems when trying to restore backups (unable to restore /data) and you might have to start from scratch.
Sv: Which recovery
CWM Touch FTW!

Bricked my phone. Need help

So I was flashing a kernel and the thing rebooted during flash. Now it doesn't go past the HTC boot screen with that development message in red. I can boot into fast boot and recovery, but cannot find a way to go past the boot screen. Even locked and then unlocked the phone, even flashed a rom the phone,.Any way to fix this?
Thnx

1)Word to the wise. You don't have a brick. Bricks are when you can't do anything to the phone
2)what previous posters said. Wipe cache and factory wipe and flash stock rom. If you don't have a nandroid or one on the phone use adb. Push to get it there

You can get into fastboot and recovery? That's kids play man.

Yes, I can get into fast boot and recovery. I tried fast boot, adb and nothing seems to work. Ruu for my carrier is not out yet.
So frustrated, haven't slept all of yesterday night
