Thx
Just put what settings you have. Thx
So me
Lg optimus 2x cm7 kang rc 100
Resolution: 100%

On 100% lags a little.
Hp touchpad cm9 nightly

And draw distance around: 60-67% smooth, more then 70% and it's slow

[Q] how to increase maximum brightness more tha factory standard?

Hello! Is there a mode to increase maximum brightness more then factory max (apk. or something for rooted phones). Once I had "neo turbo" installed: great luminosity (hurt the eyes on max)- great speedy rom (i had to change it because the pictures i took were fake coloured) so i changed it with Atomic 3.0 rom- great rom also, great camera quality, ram, space, etc; but i've returned to that standard low brightness. On "neo turbo" rom I didn't even have to max it (used only half the light to be happy). It didnt damaged my phone and the light, contrast seemed almost like an amoled. Thank you in advance!

Xperia Ultra for gaming

Since a few people have got the phone already I was wondering what their gaming experience has been like.
With the screen and processor/GPU this may be not just the best gaming phone but perhaps the best portable gaming device out there.
Which games use the Ultra's hardware to the fullest? Are there any Android games with 1080p ?
SG deadzone, Asphalt 7, need for speed, minio rush ..................... Work great, smooth without lag. Visual so reality. Only the sound from the device not good. Better use headset.
Sent from my C6802 using xda premium
Dead Trigger works like a charm too though im not sure if it is 1080p not that i think anyone can tell
With graphics setting on high, everything is fluid but the 3000mah battery only lasted me about 3hrs of gameplay on low brightness (0%)
and the screen makes gaming awesome too
TDKR (Batman) looks great every time I play.
There are ZU gaming videos on YouTube.

Whatabout emulators? Does the software home/back icons interfere with the virtual buttons that sometimes get pretty close to the edge of the screen?

I have no idea. Search YouTube for something like "Nexus 4 emulator games". Why the Nexus 4? It has on-screen buttons. Either way, if they don't disappear while gaming and it bothers you, you can choose to wait (if you decide to get the ZU) until the ZU gets root. You'll then be able to quickly toggle the buttons on and off.
Hmm, if you toggle it off, how would you be able to "quit" your apps since the back button is missing? For my current note 2, if the app freezes or something goes funky, I can hit the hardware button and force the device back to the main screen, so I'm not sure how that works for onscreen buttons since I've never owned a device with no home button.
I confirm game performance are sick. There is no lag at all.
Do you remember that part on "Iron man" when on first startup there is lag (you know that moment). Here on Xperia Z Ultra there is no lag at all....I guess adreno 330 is good gpu.

CM10.1 has a feature that's called "Expanded desktop" which hides the status and navbar. You can enable/disable this by pressing and holding the power button (like you do when you want to power off/reboot your phone), and you'll get the option there. This is available system wide, so it's always an option to enable them again no matter where you are (games etc.). That's a custom ROM though, and i'm sure there is a similar mod for the Xposed framework (100% speculation), so you don't have to flash a ROM, but being rooted will be enough.
Ah thanks for the clarification. I've always been weary of custom roms due to bugs (camera not working, GPS feature broke, can't make calls, etc) but that's for another discussion.
What are the best emulators to use?

Depends which system you're emulating. Which ones you have in mind
most games are actually 1080p already smooth even for Adreno 320, you can tell by taking a screenshots and having a look at the pixels
- Shadowgun deadzone, 1080p + AA, 60fps on Adreno 320
- Modern Combat 4, 1080p, 60fps on Adreno 320
- Temple Run 2, 1080p, 60fps on Adreno 320
- Asphalt 7, 1080p, 60fps on Adreno 320
- Need for Speed Most wanted, 1080p, 60fps on Adreno 320
- FrontLine commando, D-Day, 1080p, very smooth on Adreno 320
- Fast and Furious 6, 1080p, very smooth on Adreno 320
- Ripetide GP 2, scalable from ingame options, variable smoothness on Adreno 320
- Beach buggy blitz, scalable from ingame options, variable smoothness on Adreno 320
- Iron Man 3 runs in sub 1080p, like 720p scaled up, variable smoothness on Adreno 320
- Real Reacing 3 sub 1080p as well, variable to average smoothness on Adreno 320
on Adreno 320 all the above games run liquid smooth already with the exception of Beach buggy blitz, Ripetidge GP2, IronMan 3 and Real Racing which seems to jump between 20fps and 60fps, these are the best games to test the new powers of Adreno 330
lots of info and pixel screenshots from my posts here

Important is not to see what about already existing games. Using a Nexus 7 with custom kernel and none of those games are lagy. The 330 is yet to have show it's power as there is no game using 100% of it now a day. Need to see upcoming games and upcoming custom kernels as well. This device is really promising, only lack as for any device is the time the battery last while playing. Almost time the only solution is to play while plug to the wall, but it kill the battery.
Are there any upcoming games which are likely to put the 330 to full use?

Actually no, and I am happy about it. Would feel really bad if just after put my hands on the latest phone with latest GPU, the GPU would already be at its limits. But with time everything come.
cytus
Anybody tried playing cytus on ZU while putting it on a table? Had a lot of misses when I have to press two notes together as though my finger wasn't detected.

Real Racing 3
Just wait until we get JB 4.3. The Snapdragon 800 supports OpenGL 3.0, which is one of the new features in 4.3. Games will look even better.

Having Input - Screen Lag for a while - No solution so far

http://dropproxy.com/f/74D
Here is the video i tried to take regarding the screen lag.
Its all real time , there is no , afaik any camera lag ( taken with sg3) , its pretty much how it looks . Also i have shown the FPS . You can see when i scroll slowly , the FPS drops to 20 or so making it jerky. if i do it fast , it reaches 50+ but not stable and not very responsive to my touch feedback either.
I have tried Bexus Kernel with OC GPU , still the same . Is there anyway to force the tablet to display at bare minimum of 30FPS ? I planned to read lot of PDF, but this jerkiness is giving me headache.
Can anyone help me ?
what rom are you running? no screen lag for me on a really old cm10 build. pretty much consistent framerate, though it is kinda slow
i think part of the problem here was B&N's choice of using a PowerVR SGX 540 GPU in this tablet. this particular GPU was also used in the entire original Samsung Galaxy S line, and is at this point 5-7 years old. not a particularly great GPU in my book. granted, we're not pushing a really high screen resolution (1024x600) but still, it's a really old GPU.
CM 11 Snapshot M5 i think. Using along with Bexus kernel.
I can lower the resolution if needed , all i want is a stable framerate display , ready to sacrifice some battery too.
I agree the tablet is kind of old , but i just want to use this as some secondary reading tablet. i have no use for it now.
Try turning off "Magnification Gestures". This has caused input lag for me before.
Go to Settings>Accessibility
its off only`

Overclock Display ??

Is there any IMG file to Overclock the display to 75hz for RN9 Pro
it's simply not possible because the screen on this phone only supports 60Hz, you can't make it any higher
@akramhadji how do you know ?
can you overclock your pc monitor from 60 Hz to 120 Hz? no
same thing with phones, it's a hardware limitation, you can't improve it by flashing a file.
@akramhadji , please don't give input on things you clearly have no idea on , you create noise for those searching for information .maybe it makes u feel good to have thanks ,but try to curb it aite .

it seems that you're the one who has no idea what he's talking about :/ there's no such thing as display overclocking on phones...
You cant overclock displays, you can however fool it into thinking its running at a higher rate. But it wont change anything other than displaying a higher number in test apps.
Many displays can actually be overclocked and run fine at actual higher refresh rate depending on manufacturer and hardware. That overclocking also has its limitations. Some 60hz panels run fine at 75 or maybe 80+ hz, some causes pixel skipping if overclocked and some simply don't go past 60-65hz.. Same limitations exists on phones, their display is underclocked so hardware don't go on full load and damage anything. Similar reason why note 9 pro comes with 33w charger but actually supports 30w
@akramhadji ignorance and arrogance ,keep it up .many of your kind in this world ,I won't waste anymore time .beyond savable
well, if we look at other phones :
the realme 6 : 6.6 inch 20:9, 2400 x 1080 pixel 399 PPI, capacitive, IPS, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, glossy: yes, 90 Hz
the redmi 9 : 6.67 inch 20:9, 2400 x 1080 pixel 395 PPI, capacitive, IPS, Corning Gorilla Glass 5, FHD+, glossy: yes, 60 Hz
so they changed the display, might point out to the redmi display choice being only 60hz capable.
What happens if you increase display refresh rate, well you have increase GPU usage, and depending on the type of connection between the SOC and the LCD you can have increase compression in the bus. So its a trade, do you want that?

Bro we can overclock our monitor
Since no one bothered to come to my thread, I'll just say it here, the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G has the same display as the phone we are talking about here but it has 120hz. Oh wait, MI 10T Lite and Poco X3 also have the same display that support higher refresh rate, so it is definitely software capped. (Can't verify part numbers rn tho) and PC monitors can be overclocked anyone who says otherwise definitely doesn't know what they are talking about
