Over a month has gone but dongle not shipped - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

I'm sorry but I have dongle question. I'm sure that everyone is fed up with these but I have to ask.
So mine champagne gold has been in this "Your application is currently being processed" state since I ordered it in 17th of april? Anyone else in the same situation. Btw I live in finland.

Let's make it look more pathetic for Asus
Hey, i have ordered my GPS dongle, 16 April, the second the registration page was opened, and have even started the thread on the general section about this, and how to do this.
Still i have no Dongle, i live in The Netherlands and i have the champagne version.
Secondly, my collegue, who bought a prime also, and also the champagne version, who registred a few days after 16 April, cant say which date exactly, but im certain after, has already received it...
Its quite messy this, First in, Last out?
Thnx Asus =/

Same here. I have asked them what is going on but no response yet.

I'm from Portugal, and have yet to receive it. Registered on the 17th of april.
Yesterday i sent a technical question through asus vip site. Today received an answer saying there was a lapse in the gps requests that were sent around that time.
He said that he contacted the 'main base' and requested for my dongle to be sent to me ASAP. So... now i'll just wait and see.
I have the grey amethyst prime.
Best of luck to all of us...

still nothing

not necessarily
I just got the dongle today (In Israel), and I just checked the asus website and it still says that my order is being processed.
I applied for the dongle on 17/04.
I guess that asus haven't gone to great lengths to update the actual status of these dongles. I also just about gave up on the dongle thinking that asus just doesn't ship to my country and then all of a sudden it appears in the mail.
So that kinda sucks because you have no real indication as to what's going on with your dongle, but still it might just pop up soon.
Good luck!

Same as above. Got it, page still says the application is being processed. Your mileage may vary

Just got my dongle around 10 mins ago and it still says my order is in process. It's working fine, got 16 sats and 3 locks inside our house.

That link says available for me. I'm talking about the Champagne. The rest show backordered.
--EDIT:
I called them and they confirmed them in stock.
Be careful, read the other thread on Abes.
They screwed a lot of people over already
Call to confirm stock before ordering.
I did. I plan on making a BIG deal of the issue if it doesn't arrive by next week because I cancelled an Amazon order from the 26th for it. But the salesman told me they we in the system and NOT a website error. They also told me that the remaining backorders had been pulled from the inventory.
EDIT: I looked on the other thread, and noticed that most people hadn't been charged. My Google Checkout account has been charged as of this afternoon so I hope that's good news.

My google checkout was also processed but I saw this thread and when I called them (and also did a Web/live chat) they said they had none in stock and hopefully will be getting more next week.
I sent her the link on this site (that even when speaking to her showed available) but she showed me a link,on the site that conflicted with mine.
Either way, if I hear nothing tomorrow morning I will call them to cancel.

Wow....
They did it again?!
I will not be giving them my business ever. Just wait guys, best buy is getting them in stock every few days or so...newegg also.
Well, if they don't ship something before Wednesday, I'll block the payment on my Visa and play up the false-advertising card with them.
Plus, the salesman told me that my order was IN STOCK sitting in their warehouse. Anything less and I cancel.

Well it seems there is a disconnect within their ERP/Inventory system. After being told by 2 customer care agents that there were absolutely no tablets in stock, my card was charged and I am told now (when I gave my Abe's order number) that it will be delivered tomorrow morning.
Now, if after all this they do not send me my shipping number (this afternoon) as promised or deliver tomorrow - I WILL BE VERY PISSED (yes, this is me dramatically using all caps!)
I'll call and push the issue then. I noticed that they are still listed as in stock too. If there was an inventory system issue, dont you think that they would have fixed it?
They just told me that they recieved the shipment this morning, and my order will ship out no later than tommorrow! (Standard shipping speed)

I will get mine on Thursday.

All i can say is WOW!
I love this device and i have not had one problem.
As most people on this thread know i have been lurking about trying to make up my mind about getting this device.
I really want to tell people on the fence that the tfp is great (i have not tested GPS while driving, that is what my car or phone is for).
I just installed ICS and it is so smooth/fast and much cleaner than HC.
I will admit that the number of issues raised on this forum is indicative of serious (initial) QA/QC issues at Asus. I hope my experience means they have addressed this.

Thumbs up ASUS: Refund offered for GPS

Hello folks:
I received a replacement TF201 two weeks ago from ASUS after sending the original unit to them in mid-January for several issues. The replacement unit solved all of my initial concerns except for GPS - which is DOA unless WIFI is turned on. I decided to call ASUS today and see what they would say about the GPS issue now since more than a month has passed. ASUS has setup a new hotline in California for TF201 customers who have problems with GPS.
I spoke with Aaron a few minutes ago. He told me that the TF201 has an aGPS which means it must be connected to the internet to function properly. I clarified that my receipt indicates that the TF201 is indeed GPS and the products I looked at prior to purchase also stated GPS. At first, Aaron said there was nothing he could do to help me. I asked to speak with his supervisor and he changed his tune. He offered me a courtesy refund for the unit and any other accessories I purchased for it. A new RMA number has been issued to me and shipping is paid for. The refund will be issued when the unit arrives at the RMA facility.

Good luck everyone.

Anyone else have success getting a refund?
I got a full refund in the UK with Comet based on the GPS issue. I had a couple of dead pixels and a slight creak on the right hand side. I had it for a few weeks and then through calling Comet with the issue they offered me a full refund even though it was past the 7 days. They checked with Asus first and then allowed me to get the refund.

No way i'm giving that awesome tablet away ever again But great to see ASUS is doing this.
i'm curious what people think they could do if they had GPS instead of aGPS?
even if you had standard GPS which downloads GPS info from the satelites, its still useless with out an internet connection because everything that uses GPS needs internet to download map data.
the only thing that your GPS would be good for is a compass if you had GPS instead of aGPS.
now you could probably say that's not true and you would purchase and download an app that comes with downloadable maps that doesn't require internet connectivity but lets be honest, who uses anything besides google maps?
i'm glad you got a refund and went about it the calm and collected way (you get more bees with honey is the saying)
just boggles my mind how many people really think that they NEED GPS instead of aGPS. so many people honestly think that their device will give them map directions with out internet and only GPS connectivity (i'm not saying you think that)
it really sounds like a lot more people have buyers remorse and found a great loophole to get their money back or people that have to have the latest device and want an easy fast way out so they can get the next latest and greatest.
Asus SHOULD be giving money back if people demand it thats the proper thing to do since technically their box and documentation states GPS not aGPS.. i just wish more people wouldnt cry about GPS like that really made their experience that much worse than aGPS.
(hmm lets count how many times i said gps and agps lol)

Same Here. But ...
ASUS Corporate in California received my Prime on 2/24. Mine was shipped to ASUS Fedx overnight, paid by ASUS. I have a delivery receipt for it.
Called ASUS yesterday to find out where the refund check was because I was told that a check would be sent to me 3 days after ASUS received my Prime.
Well would you believe that the internal ASUS mail department never sent the package on to the person that the package was addressed to! The Prime spent three weeks in ASUS receiving. My contact at ASUS had to call the ASUS receiving department to find the package and have it sent to her. Yes this sounds like the other post about a "circus".
So hopefully on Monday, March 19th a check should be sent to me by overnight delivery.
I just hope that the ASUS shipping department isn't the same group as the ASUS receiving department.

For the record, I haven't sent my Prime for refund... yet. I still may RMA once more to see if I can get GPS that locks on anything.

Did you have to wait a long time to speak to Trinity? I've been waiting a week to talk to her.
Sent mine for RMA on 2/14 and my tablet sat there for 16 business, 23 calendar days (holiday included) with no movement from the waiting status. It was sent in for WiFi, GPS and the HDMI port mainly. The repair center is a joke and I could go on and on about the countless phone calls and the broken promises of someone will call you back or email you or your status should change in 24-48 hours. Yeah right, never happened once. It took them a week just to show it on their repair status inquiry site.
I PMed Gary and he put a Customer Care manager on it and while that was beginning the repair center agreed to send my prime back to me (took an additional 7 days just to do that) as I said I would rather have it back then to wait until whenever they get parts or replacement units. I am very happy to have it back. It's the same as when I sent it in but I have control of the situation once again. When they sort out what the heck their doing to repair these things I'll deal with it then.
All I can say now is how nice it was to receive the call from Trinity saying she is personally handling my case and whatever decision I make for repair, replacement or full refund for tablet, dock and any accessories she will make it happen. Gary certainly put the right people on it for me and has turned around a very difficult, (saying it nicely) situation with the service center to one of recommending again (can't believe I'm saying that) based solely on my opinion that 50% of the service center people seem to care and 100% of the 501 area code people I've spoken with are just awesome. I think 501 area code is Arkansas but anyways, can't say it any better for them. I'll be making my decision Monday but seeing how they will send the tablet to me first, with a credit card for security, and they'll open it up and check it out before sending, it should be an easy decision for the replacement unit. Just have to get over the GPS.

3 Days since UPS dropped off prime for RMA... Still not acknowledge by ASUS

UPS delivered my Prime to the repair center in Grapevine, Texas three days ago. I checked the status again today and it still says
"You have reqeusted RMA no. for the machines below; however, they have not been received by us."
Has anyone else had this problem?
I am going to call them tonight if the status doesn't change.
Yes thats the norm. From what i have read in other topics, this always seems to happen. Pretty ****ty of asus if you ask me.
^^^^^
Expect something like another 2 days before they tell you that it's just going to sit there for three weeks.
They're supposedly waiting on "fix procedures" for WiFi/BT fallout and all that nonsense.
Same here. It's been 2 days for me.
Just wait a few more days.....it took them 7 business days before they keyed in my RMA.
My Asus turn around time was about a week for the OG transformer in Canada.
If you wanna talk about bad, I had a 1G ipod nano that got recalled, called it in Nov16, Box didn't show up until Dec 22, didnt get checked in Until Jan 16, and since then its been "waiting for product replacement" It is now almost March.
I dropped off mine myself as I live a couple cities over from the facility. Dropped it off last Thursday and have a new one I'm typing on now. So here's my timeline:
Thursday noon: dropped off
Friday: no change
Saturday: no change
Sunday: no change
Monday: around 5, RMA status finally showed received WB5 waiting
Tuesday: no change
Wednesday: no change
Thursday: around 5 showed new s/n shipped w tracking # (actually shipped 1 day prior)
Friday: in my hands, no communications via email
actually I emailed Asus and asked if I can drop it off myself, no response. So I just went by and they took it, gave me a form to write what was wrong with it and proof that they actually took it (the guy's signature).

RMA - wait then new silver top tablet
I sent mine in registered mail and I called them when I knew they had it. My theory is that they have a turn around time limit so they don't acknowledge the receipt so their repair time still looks good.
After I complained the next day it was getting repaired. The next day it was waiting for parts. Ironically the keyboard dock arrived 8 weeks after the tablet and now the tablet is waiting for parts.
Two days later Fed-Ex was shipping a unit from California. Got a new one with a silver top. It doesn't match the blue keyboard but still looks good (I'm not waiting 8 more weeks).
I don't know if it is the new top but the GPS is definitely improved as the GPS will bring in ~ 5 satellites in my study when I never - ever saw a hint of a satellite on my older tablet indoors.
Anyone thinking of sending in an RMA - make sure it is registered and traceable.

Some people see the CG as "silver" and the AG as "blue" or "purple." So, I'm sure he's saying he received a CG unit to replace his AG unit (although why ASUS would do that is beyond me).

So about 2 days after my Tablet was in the repair state it moved to WB5- Waiting. It has been there ever since (approximately 3 weeks now). I talked with Asus and they offered me a full refund on my device.
Guess I'll play the waiting game to see if I can get the Prime available elsewhere and then cash in with Asus when I order it. Though, they'll probably get stock before anyone else does, so maybe I'll just end up with a new one through them.

HOW TO Track your GPS dongle w/ FedEx Reference

Just wanted to post this for anyone interested in whats going on with their Dongle or need to place a hold on it before it gets to them. On the VIP site your status has to have changed to "Shipped". Don't blame me if you check while "submitted" and get nothing although some have reported success! This is also only for North American shipments.. overseas do not ship FedEx
Go to Fedex.com and Track by Reference Number.(Here) Copy this:
TF201DONGLE - "INSERT MY SERIAL NUMBER" - GRAY
Replace the quotes and insert number with your Serial # and make sure no spaces are between the dashes. It should pull your package up and also provide you with the actual tracking number. You may need to adjust the country where its going if you are international as well as date shipped if it might have gone out over 15 days ago.
Champagne users should also be able to track if you change GRAY to GOLD.(thanks monkeydog) Hope this helps those who are still waiting- thanks to mikeypopps who originally posted this

Others in the Got my Dongle and Product Updates thread are reporting success, so either you're doing it wrong, or the label hasn't been printed yet. Make sure your serial is correct and your tracking by Reference #, Not tracking #
Thanks NEO .. worked for me.. April 27th expected delivery..

Just wanted to post this for anyone interested in whats going on with their Dongle or need to place a hold on it before it gets to them. On the VIP site your status has to have changed to "Shipped" :
Go to Fedex.com and Track by Reference Number.(Here) Copy this:
TF201DONGLE - "INSERT MY SERIAL NUMBER" - GRAY
Replace the quotes and insert number with your Serial # and make sure no spaces are between the dashes. It should pull your package up and also provide you with the actual tracking number.
Champagne users should also be able to track if you change GRAY to CHAMPAGNE, however as of now nobody is reporting those have actually shipped yet. Hope this helps those who are still waiting- thanks to mikeypopps who originally posted this

Thanks! Works! I already received one of the two GPS dongles I applied for. Did exactly as instructed and I was able to see the shipping information of the one I already received. Now I'm just waiting for my Champagne color dongle to be shipped. I am moving by the end of the month so the address I submitted will no longer be current. I'll use this method again when it finally ships to re-route it.
Thanks, worked for me estimated date 27th
If yours is Champagne replace the "GRAY" with "GOLD". Worked for me.

Same here. I am thinking of starting a thread for us in this situation late next week if nothing happens since no one at Asus has any idea whats going on all they do is read scripts say they'll call you back and nothing. FedEx told me I have to contact the shipper which is them. Technical email same thing 4 days to get a script saying call the # - run-around!!
Thanks
Anticipated ship date April 18th
Anticipated delivery date April 25th
Last time I checked that is today but the only thing in the "time line" graph is initiated so mine is sitting somewhere other than with me or in a FedEx facility/truck.
Oh well, what do you expect when you're getting something for FREE!

Not to get technical but we paid $500 for the GPS to work in our actual unit. At least its in the specifications on my C1. I dont use it all the time myself and don't really care about performance but when GPS test sits at 0 thats plain defective imo. I just want the fix thats been offered instead of reading everyone getting theirs yet ours supposedly shipped the 18th and theyre sitting somewhere and noone seems to know a thing. We aren't the only ones so hopefully by the end of the week or next week they start moving otherwise I think its going to be a pain in the you know what trying to get any information about whats going on internally there at Asus.
I registered months before this was even announced on the VIP site and I still have yet to even recieve an email talking about this offer at all. Talk about how VIP Asus treats us man!
Thanks OP. This worked for me. Unfortunately all FedEx has is the shipping information was sent. I had the shipping confirmation from Asus on the 18th. They can't be out of these things can they?
Possibly or they are waiting to send another batch out at the same time. On another board a guy posted his tracking info and the first label time was exactly the same 11:18AM and his shipped fine got it today, was supposed to recieve mine today its been sitting on "Initiated".. just don't know hopefully they update I signed up for email notification when it starts moving because I need mine held for pickup
Worked for me. Cool. Unfortunately it just says "Shipment information sent to FedEx" as of Apr 18.
guess i must remain patient.
welcome to the club.. post back when it starts moving..
I have... quite a few coming, aprox 40 (institution, cheaper than ipads and android ftw) roughly 30 say they are shipping on the vip site, so far none of the ones i checked say they are in the fedex system yet.... oddly there are roughly 10 that are still recieved (not shipped), does this mean they ran out and are waiting on a new batch? who knows.... asus seems to be boggling this quite badly, but as others have said im getting it for free, why complain?
Just to clarify, there is no space between the -s and there are no " marks correct?
*edit* OH! one just popped up, shows it was picked up this afternoon should be in my hands friday, just in time for the weekend to test it out! woot!

They are coming from California ... you and I are on the East Coast. Its going to take about a week or more to get here. Slowest possible shipping method through Fedex. Mine shipped the 23rd. Wont get here till the 30th.

Thats the difference between yours and ours at least you have a delivery date! His sounds like mine if you look at the pic in the OP there has been no change after the label has been received for a week now and is waiting for pickup. Which means the package is still at Asus. Mine was originally scheduled for 4/25 and now theres no date.. all FedEx tells us is contact the shipper.. and Asus knows nothing.. all we can do is wait and keep checking!

GPS Dongle estimated delivery: 2 weeks from registration?

I contacted ASUS support about the GPS dongle to see if they'd be able to shed some light on delivery estimates, and this is what I got:
Hi there,
9 days ago, I applied for the "TF201 GPS Extension Kit" for the Asus Eee Pad
Transformer Prime TF201. I have seen reports that some customers have already
received their kits, but my application status has been on 'processing' for quite some
time. Could you let me know if there is some delay or provide me with an estimated
ship date?
I purchased the TF201 in the United States in December but I am now in the UK,
hence the UK shipping address. I hope this will not be a problem.
Many thanks,
Thomas Handley

So, according to their techs, expect your GPS dongle to be on its way from about 2 weeks after you applied for it (unless you've got it already of course).
Anyone else have similar reports/info from ASUS employees?
I got mine yesterday 4/25 and I registered 4/16.
I suspect they're doing this in waves. I presume that they had a limited number of first-batch units which got sent out to a few lucky people like yourself, and I'm guessing the estimate given to me is regarding the bulk of the orders.
I just wrote to them today...How long did they take to reply to your query...
waiting for an answer and most impatiently for my Extension Kit...it seems so cool
My status has said 'shipped' since last Wednesday. Finally, I called FedEx yesterday to inquire about the shipment and they said there is no shipment going to my address period under any of there services. Great! So, I called Asus Customer Service and they tell me the same thing. I then tell them that the status already says shipped and CS says you will have to wait 2 to 3 weeks from your application date and if is still hasn't arrived then they will send me another. I tell CSR that I have talked with FedEx and there is no shipment and CSR says they have to go by what the system says. So, I say....So, what your telling me is I have to wait 2 to 3 weeks to get a GPS Dongle you say you have shipped but the carrier doesn't show it and then I have to call you back again in 2 to 3 weeks and tell you again what we both know right now. This is crap!

You are not alone, there are several of us in the same boat. It's too bad that they are so disorganized. Probably not much we can do except wait.

It took them less than 24 hours to reply, which is pretty decent. I am slightly concerned though that their answer was very generic and isn't particularly solid.
Its true. Asus Malaysia replied one of the guy who asked,
"The dongle will be delivered within 2 weeks time from the date you have registered through vip.asus.com. If by then you have yet to receive, contact ASUS Hotline at 03-6279 5077. Thank you."
Yeah, that's pretty standard, two weeks or ten business days. That's the deadline I had already placed for myself to inquire about it if it still hasn't changed statuses or arrived.
Anyway, if you all haven't seen it, you can track your dongle by reference number.
TF201DONGLE-"INSERT MY SERIAL NUMBER"-GRAY <--Remove quotations.

On the phone with them right now, told them I had submitted order on the 17th and was still in the "submitted" phase, the rep asked me what color I had and then said that the Champagne colored dongles ship 3 weeks from order date.
i called them this morning and got the same answer, they said it could take up to 2 weeks from the date registered and at present they have a lot of applications to process so could take 3 weeks. he said i should get mine early next week.
its a waiting game and they its dispatched via DPD.
i registered in the 16 april and for me it still says "processing"..

You're just jealous
Jokes aside, yes, there are several threads on "Yay I got my dongle and it took X days to arrive" and dedicated threads about application status and the like, however I haven't yet seen any threads regarding actual information given by ASUS about projected shipping times, so I figured it would be a good idea to post some slightly more 'official' information from their own words alongside our own speculation.

Hey man.. I don't want a flame war so yeah whatever .. I'm super jealous. (Not sure how or what I'd be jealous over, that just doesn't make any sense.) I was just commenting on how many f**** GPS dongle threads there are and I'm not gonna get into it over the differences in the threads..
My bad.. didn't realize you guys were so hard up on waiting for your dongle to arrive.
*edit* didn't see your edit.. I mean hey dude whatever, if Asus says 2 weeks than give them 3 and start asking questions, but that's just me. Maybe I have a little more patience than some
