Hi, thanks for the advice I have had the procedure via odin stock, but the result is the same as the phone does not start with the Stock ROM is continually reset
After u flash the stock rom from odin, boot into recovery and wipe data from there. If its still doesnt wirk then theres a possibility that your phone got hardware failure, but i hope thats not the case here. And good luck with it

try flashing a different kernel. that's worth a shot. maybe from here on forward, you try Overclocking your ace one step at a time. or better yet, stick to 806 or 825.

I am not sure about the hardware memory write. I used this kernel as well, when I had errors I restored the back up boot file. then its back to normal. you were able to create a backup with CWM right?

Well based on the titel we konw that his IMEI was lost. From all these cases that ive seen on SGA's forum no one has retreived their IMEI back. Did a google search and checked 3 links, none of them was able to get their IMEI back as well.
Has anyone got a backup of their EFS folder and Files? (Disclaimer: I DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO ATTEMPT THIS FOR ME!) If anyone currently has one, I do not want someone to risk backing theirs up for me, But If anyone does, Please share it with us in a .zip I was thinking there may be a way to open the files, and replace the IMEI and stuff? Not sure It theoretically should work, but then again it's Samsung and it's all complicated, so I'm not guaranteeing anything.

Tried everything imaginable, flashing stock, multi-csc, adb, cannot get past the "black screen boot loop" (phone starts booting, the black screen iluminates and keeps going in that loop forever)
I can go to all kinds of recovery modes but whatever firmware I flash I get the same result, and that's certainly because my efs IS corrupted (last thing I saw on the phone was corrupted filenames there)

hello,
did you try to flash a stock rom, because i had the same problem and after flashing a stock rom, the problem was fixed.
regards
On Friday I downloaded and installed the leaked XXKP8 through Odin (with pit file) to try it out. Then, I installed UltraToxic ROM through (again through Odin) to get back to Gingerbread. Ever since then, every time I install CyanogenMod 7, I get a screen reading "Kernel Painc Upload Mode" and I have to flash an Odin rom as I can't even access recovery.
I have tried reinstalling the old bootloader and modem, wiped everything and started from stock KI4, tried various different ROMs and kernels to start from, but I have had zero luck. My phone refuses to boot CyanogenMod 7.
I would be extremely grateful if anyone could solve my problem.
Thanks in advance

I'm having the exact same issues! JJE's response is from my thread and it doesn't help! I am going to try this kernel cleaning script. Hope it works. I can only flash using Odin, any attempts to do anything with CWM fails. Same scenario as OP.
Running stock KI3 kernel with CF-root installed using odin. ran the cleaning script in recovery... tried to flash CM7 zip twice... still same thing, keep getting stuck rebooting. I just took my sdcard out. Going to try the process all over again.
edit: I give up.... CWM5+ seems to work fine... anythiing to do with CWM 4 just fails
I'm running the latest CM9 release the MrPhilio one. I got droidexplorer installed for transfering files to my phone. Guess I'll stick with this for now until an official release of cm9.

I'm not sure which thread is which right now , but did you try flashing XWKK5 firmware from intratech's thread( Frankenstein build, it works perfect, I'm using it ) then rooting it , the CF-root method for XWKK5 comes with CWM 5.0... You should try that , then after that try to flash CM7, should work. Just don't forget to wipe data/cache/dalvik cache/battery stats before flashing ( i do it every time just to be sure)... Please let me know if that worked for you, I'm eager to solve your problem XD
Edit : same goes to the OP , flashing CM7 directly from CM9 or stock KP* does'nt seem to work because of the old CWM version... i guess...
Did you manage to fix it? I have the same problem
i'm also experiencing the same problem. anyone have a solution?
This worked for me
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21136550&postcount=28
removed sd card, flashed KG3 with odin (had to do it twice for some reason), the flashed cfroot for kg3 and rebooted into recovery, wipe data/format/cache and flashed cm7 twice then flashed gapps.
I happened to have have a backup up my CM7 so after flasing cm7, i did an advance recovery and restored just system/data/cache (not boot!).
I then proceeded to install the XXKL1 modem with Odin (modem only).
worked great, got a 'standard' bootloader now, new modem and its all good.

Yep, this is how I fixed my problem. I didn't bother updating the thread because it was on the third page at the time. I don't generally check the SGS2 Q&A sections.
Hey ho,
i already asked it in the "no question is noobish thread" but still got no real answer, so i decided to make a own thread.
Around 1 month ago i flashed stock firmware (XXLK1) and suddenly i got no "boot logo" (the Samsung S5830i logo @booting), instead i got a text written in blue which contains "logo_ltn_c.jpg draw failed".
Alright, last night i searched google and found this:
http://www.taringa.net/comunidades/galaxyace/6898548/Ayuda-logo-LTN-c-jpg-draw-failed.html (It's a spanish site and at the end there's a link it'll get you here: http://www.taringa.net/posts/celulares/14494518/Galaxy-Ace-GT-S5830i-GT-S5830M-GT-S5830C.html)
So, as you can see, it contains the following:
BOOT_S5830CVJKL4 en BootLoader
PDA_S5830CVJKL4 en PDA
PHONE_S5830CVJKL4 en PHONE
But no CSC file, so, i flashed this firmware and i got the bootlogo, but it's "Samsung S5830c (instead if s5830i), i mean.. i dont really care, but why i dont get a bootlogo when i flash the XXLK1 firmware? Because of the bootloader file?
I tried different odin versions:
- v 1.84
- v 1.85
- v 3.07
Still no logo, only with the firmware for the "C".
Any ideas?
Thanks
have you got s5830c? i think it might be some kind of protection from booting roms other than s5830c ones.
at least thats my theory.

Nope got a i not a c .. but doesnt matter, both firmware are flashable... its just weird, the c firmware got bootloade and the i not, with the bootloader i get bootlogo (from C firmware), but with the i not

then maybe you will have to flash a pit file from here. make sure you use the PIT section in odin. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1389873
DON'T FLASH YET THOUGH. wait till somebody confirms it. I don't have a Player 4.0 so i may be wrong. somebody please say if i'm wrong

Hi, I downloaded pit file several times and several files of pit i find for my Galaxy Player but with no luck, and the second link dosent work for me bicause it is for the Galaxy Player USA version....(mines the intl version GP-G1)
i tried to flash terrasilent recovery that i find here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1643384
i flashed 1.3v and 1.3.5v and i have no luck. The Player enters in bootloop and i cant do nothing.
i found this other WhiteBeam Kernel that has CWM recovery and i can enter to cwm recovery and wipe data, cache partition and dalvik but never boot into andorid. this is the link where i found this kernel.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1807997
I downloaded iChaOS-TestBuild2iostheme rom and tried to flash it via cwm, it says succes but when i restar it will never boot.
i also wiped everything before rebooting.
I redownloaded Stock Rom from (this is the zaclimon post) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531850 and flash via odin and pit file. Then make wipes. then it shows all the error message u can see the image in my first post of this thread. It BOOTS into android but with all the information like if i never did something to the player. (all games, photos, apps and folders) but all apps and system apps when the system starts shows message "force close" to all apps and all system apps. (u cann see image in first page of this thread) i dont know what is happening to this player. its like it doesn't want to wipe nothing.
Its like freeze with all things since the day the player damaged.
Someone with some other ideas? am frustrated i dont understand.

I flashed that kernel... enters in bootloop such as terrasilent's.... thanks for helping
Hi everyone,
my first post on XDA, so let's pray i'm doing this the right way.
I have a bit of a situation on my hands. I bought a GS3, which was defective. The power button became to sensitive. So the tip was: Unscrew your device en take out the power button. So i did. No big deal i thought because i have root access, i have a touch recovery and an app for turning off the screen and rebooting and stuff.
Recently i bought the smartdock. So i could use a keyboard, mouse and a screen with my GS3. But because i was running CM11 it didnt support the HDMI out to the screen. Then i thought: big deal, ill flash the stock ROM with ODIN.
That's where things went south. The phone got stuck in a bootloop. There is no getting to recovery because i dismissed my power button. I do have a jig for download mode. But every stock ROM i flash ends up in a bootloop. I tried ADB but my phone doesnt give premission.
Is there something i can do? Somehow get to recovery? Somehow wipe my cache and dalvik? Flash something different than stock with ODIN? Can i replace the motherboard to solve the problem?
Thanks guys!
@TryItOut1: name is program? So, I have something for you:
- Flash a 3part PIT with Odin. It contains the missing reset. Your phone should boot afterwards.
- Root it with CF-Autoroot, with Odin.
- Flash TWRP-recovery with Odin. It needs no hardware buttons.
I hope you succeed.
Thanks for the great advice!

Can i ask you to elaborate? I never worked with pit files. I know TWRP recovery and I know the autoroot. But i don't know what a 3part pit is. I know odin has a "pit" slot. But what do i feed to it?
Name is program? Did i use a programmers name? That was not my intention.

I'm sorry but i don't seem to understand.
Here's what i don't get. When i use the english explanation and i open 4.3 there are 5 downloadlinks.
In the how to flash picture there are only 3 files that are being flashed. The PDA, the phone and the CSC.
In the German explanation there are 4 files being flashed. This time including the PIT. And the PIT isnt even named in the 5 downloads.
My question is. What do i download and what do i use? And do you have to check the repartition box? Because sometimes it's checked and sometimes it isn't
@TryItOut1:
1. The xda-rescue: Afaik you've to take the pit-file from a 4.1-archive. It contains the partition-data.
2. The bitstopfen-link contains downloads and manual. You've to follow it.
Yes, repartition must be checked.
But: if you get bootable firmware by this, how do you start then into download-mode for the following steps?
Still not there

I must be some sort of idiot. When i look under the 4.1 theres nothing there.
When i look in the German description i can't find the right things either. Just standard firmware and modem. And my german is not that good so i don't really understand it.
Do i just need a pit-file and the standard dutch firmware? Then where can i find the right pit file?
I use a usb jig for downloadmode.
I'm sorry but im completly lost here.
The Gernan version is easy. I sent you a PM in pretty Dutch…
Done.

Let's hope that it succeeds at the end and you have a working S3.
