Hi everyone,
Im not sure where else to go for some help, as the best development community Ive found I think this is probably the best place.
I am currently trying to develop an application on the HTC EVO 3D for a Hospital to help them test the Stereoscopic vision on children. (so any help you can provide is for a good cause!)
The issue I am having is that there is such a small amount of documentation on the 3D code needed. There are some sample apps that come with the OpenSense SDK but I am having trouble tying to get what I need out of them. I can alter them to maybe display a different image or something, but the actual code needed to split the images and send them to each eye is proving hard to find and pull out of the code so I can use it.
Basically Im looking for any help from anyone who has used this code before and could point me in the right direction as to which parts of the code I need to extract or look at in the OpenSense samples. Becuase at the moment I am really struggling.
Thanks in advance to anyone who helps.
note: This is a re-post from the General forum as I was advised to post it here for better results, if a mod wants to delete the first post, please do. Cheers.
Bump for a good cause

Sorry, I didn't view your first post.
I found a opengl 3D graphic library (min3d : http://code.google.com/p/min3d/), and I made some changes to allow it to do 3D stereo :

What do you want to do in your application ? displaying 3D pictures or 3D geomertry with openGL ?

Well, this thread is in here for All the members of the development wing for the hTC SURROUND.
Any queries, suggestions, requests, grievances and appreciations can be posted over here.
This is the ONLY thread where i wont impose any type of Moderation unless and otherwise in specific cases of Flamming,Religious discussions,Abuses ETC...

Good O.S but need more from microsoft.
Today I have my HTC Surround. The new windows mobile have good interface. But need more development from Microsoft. I think in the feature will see better integration. The settings menu need more options (jaja). I think I was use to use Windows Mobile 6.5. Anybody know how to block a phone call? Example. a number or contact?. I think the O.S. don't have the utility. I search for hours in the market place but not found anything.
Off to a decent start...Well,we need new developers here...Cheerz guyz.....
We need to put Android on this, just like the HD2, it has the capabilities.

Does anyone know anything if the InternetSharing (teathering) is going to be made avalible in an update? Or, is anyone going to hack a way to do it? I waited a year-plus for this being a strong user of WM and it's like MS took a step backwards with this new OS. I'd appreciate any info anyone has to share. Thanks.
I had to buy A Samsung Focus after purchasing the Surround to get the tethering to work.
Hello everyone, in trying to find a thread I saw about 2 weeks ago about changing your build.prop to have gameloft games be playable that normaly aren't on the E3D. I don't remember exactly where I had seen it but I've looked for it. Maybe someone remembers the thread and can post me a link for it. Thank u in advance. I know there is one in the games section of Android but its for arm6.

Thanks ekz13 but that's not the one I'm looking for. The one I remember had changes to the script that where way longer. I remember something about changing the device to LG Optimus.
I thought that was the one to change it to the optimus one. I don't remember seeing another though.. gl finding it, post up a link when you do please

I'll keep looking but I also hope someone finds it too or stumbles upon it, cuz I really wanna play Sacred Odyssey If anyone has gotten it to work on the E3D, how did u do it? Thank you peeps

From a android market developer's point of view there are really only two ways the market allows the developer to explicitly filter out devices for their application:
1) by specific build model of the device
2) by screen resolution support
the /system/build.prop supplys the information the Market uses. if you have a konwn good device that supports these games, such as the LG Optimus, you would only need a copy of the LG Optimus build.prop file in order to mimic.
if it was me personally, i would suggest changing the fingerprint to make the lg optimus first, wipe market cache, reboot and see if it appears in the market. if it doesn't, then i'd look into screen settings, but i think most filter by device as that is the easier of the two to manually control/adjust in the developer market console.
as a side plug, my app, build prop editor, makes it very simple to edit the file from android mode, along with maintaining backups/restoring and switching between them!
hope that helps take a bit of the mystery away!
since the flyer and view are so similair what would i have to do to port a rom from the flyer to the view? and can i be pointed in the right direction?
To get started you would have to swap out the kernel and boot images with View compatible versions, change the build.prop file to fixup any Flyer specific items, etc.
Depending on how close all the hardware is , it can be pretty complex.
You can take a look at this to get an idea.

Oops, I'm sorry I read that as Jetstream to View. there are threads discussing what you are looking for in the forum already
Hi,
I am a NOOB at android - the Jetstream being my 1st android device. Have come across some queries and was hoping that more experienced users and developers would be able to clear things out and may be even help us move further with our device - while HTC seems to have abandoned us more or less. To my understanding, getting S-OFF would enable us to write or mount any rom from any carrier onto our devices without the issue of having problems with compatibility, etc. Achieving root was the 1st step towards that. It would enable us to literally port another devices rom onto our device. Am I right?
It seems that Unknownforce and some others (sorry for not having mentioned them all as the list seemed quite exhaustive) have managed to downgrade their HBOOT to 1.50 on their HTC EVO 3D, and from there managed to achieve S-OFF which earlier seemed un-achievable with the newer version of HBOOT that HTC has been rolling out with their devices. Link is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1547695
So, want to ask/request anyone if they would know if this procedure could be applied for the Jetstream as well and enable us to get S-OFF? Could anyone please help figure this out or help point us in the right direction?
Thanks to all who help out.
I am convinced that the development for Jetstream has reached its end, if it really got going. There are two or three ROMs. There just wasn't a community for the jetstream to gain enough interest and momentum for ROMs and Mods. The attention that it did get here was due to the ~$1,000.00 bounty that was on it for Rooting. All all attention will be on the ONE series in a few weeks.
I use my Jetstream daily. Wish it had a better presence in the android world as its such a beautiful device. But, I would love to see more development, just not on the edge of my seat expecting it.
If we could get some people with the device to volunteer and work with it for some development, it would be really good. I for 1 am willing to help any way I can with whatever limited knowledge I have. As Task650 has the device, we.could perhaps ask him for help/help him out. May be if we could get this method of s off to work, things could change. Now that the device costs lesser also, it may be hope for change for the better.

We all hoping for it. If some dev could look into the method used to get the EVO 3D S-OFF and see if it is sound or would be able to work or something, may be we could move it further. I for one am a NOOB with no knowledge whatsoever about coding, programming and the sort. So can not make head or tail of the logic behind it. Link again is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1547695
So I PMed Unknownforce who is the creater for the thread I shared on the 1st post. His process for obtaining s-off as he said could work for an emmc device. I am unsure if the Jetstream is such a device but I think it probably is. Next, the hboot basically determines how the device accesses its partitions and is unique for each device. Hence, we can not flash the hboot of flyer or another device onto the Jetstream and try patching from there. He said it may work if the chip used is the same, but he wasn't too sure either. So, it means that we will have to figure out another way to obtain S-OFF. Anyways, we can hope that it will happen. And thanks to Unknownforce for taking time to answer some questions and trying to help out.

Can someone please give me a good quality photo of the sim/sdcard area of a Jetstream with the cover removed, thanks.

Here are the pictures. Hope this is what you wanted. Have blacked out the IMEI number and stuff which is seen.
Edit: Couldn't upload better resolution pictures due to size constraints. have sized them down. if you need better resolution pictures, will email them to you if needed.

Hi, you asked for the pictures. I have posted them but don't know if this is what you meant or you needed something.else. also, don't know what you needed them for. If you could please share what your plans are it would be much appreciated. Thanks for the reply in advance.

Does anyone know how to contact globatron? He asked for these pictures for a reason I think. However have not heard from him or anything else whatsoever. We can't pm him so any alternate modes of contacting him to know what his plans were/are and if any development on that till now?
He has been able to figure out new method to obtain S-OFF for devices. So perhaps it would work for Jetstream too?

I read about the "Juopunutbear S-OFF" at http://www.xda-developers.com/andro...ht-juopunutbear-s-off-most-htc-2011s-line-up/ and it seems that what globatron would be looking for is probably the pictures of the board without the overlying plastic. The procedure involves a wire trick. So for that, I think he would require a pciture with the back removed, the screws undone. Unfortunately due to exams I am unable to devote much time for the next few weeks. Could anyone please check it out and post the pictures he actually requested for?
Thanks in advance and hope that he would be able to do something with them and get us S-OFF.

Hi, there is 1 Lucky person with an S-OFF Jetstream - BIGMOH. Is it possible to know what the difference is between his and our devices and thereby work backwards to gain S-OFF for us too? I did PM him and he has agreed to help us out the best he can. Neither do I nor does he have much of a knowledge about all this. Could some developer please help us out? DoomLord? Task650? Globatron?

If this is better posted somewhere else I do apologise, I dont have enough posts under my belt to post in the development thread where I would imagine it is better placed.
Development is the last place to post this. Development is for roms and kernels. Maybe try the theme/app section. You might find the help you need there.
