It sounds like a thermal damage. Let the phone checkup in service center.
it was just like the screen coloration issue on the Xperia S. thermal issue
have the board replaced or, if your warranty permits, why not have the phone replaced with a new one

Hi guys,
I seem to have a problem with my X10i, it randomly turns off by it self, below are the times in which ive noticed this:
Phone is charging and i am texting at the same time or talking for like 5 mins and then turns off
phone charging and it gets too hot and it turns off
phone turns off when hot generally,
i play a racing game for 20 mins and it turns off.
When it turns off it tries to reboot, it boot it s then turns off again, i have to take the battery appart, wait for 10 mins plug it back in and turn it on.
This gets annoying as it shouldn't really do this and its not as if i put my phone on top of the radiator in order for it to get hot.
Please help
Ps. it did this on android 1.6 and 2.1 so that didnt fix it.
Regards
Well, this is definitely a hardware problem... you should return it to warranty or try and get it robbed to activate insurance if you have one... lol

Hey,
Thanks for the reply, i have also noticed that when the phone turns off it make a small clicking noise.
Thanks for the suggestions but im in greece and i have no insurance cover and the phone was given as a gift so i don't know what is up with the warranty.
Totally a Hardware problem... Just take it to the nearest SE Repair. It'll cost you though.. :\ They Charge really high if u dnt have wwarranty.
Any ideas on which hardware could be causing this? do you reckon it could be just the battery getting too hot? or something else?
You will still have warranty even if it's gifted (through imei )

Oh nice i hope that is the case, i 'm not sure if its been a year though, how long does the warranty cover?
One year. Warranty is for one year and two years on special contract basis if i'm not wrong.
If your phone keeps restarting, (Heating) another issue could be wrong (or high) OC settings (like setcpu to high values) or something. Which fw are you running atm?
Try reflashing to Stock and see if the same thing happens?
I had the similar issue , I flashed it to Wolfs 2.2 switched off the mobile, Removed battery and let it cool down. After sometime it fixed the issue by itself

Hey,
Thanks for your reply, i do not know what oc speed i have or how to overclock, as for my version i have the stock 2.1 android rom and build 2.1.A.0.435
I DON'T KNOW HOW TO FLASH, i have seen tutorials but everytime i set my phone to usb debugging mode it over heats and turns off
Have nearly same problems. Looks like you have fuel gauge ic problems, max17040, to be exact. Or Qualcomm PM7540 power distribution ic, which is much worthier. Does your battery level changes sometimes after that glitches, and returns to normal after battery re-installation?

yes that does happened sometimes, the battery is on red and the phone crashes, but then when i take the battery out and plug it back in after 10 mins i get a white bar in the battery so in theory it has more battery than when it crashed.
Hi everyone, I just bought the G S2 3 days ago, and I found 2 issues:
1- No indication that the phone is charging at all and I have to keep checking did it finish charging or not by turning the screen on. In addition I installed a battery indicator to show me the exact percentage while charging.
2- When I use the hands free there is no indication at all in the task bar showing that it is connected or not.
Did any body has these 2 issues and how to solve them. I came from HTC HD Desire which was a great phone
Well, the first is not an issue, because when it fully charges, you will hear a sound. As for the 2nd part, it's annoying. I thought my earphones had been destroyed(1st day). xDD

Regarding the sound when it is fully charged, it means I have to stay close to the phone and in the same place to hear it !!!!!!!. This is really crazy, they have to fix this issue or if any one has an app to help in this.

Which earphone are you using ? Please attach a screenshot of its port, its an earphone issue only.
The stock earphone which was included with the phone case ...
If they are younger than six months then get them replaced

this problem occurs with any inserted earphone , i think it's software issue or something

sounds right ,,, but this problem isnot constant ,, i mean it sometimes occurs frequently and it may not occur for days ,,, plus the service center officers are rude enough to let go any problem

Make a video out of it and take it as a proof. Connect your PC speakers instead of a headphone to get the sound with the video.
A couple of days ago I updated my Xperia Neo from 2.3.4 Gingerbread to the newest ICS.Well today I woke up with 6 missed calls, because apparently the back speaker stopped working. Not even the slightest bit of sound comes out of it.
Headphones work, "call" speaker works, but the back one just died.I haven't physically "abused" the phone.I dropped it lightly a month ago, but I doubt that's the problem.
Repaired software via PC Companion - still not working, so it must be hardware.I haven't rooted the phone.Haven't tried any speaker mods/apps only the stock Xloud.
The phone is 1 and 1/2 months old and the speaker died already...what the hell is with hardware quality these days...
Any ideas guys?Please help.

most probably a hardware problem.. give it a service ASAP.
The problem is no SE authorized service in my country and sending it to another country just to get the speaker changed...I don't know.
Would it be expensive to find someone who knows what he's doing and get it changed?

yeah..maybe..you could try some help from the recognized contributors.. if its a hardware problem, try finding someone nearby..or just ask for an exchange where you got it.
Have you already tried the service test menu (*#*#4636#*#*)?
So music playback etc also doesn't work, how about touch feedback sounds?
You can also try going back to Gingerbread with flashtool.
Same thing happened to mine a couple of months ago. I sent it for repairs, and the report indicated that the speaker's metal contacts (?) became loose.
I've found people complaining about the same issue on another forum I use to go to. So yeah, unfortunately it seems that the device is poorly built...
i have the same problem here but not totally..
several moths ago i accidentally drop may xperia neo v and then there is a bit of change in sound.
sometimes it is so silent and then somtimes it is to loud.
but i think it's fix now..

I've had this problem twice - once I missed my alarm in the morning.
Solution was to gently whack the phone against something hard and it's fine again - I've got a case round it so no damage done. I got the phone secondhand so it could've been damaged before I had it.
try plugging in and out the headphones

Remove the back cover and try applying pressure on the areas near the back speaker. It happened to and this works
Here's how I fixed mine.

This is how i fixed mine:
---This is only for fixing the loose connector problem. Luckily, this was my case.
I need to clarify that you don't need to open the whole phone and take it apart. Just the right side panel (The one without any buttons)
1. Remove the back cover. (of course, your phone should already be turned off by now)
2. Remove Battery, sim card, and sd card.
3. Unscrew 6 screws at the back of the phone. (actually, you only need to unscrew 3, but just go with me now)
4. Remove the two plastic side panels.
Take note: side, not front panels.
(and actually, here, the only panel needed to be removed is the right one, the one without buttons)
5. look at the back of the phone. place it in a table in such a way with the speakers near you and the sd card slot away from you.
6. you will see a fine black wire running on the right side panel (after you already removed the plastic panel)
7. It runs from below the sd card slot to the right side of the speakers.
8. take a tool(preferably not sharp)
---The connectors can be seen because there is a small gap/hole where you can see the connector pins.
9. Now, use the tool (i used a small flat screwdriver) to push down the first connector (the one on below the sd card slot)
10. Next, push down the second connector (beside the speaker)
After that, boot up your phone and try playing some music. It should work fine now, if the problem was loose connection.
I notice that I'm a bit too late but i hope this helps anyone else who might encounter this problem.
BTW my phone is NEO V but i think it should be the same with your NEO's. Cheers! :fingers-crossed:
If u need a picture, you can private message me, or i can give u a link from youtube. Just search: disassemble xperia neo or assemble xperia neo. Both helped me in the process. Find the videos by mobi mobirout. That's it!
Update 1: Here's the vid on disassembly.
Update 2: @Pantamorph
Sorry I got messed up when I sent you those two messages. Check this new image, it's more complete.

Don't whack it you can try applying pressure as pinuno2007 suggested if you want it simple, or try the solution I posted http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=47544468&postcount=11
btiu idea
PLEASE DO NOT PERFORM ACTIONS THAT ARE DESCRIBED ABOVE !!!! THIS IS NOT A SPEAKER CABLE THIS IS AN ANTENNA YOU CAN GET ADDITIONALLY PROBLEMS WITH YOUR RANGE (if you damage this cable or connectors)
The back speaker on my Ace stopped working. I don't know when it happened. Last time I listened to music today, it was working fine. Later, I noticed the sound was all distorted so I decided to reboot only to find it didn't work at all. I did drop it from around waist height, I have a protective case and the phone fel on a carpet though. Headphones still work, but no sort of sound comes from the speakers. Boot animation, alarm ringtones, music, nothing. Probably have to send it for repair, right? :/

Yeah it might be hardware issue btw just flash once stock rom n then check! If still not working then give it to service center
This is for sure a hardware failure because everything was working fine earlier and after falling it just stopped functioning. You can contact a local phone repair shop that would cost you less and also take less time than a service center.
P.S - Experience around 15 day wait for replacing touchscreen from service center
Headphones stopped working all of a sudden too. I was listening to music and it just stopped working :/ No other falls occured :/

Just flash stock rom once if that dosnt work then go to repaire shop and change the speaker

Flashing stock ROM did no good. Sounds like it's a hardware problem.
