Bump- nobody in a forum that has 4mil people know the answer??
That doesn't look like ODIN 4.38 to me .
This was sent from a Galaxy Ace. Problem?
That's strange man. :-( Odin work in mostly all cases. You just need to be sure if it's one package or multiple files. Cooper.ops file is must to be selected.

Do you have Kies installed on your PC? If so, go to task manager and check the process list for all processes that start with the word kies and kill them.
That's the only thing I can suggest as it's the only reason Odin hasn't worked for me in the past.
Well make sure u hav admin rights bfore using odin dat helps i hope

Hi,
I have tried to update my galaxy s2 with Kies but the update fails
Now when i turn on my phone it says "Firmware update encountered an issue. please select recovery mode in Kies & try again"
How can I replace the original firmware?
It was a Vodafone-it Firmware.
Thanks
check if u can go in Download mode keep pressing volume down + home + power after switching the phone off..

yes it goes in download mode but i don't know what i have to do after that becouse Kies tell me that it doesn't see the phone and askme a code for replace the firmware....
Your phone is perfectly fine so Don't panic. You have to use Odin to flash stock firmware. Ask some other member for help regarding Odin. As I have to go for some work. And specify your phone's model no. Must be on the sticker that is on your phone below the battery..
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
tell us your phone model
your OS version
and if you have any knowledge of Odin or Heimdall
hi, i have tried with odin and maybe i have selected a wrong files becouse it frozened...
I restart the phone and now it doesn't work, always black screen and now the download mode doesn't work too...

I told you to tell the model no. And then we could tell you what files and which Odin. Maybe you have a variant 9100g which is Omap4 and you flashed exynos files on it..

well, i risk my friends phone to try and root, i installed the wrong the all-in-one zip which will root and replace recovery with CMW .
It made me a soft bricked , cannot be boot or stuck at boot logo. and the recovery wont work. i tried the solution made by others that using odin3 executive v1.0.0. i went into download mode and start the button on odin3. on the half way. the message stops. i've force to unplug it and see weather it works . but then nothing happen. i can't even boot up the phone .
anyway , when i tried to connect it to the pc . the driver logo popup but installation of driver failed .
I wonder if USB JIG could help me go into download mode again .
help :crying::crying:
If you can manage getting USB jig try it... And if you cant i better recommend you jtag...
Anyways what u were flashing via odin?
Peace
Hit Thanks & It will Disappear

Press and hold the power button to restart it. Does it still reboot into the Download mode?
If yes, then try and install a stock ROM.

custom binary download no (previously stated4)
current binary samsung official (said something different before)
system settings custom
i swear this is doing my head in :0
Basics as its very difficult to understand your posts .
Download mode first screen vol up .
Open Odin
Load firmware file as PDA
Connect USB cable
First box in Odin should show yellow then hit start .
Note at what point fails .

who wants a samsung s3 brick b4 it goes into the trash ???
antway thnx buddy this rooting is not fr me :0
Put it on ebay just say what the problem is .
Someone who reads your post will come to the conclusion its just a user who has not followed the instructions annd may think its worth a cheap buy .
Odin is not firmware CF Root is not firmware .
jje
Make sure that uve downloaded the correct CF-Root file (for i9300T and NOT i9300)... I think its nothing to do with SDS... Anyway try the following link and download the package again...

hey,...
I am trying to flash my galaxy ace and I am in downloading mode...put recovery.tar file in PDA section and when i hit start...nothing happens and after a while i get failed notice and says " Can't open the serial(COM) port." what am i doing wrong? It gets stuck on setup connection for awhile before this happens, I am a bit confused because I dont think my pc is recognizing it. It said drivers were not installed properly but everything was ticked except device was unplugged. I have downloaded samsung kies and it just takes ages and gets stuck on connecting. Any ideas?
-Any help greatly appreciated
-EDIT - Also The device is currently bricked.
