Is there a CM7 for 8GB nook tablet emmc - Barnes & Noble Nook Tablet

Is there a cm7 rom specifically built for 8GB Nook Tablet? I tried to run the March 9 final alpha from SD card but the speed is way to slow to be useful.
I read most of the thread but I was able to find any cm7 rom for emmc. Can anyone build one? Thanks.

Maybe the card?
I ran CM7 on my Sandisk 16GB Class 4 card for a week before installing CM7 internally. I did not notice a speed difference at all. Certainly not what you state.
I would sugest trying a "better" card. There are many threads on this subject if you use the search.

I have been running CM7a via sdcard for a couple of months. During the time that my NT8 was bricked, it was the only thing that worked. Now I have cm9 internal and still use CM7 on SD (using it to write this). I find it to be as responsive as the internal cm9.
I have CM7a loaded on a 16GB SanDisk class 6 card. No problems.

Did you read the guide on installing vgb in the dev section. There is a custom bootloader you need to flash...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1212239
this should work for miui, cm7, and vgb since they all are mtd based roms.
I don't think a bootloader is going to fix the SD card problems. These phones eat SD cards, even in "stock" OTA form. It's not isolated to MIUI, CM7, or OTA for that matter.

[Q] Best Rom/ Ram

Hello Devs,
I am just new here. I have the YP-G70CWY-XXA GB version, it is on 2.3.5 and I want to update it to 2.3.6. My question is, What is the best version to install via Odin and will it work without updating the Kernel?
Another question is, is it possible to Ram swap with class 4 mSD on our units?
Last is, is it possible to unroot?
Thank you very much.
Just check out any rom that is compatible with your device (US/INTL). It all comes down to your personal decision.
What do you mean by ram swap? A micro sd is just extra storage.
As for unrooting, you have to see according to the rom you'll flash.

Sorry if I am mistaken. I am really new to Android and wants to learn it.
I just want to root it and change some scripts if possible and then unroot it. But if the tings that I am looking for are in one of the roms, might as well use that rom. Any Stock kernel around. I hold 2 versions of SGP. one with Button and the other has none. have soft B the none and now looking for solutions. It may just need a kernel reflashing.
Anyway, thank you for the reply and more power to the dev people like you.
Cheers!

why do you care wether it's rooted or not? it makes no real difference, other than being able to access the root of your sgp...

Just stock is enough. I will use it to control and monitor AIX servers coupled with AS based systems. Due to my job, I wont take the risk staying rooted. besides, I just want it stock/ I got ADB running on one AIX system to dev. so, I have my reasons and you have yours I am sure. It is just a job for me.

Yes, it is possible to swap card spaces. I have a 64gb that I want to try it with, but first I have to figure out how to root and rom my Player 5.
OK you want to swap your micro sd card with another. Of course it's possible. It's just external storage. I never tried with a 64gig card but in the accessories forum other members said it works for them.

he wants to use his external sd as ram not storage, which as far as i'm concerned, you cannot do
Thank you very much to all of the dev and those who helped.
For now, I did root it and inserted the scripts I need and it is working like a charm. However, Atrix 2 has a script to switch the SD card from internal to external. Yes, I woulds like to do so. Is it possible to use class 6-10 card 64Gb? Better yet, if we can use part of the 64GB as an ADDED feature to increase the ram like a unix or linux style, will it be possible? If we could run the ram using entirely the class 10 SDcard, it would be the best. The unit will be lightning fast. Will have no lag on those who play heavy games.
It is just a question though.
By the way, the Ureadahead script for the SDcard, can it be set higher than 512 up to 1024 or 2048? or it depends on the latency of the processor and the ram capacity ?
Dev Teams,
Might see something interesting here for SGP4 & 5.

[Q] Compatible Roms for SD MMC 64GB

HI All,
I bought Sandisk 64GB MMC and i found this ODD that some Roms recognize it without any problem while other simple declares it damaged ... so i am just wondering whether this is something to do with Kernal or something else, coz. i am scared to try new roms not knowing whether will it accept my 64GB card or not?
I am currently using rXtreme Rom and it works fine with it.
Thanks in advance

It should be related to the kernel as he has to support certain SDcard formats etc., but please correct me if I am wrong
All the ROMs support it as long as it's in fat32

Correct.
AOSP based ROMs only recognizes FAT32, you can format your SD card by following this thread.
If you are to use Samsung/Touchwiz based ROMs, you don't have to format, as these support EXFAT which your SD card probably are.
Thanks guys. This really helps.

Exfat sd in aosp

You want your exfat card to show up in cm and cfx? Well then flash the zip in the link (the tldr paragraph) in recovery, reboot, and smile. It works perfectly in cfx sr15 with 64gb uhs1 samsung card. Happy Friday!

I thought that surely there would be more folks interested in this. What's the point of having an sd slot if you're not going to load it up with the largest compatible card that's reasonably priced? And you know fat32 has been around since like 1996 or something like that, right? My exfat card is even a wee bit faster than the on board nand flash lol.

Oh, don't you worry. Once I flash to a 4.2.2 ROM I'll be using this. Just waiting for the camera and GPS issues to get worked out.
I also took note of this, but since i need my phone to be stable...i figured i'd give you a bit of time to test run the utility. I expect I'll be trying it out in the next few days.

Yesterday I updated to twrp 2.4.4. Reformatted my 64gb sdcard to exfat.
Then upgraded my rom.
So far so good.
All with a lil help from my friends on xda.
Does twrp support exfat?

Yup. all works well. I think exfat support was added around twrp 2.3 or so.

Did you flash the fix for location services and sd r/w? I believe there was a link somewhere in snow's thread. I'll have to wait til i get home to test to see if it works on his build as I am currently at work.
EDIT: Here is the link. Fix
This is only applicable if you trying to use an NTFS or exfat or any other format listed in the first post. formatted sd card.

alright. first off, do you want to keep the Nook OS on your tablet (which means you have to run your ROM off of an SD card) or do you want to replace it entirely?

i found it easier to install CM on the internal memory, aka the eMMC chip, which replaces the Nook OS. your call though.
oh also there's a bunch of different ROMs for this tablet. different versions of android too, but IMO, anything from jelly bean (4.1) and up is pretty good. however, i've heard bad things about CyanogenMod 10.2 (latest stable version on their site) and i don't really like kitkat. if you want a really stable ROM, i like cm10.1.3 and there's a really old cm10 build that i like, it's not provided by the official CyanogenMod team though.
if you haven't noticed, CyanogenMod is the most popular custom ROM.. ever. and i think it's the one best-maintained by the devs here. you could try others too but for the average Joe Shmo (like you seem to be ) CyanogenMod is the best option.

To create a CM11 SD card, you can adapt the procedure outlined at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2098419: in steps 4-6 and 9-10 just substitute in the appropriate SD-based version of CM11 and corresponding Gapps zip files posted at Succulent's blog http://iamafanof.wordpress.com/2014...droid-4-4-2-for-nook-tablet-sdcxxx-01jan2013/, e.g., cm_acclaim_11.0_25APR2014_HD_SDC.zip and pa_gapps-modular-micro-4.4.2-20140426a-signed-sdc.zip.
