Did you read the guide on installing vgb in the dev section. There is a custom bootloader you need to flash...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1212239
this should work for miui, cm7, and vgb since they all are mtd based roms.
I don't think a bootloader is going to fix the SD card problems. These phones eat SD cards, even in "stock" OTA form. It's not isolated to MIUI, CM7, or OTA for that matter.

I meant the gb bootloaders.tar found in the link above. If I'm not mistaken, some folks were reporting that helped?

This may be a dumb question, but will doing EXT 4 delete what's on my Sd card?
thanks in advance.

If you're referring to the zips provided in the synergy and eternity threads, then no. These format the system/data partitions on the internal storage not the SD.
Yes, any patition to your SD will delete files of you card.
Back-up you stuff to a computer (SD >> Computer) do the EXT 4 partition and then Computer >> SD).
Oh and no question is dumb question!
Thank you!! i just wasn't sure. i am planning on flashing the MIUI rom and i figured any performance increase in good. Will any EXT4 zip work if i wanted to do that??

Umm I'm honestly not sure but I wouldn't think so. Your best bet would be to ask in the MIUI dev thread and see what they think.

Alright i will ask them. I don't wanna brick my lovely phone of mine. also, in regards to boot manager; Should i make a Sense rom my phone rom cuz it will run better that way? 16 GB sandisk
Well it won't brick it regardless, it will probably bootloop though so make sure you either have a nandroid or another ROM on your SD to flash.
Alright, so I have been searching through forums for days now for an answer to my problem. Still unable to find anything remotely close to helpful. So, I have been experimenting with some of the older ROMs for the Rezound, most notably, ones that have the close to AOSP Settings and Dialer. Every time I flash one of these ROMs that has that Settings APK, my SD Card is unusable. The internal "SD card" storage shows up in file managers, but not the external SD card. If i try to access the Storage section of the Settings, the Settings APK force closes. Anybody had this happen to them? Or now of a solution to this? Thinking maybe getting S-Off would fix it but not sure. Thanks in advance.

Are you on the newest ics leak? like hboot 2.21 and the new radios? if so this is probably your problem.
Also try posting in rezound Q and A next time, you might have better luck getting an answer there and this will probably get moved there, but ill still try and help you if i can.
Yeah, the newer ICS changed the mount points of the memory. (think street address)
Basically the older ROMs are looking in the wrong place for the SDcard and can not find it.
You can run Joel's senseless preview 2 Rom with the PH98IMGnewfirmwarepeople.zip and you should be just fine. That's assuming you've run the latest ICS RC RUU to upgrade your firmware. Which I'm guessing you did since you said its the older roms giving you problems.
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using xda premium
Yup, I did update to the leak. Thank you all for your help. Is there anyway to downgrade from said leak?
No you can't downgrade from the leak without S-Off. You can however use the "old firmware" patch to run most older ROMs. I think Scott posted it in the dev forum. And FYI, this should be posted in Q&A or General. The dev section is for posting ROMs/Mod/etc.. I'm sure a mod will move it shortly.
Alright, I might have to take the plunge and S-Off. Yeah, sorry about posting in the wrong section guys.
Would the patch to run the old ROMs be "PH98IMGOLDFIRMWAREPEOPLE.zip"?

I thought that patch was for people on the old firmware... to enable them to run the newer Roms, I wasn't aware it worked the other way around as well. Or does it?
Edit: I just reread your post and you said it was something that Scott posted, so I may not know what you were referring to.

Sorry, I got myself backwards...it's the "new firmware patch" to run old ROMs and the "old firmware patch" to run new ROMs. In any case check this out:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1558356
There are two patches. One for new firm users to use gb. And one for old firm users to use ics. It corrects the mount point issues, like no sd.

Is there a cm7 rom specifically built for 8GB Nook Tablet? I tried to run the March 9 final alpha from SD card but the speed is way to slow to be useful.
I read most of the thread but I was able to find any cm7 rom for emmc. Can anyone build one? Thanks.
Maybe the card?
I ran CM7 on my Sandisk 16GB Class 4 card for a week before installing CM7 internally. I did not notice a speed difference at all. Certainly not what you state.
I would sugest trying a "better" card. There are many threads on this subject if you use the search.

I have been running CM7a via sdcard for a couple of months. During the time that my NT8 was bricked, it was the only thing that worked. Now I have cm9 internal and still use CM7 on SD (using it to write this). I find it to be as responsive as the internal cm9.
I have CM7a loaded on a 16GB SanDisk class 6 card. No problems.

one suggestion. don't use apps2sd. there's no reason when you have gigs of space available for apps... it just slows down your phone..
just reboot and try installing again. if it doesn't work factory reset. oh and remove apps2sd that could cause it possibly.

You have created many new threads as of late asking many questions, all about rocko rom and most of them basic and/or vague. Have you ever thought the of ya know, trying a different rom? Thats the point of flashing roms, finding one that fits you and your phone. These forums are far from ignored, most here just offer help to people that help themselves. If you dont want to put the work in to learn how to troubleshoot simple problems, then perhaps you shouldnt be flashing. And you sure as hell shouldnt be bashing the people who take the time to offer you advice. Have fun with your gs3.
Also, these types of questions are meant for the Q&A section.

Mof 2.3.5ish rom, imperium initiative rom. Do you mean that youve taken the ota 2.3.5 update that permalocks you or your bootloader is just still locked? If its the latter, you can try out those roms. Im personally running mof and really enjoy it. But imperium was my favorite and by far most stable rom we had imo, and it has a locked version.

Bought the phone with 2.3.5 on it, and immediately started flashing stuff. So yes, my bootloader is locked and I can not use pudding.
And, thats great theres a locked version of imperium, but it is not compatible with Electrifys, unfortunately.

Mof his getting ready (if he hasnt already) to release a version of his rom for the 2.3.5 permalocked people. But regarding your problem, havnt been on bootstrap recovery in quite a while but im pretty sure you can still wipe cache, dalvik, and fix permissions. If you havnt already done that i would bet it would fix the majority of your problems with rocko.

Yeah, i've been waiting for mof to. He tried the other week and it didn't work:/
As for my problems with rocko, I just did a factory reset rather than SBFing and then re-flashed rocko, and sure enough most of my problems went away.
Take it easy man, later!
You want your exfat card to show up in cm and cfx? Well then flash the zip in the link (the tldr paragraph) in recovery, reboot, and smile. It works perfectly in cfx sr15 with 64gb uhs1 samsung card. Happy Friday!

I thought that surely there would be more folks interested in this. What's the point of having an sd slot if you're not going to load it up with the largest compatible card that's reasonably priced? And you know fat32 has been around since like 1996 or something like that, right? My exfat card is even a wee bit faster than the on board nand flash lol.

Oh, don't you worry. Once I flash to a 4.2.2 ROM I'll be using this. Just waiting for the camera and GPS issues to get worked out.
I also took note of this, but since i need my phone to be stable...i figured i'd give you a bit of time to test run the utility. I expect I'll be trying it out in the next few days.

Did you flash the fix for location services and sd r/w? I believe there was a link somewhere in snow's thread. I'll have to wait til i get home to test to see if it works on his build as I am currently at work.
