Cannot install roms - Motorola Droid RAZR

I have rooted my CDMA Droid Razr and use Bionic Bootstrapper to boot into CWM recovery v4.0.1.5 but after I do the wipe and such and try to install any rom (Have tried The Artic 2.3.1 and INFEX 1.1) they seem to complete the install fine but when I reboot I still have the stock rom. Any suggestions? Am I doing something wrong?

Well your first problem is that you're using bootstrap for the Bionic on a Razr.

Really? It was installed with a one click root option for the razr. What should I use then?

Thanks I got it. I just goggled for the razr bootstrap app and installed it via ADB and now it seems to work. Thanks!

Also make sure you read rom instructions most use safestrap or bootstrap but not both. make sure you are using the right one.

Trying to root X2 to CM7, boot loop after installing

I've been trying to get CM7 on my X2 unsuccessfully for about two hours, here's the process I took.
I saved all my stuff, and erased everything on the phone using the Android Recovery. I went back to 2.3.4 using RSDlite, then Root using Pete's Tool and installed OTA Protect. I then installed Bootstrap, installed recovery, went to recovery mode, installed CM7, and then GAPPs. Now, I wipe data, clear the cache, clear the davlik cache, and reboot. Now, this is where I just get stuck at the M Dual Core Technology Screen.
I searched the forum for answers, but I couldn't really my problem. It seems CM7 just isn't booting for me. I have tried this 2-3 times already, please help me out!
Why did you install ota protect? And make sure you are properly rooted and that the sbf worked... check your about phone screen to make sure... all I know is to sbf again and start from the beginning.
Edit: also did you install the patched bsr.apk for cm7?

I've had to sbf more thwn once to get my X2 to get up and running. I would say to try and sbf again and instal the patched CM7 BSR. If u have any other questions, u can always pm me and ill do my best to help u outout
STEEL BLUE CM9X2
SBF 2.3.4
Root phone
Install regular BSR
Flash CM and Gapps
Wipe data (not cache DATA)
Boot CM
Load BSR for CM7
You CAN NOT boot CM with regular BSR loaded , hence the wipe Data before booting.

Best Method of Rooting ICS on MAXX?

I rooted my old HTC incredible using a one click method that installed clockwork but I have no clue the best method on MAXX. I would like to root and have nandroid backups. RAZR Bootstrap or ClockWork Boot or Safestrap? I have no idea if I will install new ROMS, but don't most seem to say Safestrap but Clockwork says it works on all? What method did you use? I will be using an old XP machine to install on my MAXX that I recently OTA updated to ICS. I see methods, I just want to know which ones are considered the best before I risk my phone.

Use matts utility. Search for it at droidrzr.com

I recommend installing cwm touch for RAZR afterwards, as Matt's utility does not install a custom recovery.

Clockworkmod Recovery doesn't boot up

I rooted Droid X2 and am trying to install CM7 but cant get my droid to go into CWM it just goes into the system recovery. I've tried rom manager (v5.0.0.9) I've also tried using Droid X Bootstrapper
.Not sure if i have to delete the systems "recovery-from-boot.p" file. I cant find it either way its not under the /system file
Android version 2.3.4
Don't use rom manager or anything for the x. You have to install our specific one. Here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318083
Also once you have installed cm7 make sure to installed the patched bsr or you will run in to issues.

You need to use this MOTODX2_Bootstrap_signed.apk while you are still in blur and once you install CM7 use MOTODX2_Bootstrap-CM7-signed.apk

Yea I dont think we can use Rom Manager until the X2 has some some sort of workaround to unlock the bootloader. You'll always just flash stuff through the bootsrtap recovery apps, just make sure you follow the directions as to which one you are to use for the specifc rom.

This. I've actually found that the original bootstrap recovery works more reliably on CM9 than the CM7 version. Maybe it's just me.

Um you're asking for trouble, its only a matter of time. DZK even says used the patch BSR, its required.
Strange I've had the same experience. I'm on pa Rom and can't for the life of me get the cm7 bootstrap to work at all. I have had to use the original recovery also. I have had some strange issues that no-one else is reporting so I'm wondering if has to do with that. Anyone know what problems using the original would cause? I was thinking if it booted into recovery.....it was recovery.......but maybe I'm wrong.

Custom font using Rom Toolbox, now stuck in bootloop

All my Droid Razr is doing is just showing the Motorola icon and nothing else after I tried changing the font on my phone using Rom Toolkit. I don't have bootstrap or a custom recovery loaded on my phone. I am hoping that I can flash a font zip from stock recovery and fix it without losing any data.

I believe its the XT912. The Verizon one.
I believe I was able to fix it. I was going to use RSD Lite to flash the official ICS software. But I read the the fonts are only located on the system partition. So I took the official software and got the system img and in fastboot just flashed the system img. I had already lost all the data because I tried a factory reset. But I think that would have saved me from losing my data and I would just need to reroot the phone.

[Q] Trying to install SafeStrap 3.11 in preparation for CM10.1

As the title suggests, I'm trying to get SafeStrap 3.11 installed on my XT912 (Verizon carrier). I've verified root access, and even tried a redo of the root access, as well as multiple installations of the SafeStrap 3.11 APK, but the only thing I get here is "Unfortunately, SafeStrap has stopped". I'm at a loss here, and hoping that someone may have a suggestion to get me past this road block.

I'm getting no love from the recovery. Red triangle and dead droid image. I have ROM Manager, but there is apparently no official CMR for the Motorola RAZR.

When you get to de opened android press volume+ and volume- at the same time that will take you in to recovery and you can do the cache wipe.

Ahhh, got it. OK, that allowed me into the recovery menu. Wiped the cache, reinstalled SafeStrap... and no dice. SafeStrap still comes back with the same stopped message.
Do the Droid gods require a sacrifice?
