What kind of battery life are you getting - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Here is my result with a fair amour of use after maybe 5 cycles on my batt.

from my LTEvo that will not have 4G coverage utill after I buy my next phone ......

That looks promising. My battery life on my OG Evo is severely lacking.

Finally starting to get great battery life.

Not too shabby for light use and snooze time...
Sent from my EVO

I spent a lot of my time outside this weekend so I would say my phone usage was "lite" but I got over 36 hours and still had 30% left. Today I've been on it all day and im at 55% and I've been off the charger for 10 hours. The battery is a LOT better than my OG Evo but I'm SERIOUSLY impressed with this phones ability to "sleep"

I'm reading 59% after 7 hours and my first day of usage. My EVO 4G would have kicked the bucket hours ago. Though I haven't ran any hogging apps today, I have had my phone on a lot.
Sent from my EVO using XDA

Also, I'm not sure if anyone has noticed, but in the sprint zone app, under my device and power, it lists what is using power the most and has a quick button for putting your phone into a low power mode for saving battery. Neat.

I really want to test to see how my phone handles everything at once. This is not how i usually use the phone at all. I normally do everything manually when i need it or just not link it to my phone period. I am liking these kinda of results.
Screen autobrightness
4hrs screen on time
2 emails push
Facebook push
Weather update every hour
switched between wifi and 3g but stayed on 3g most of the time
Took lots of pictures out with the family and uploaded some to facebook

This is crazy!

Thats quite a bit of screen on time ... not bad results

After a few cycles, this is a beast with stock.

The phone sleeps well. Just woke up to this! Granted was at work yesterday so moderate use over all but nice to see.
Oh, almost forgot. This is with LTE running.

I'll have to grab some screenshots later, but I'm averaging some pretty solid use and breaking 20 hours. Love it.

played alot of angry birds trying to run it down....not bad overall i think...

Pretty light usage but thought I'd throw it up anyway.
Also, the screen isn't on during my talk time.
Phone sleeps incredibly well.

Great looking battery life all around. I don't know how some reviewers were draining the battery in 6 hours.

Any tips on how I can get thus sort of battery life? Currently getting around 6. IM at 80% screen. Thanks
I read a lot while streaming Pandora,

Interesting battery drop off over the past few days (pics)

Hey all,
Something is cutting my battery in half by midday where that never used to happen until evening with this extended battery on my Rezound.
I haven't even made any calls or used the camera. I would say I was actually using the phone for est than 1/2 hour collectively. No new apps have been installed. I attached some screen caps.
Interesting....
Thanks,
Matt!

Edit: whoops, just noticed you said you are running the extended. That resembles my std batt. Wonder what's up?
Click display, how long has your screen been on for? I just got 29 1/2 hours on my last charge. I have the extended battery also.
Display was on for 1.5 hours on Auto.

Wait a minute.... That's I'm possible. That means my screen was on for roughly 1/5 of the time that my phone has been off of the charger. No way. Super lights use today (maybe 30 minutes tops) and i shut the screen off every time I holster. I haven't seen the Screens on by itself at all either...? Hhmm... Nothing is running that would activate the screen either....
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
Oddly enough, my Wife told me that her phone did the exact same thing today.... I wonder if it could be something with the network in the area!
Sent from my ADR6425LVW using Tapatalk
OK....
Today I used my phone a lot more and it has been off of the charger for much longer and the battery is down only a FRACTION compared to yesterday. I am in the same areas I was in as far as coverage and everything. Below is a pic to compare to my OP.
Could it be network related?
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Matt!

There have been LTE issues around the country the last two days.
Sent from my HTC
LTE 4G Rezound
I had this issue yesterday!! I was at home all day using my wifi and my battery drained big time. I was at 63% by 2pm so I had to charge it since last night was my hubby and my anniversary and we were going out!! I had not even done anything on my phone. I had been busy knitting (haha yes I knit) LOL
I've had the same issue, I put my phone in airplane mode to see if it'd help. I believe it lasted much longer, unless its just the placebo affect, while occasionally taking it off to check for any messages. It's less than practical, but it works.
That new curve looks a lot more like my typical curve. I average 28-35 hours on my extended battery. I leave it unplugged at night now just because, lol.

I think it looks like bad phone signal. I've had that happen when I'm at my house where I barely get 2 bars sometimes
Sent from my HTC Rezound
Could be the fact that your screen is turning on in your pocket. Because it's in your pocket and you have auto brightness, it would make your screen be at 100%. Try the app screebl and see if that helps

How much screen on time did you have? how long has it been since you flashed your current set up?
Sent from my SGH-I777 using XDA App
sorry forgot that shot....i rooted and flashed on either Sunday or Monday this week.....now i do use bluetooth for work so i'm thinking that kills the battery big time....
That is kind of good battery life considering you got almost four hours of screen on time. If your really worried then you should get one of the 3500 mah batteries. I have this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=21589969. This battery gets me through at least a day and a half of heavy usage, and it works great for the price.
yeah i wasn't sure...i always keep reading about people getting 1.5-2 days on a battery...it's a new toy so hopefully when the excitement wears off that screen won't be on so much
That's exactly what will happen. You have new phone syndrome. I did too, when I first got my Galaxy S2. Except that I, unlike you, was running stock unrooted, and my battery life was more like 8 hours. I'm now running stock rooted with Entropy's kernel, plus I don't use my phone as much, and I get between 15 and 20 hours.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using xda premium
Yeah...with almost 4 hours screen on, and mostly on cell data (assumption based on your 2.x hours of wifi on) that isn't too horrible. Your total awake time is about an hour more than screen on, so assuming you had phone calls, music playing, or some other screen off background task to account for some of that, you're doing pretty good...
Sent from my SGH-I777 using XDA App
LOL so I'm guessing the best way to really conserve battery is to keep the screen off. Just outta curiousity (which I will test tonight after full charge) what is an acceptable drop rate when phone is fully asleep for say 8 hours or so. Like what 1-2% an hour?

I think the best I have seen reported is 0.5% per hour. Mine on wifi has been as good as about 0.8% per hour, but usually a little over 1%.

2%/hour idle drain I consider bad - that's why I haven't released a kernel since 1/2/2012 - I have a power management regression that pushes drain to a bit over 2%/hour when connected to wifi.
I strive for 0.5%/hour and get very close to that frequently when in a good signal area. In a weak signal area (like at my desk at work), it's around 1%/hour.
4.5%/hour or so is the idle drain you'll get if the phone is unable to enter deep sleep.

Why is my phone awake so much.

This is bone stock with no apps. Just got the phone yesterday. I unplugged it at 100% and went to bed.

Think so? I don't remember my last phone waking up so many times. It looks like each wakeup was short but a lot of them. I well ill see how it lasts throughout the day.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk 2
Maybe..... Because you had wifi on and have yet to tone down the sync settings. And since wifi is on its waking to since pretty often.
But the real problem probably is that the phone is brand new it takes a few days for battery reporting to calibrate properly. After a few days im sure you'll be fine.
Here's mine right now

I'm curious to know what kind of times everyone is getting on MeanRom 3.1? I'm running MeanRom 2.7 and have gotten about 33 hours on one charge and a little reluctant to update.

It isn't going to change significantly if you're on the same ROM. I don't recall Mikey adding anything that would drop battery life. That's not usually how he works.
I'm getting 20 hours on CM10, and man is that awesome. I'll lose 13 hours for true multitasking.

of course 3.1 has better battery life then 2.7.. alot has changed from 2.7 to 3.1 look at the change log

I would be interested in seeing Screen on time.
A graph of how long your phone has been sitting there isnt really helpful.
Screen on time provides a better sense of battery life because the screen is the biggest single battery drainer

Screen on time was a little over 4 hours or so. Phone finally gave out at 1 day 10 hours. I'm going to do another full charge/drain and see what I get under more realistic conditions at work vs hanging out at home/beach on a weekend.

(Q) Battery life

Ok so this is going to be a generic question
I'm thinking of buying droid DNA/ butterfly whatever it's called
Just wanted to know how's the battery life?
I'm a heavy user
So how long does it last under heavy usage?
Please share your experiences
Cuz I don't want to waste money on something that doesn't even last a few hours
Sent from my X10i using xda premium
I am what I consider a moderate user, I have got anywhere from 8-13 hours to a charge.
Awake time 2-4 was playing mp3's in my truck. Something I also did with my T-bolt all the time. I see people on other boards saying they stream music for 4-6 hours over wi-fi and still are getting more life than I am.

Hi, the battery holds up quite nicely even with the little 2020 battery. I can easily get at least 9-12 hours of moderate but mostly heavy use from the phone. The battery LIFE compares mostly to the S3 with this battery LIFE being slightly better from my tests.
Sent from HTC DNA "The beast of all beastly phones"
Moderate to heavy user: Get about 13-14 hours on a full charge with about 3-4 hours on screen time. Almost identical battery life to my S3 using stock Rom's as a basis for comparison.
This is what I see on a light day. Heavy usage is about 12-14 hours.

My battery life isnt too bad. i unplug from home at 6:30 AM, i use maps and turn by turn navigation quite often, and normally stream a half hour show for lunch, and text and talk here n there. my battery on average lasts until about 3 PM before getting to about 5%
I am a fairly heavy user and I see between 10-13 hours out of a full charge.

I use it and battery life is not good. It also depend on your app, and how you use it.
yeah same here, i get at least solid 8 hours, and that is constant kik'ing, texting, facebook, youtube, games. this phone is by far the best i ever had.
