Not seeing anything like this here, but seeing it done in other device threads, here is a place to drop unofficial kangs without the need to start an entire thread. Feel free to post yours.
It can also be a place to share ideas, and maybe learn how to do your own kangs.
I have been building randomly for the captivate, and personally for the crespo (nexus s) for a while. And now my brother is the guinea pig for my fascinate builds.
Mine right now are 'clean' (built directly from cm9 source), no cherry picks. And should go on randomly till official nightlies start. And each should be tested first on my brothers phone.
All credit goes to the cyanogenmod team, and all of the related developers and contributors, without them this wouldn't be possible.

Is anyone that has tried my kang having no data issues?
Actually it looks like it is a no signal issue....time to find the commits to fix it

That will fix signal bars only. Data is cuz the vendors from CM9 don't have update fascinate props. You can get them from one of my builds or AOKP/Gummy github I've updated them both.

Looks like it worked!
Thanks! Hard to test on devices that I don't personally own. I have a build uploading (6-3-12) now that looks to be running fine on my testers fascinate.

Alright ladies and gentlemen, I am glad to finally bring you the Evervolv series of ROM's. This is an alpha build, however most, if not all items should be working. I'm going to keep this post vague and update it when the rom becomes beta worthy.
This rom would not be possible without the CM team, so i give them props any time i can.

Everything should be working as of now (with the small except to the Brightness widget, it's functionality is there... but the UI updating is not just yet). The Nexus One i have has no sim card, so i can't test everything. However English is the main supported language, if google hasn't added the language support, i haven't either. This means certain apps will have no support at all (i.e. Evervolv Settings). If there is someone that would like to contribue the efforts to languages, we'd be more than happy to have you aboard.
Screenshots of the ROM in action can be seen Here - Screenshots

Q&A
Is this CM7?
No, this is a build that started from AOSP. However, some of the fixes and few features have been derived from the CyanogenMod Team, including the CM kernel.
How social is the evervolv team?
You can join us on IRC, irc.freenode.net #evervolv. Or follow myself and the status of Evervolv @preludedrew on twitter.

Nice, I am flashing now and will check it out.
Looks good and feels good aswell, but trackballwake is needed.
Why not. I haven't tried anything Gingerbread yet (been faithful to Rod's MIUI the last few months).
I'll download and check it out!

agree with this... this rom already support app2sd??
Liking so far. Its a breath of fresh air. Just something nice and new, really smooth and responsive.
It appears a2sd is not there? Maybe I'm wrong but under settings it said ext (unavailable).
Also, its a little eh that I can't change the dock settings (I know I can use LauncherPro and I probably will but I was trying to avoid that) because I use Chomp and DolphinHD so those dock shortcuts are useless.
Screen off animation is SWEET and boot animation is stellar.
Overall, seems very solid for a first release. I'll stick with it for now, assuming camera and camcorder work (I'm headed out to Sea World with the wife and son today/tomorrow so I need a functioning camera).
Great job and great release. I'll report back more Monday night when I get home and have used it for a few days.
Does this rom have the "wonk" problem? With nightly Rom I still have lots of problems

This was added yesterday along with the ability to change the left and right launcher buttons. I'll keep ya'all up 2 date. Best place for nightlies is my Twitter: @preludedrew. If you like to test things and just like to hang out with people... catch us on IRC, irc.freenode.net #evervolv.

Hi,
You say you've added trackball wake etc, but there is no new download link?
Have you just updated the file but not renamed?

I would communicate that as its a bit missleading
Also the capacitive buttons do not light up on mine. Full wiped twiced and same issue.

Great rom. I love the font and bootanimation. Wish the rom had a2sd.

OK, so after a few days use I'm noticing a few things.
Battery life seems to be average, nothing special. I hardly used it at all as I was on a small vacation (didn't make any phone calls, hardly text at all, didn't take pictures, surfed the web very very lightly) and my battery would very quickly drop to the 80's in % and beyond. Although, this could possibly be associated to my next thing.
When charging, light on top is green (fully charged) when it hits 90% battery. It does continue charging to 100% but I found that very odd that it turns green to indicate full when its at 90%...
As stated, the font is very nice too. Everything overall seems smooth, especially for a first release. I'd be nice to see new releases soon, of course with a change log etc.
Looking forward to see what is to come.
Can someone building this app from github? It looks pretty cool, but I don't know how to build nor do I think I have the equipment to.
Thanks!

I think I can f*p to this
Developers, please help! , this could help take multitasking on android tablets to a whole new level!
Would like to see this myself!
Thats really really cool, hope the developers here will do a build with ICS with that fantastic experiment!
CyanogenMod team is working in building it into CM9.
Think it's only compatible with ics and gingerbread when ics is more common on devices I think more cooks will add it. I can't believe their is not more interest from dev on this. Cm9 and Thor, are building this into their rom.
Not an APP. This has to be built into the ROM itself. I have been searching for the "user built ROMS" on Onskreen's website but with no luck. CMteam is adding it to CM9 but a flashable zip to drop the right files into the right places would be increadible. This would give most people the option to use what ROM they want and then flash the "Cornerstone into said ROM. I am excited about this.
Including this into the ROMs might make Google decide to pull ROMs out of access to the Android Market I've read.
Not sure if and how this would all pan out.
edit: if CM would include this as an optional package that would remove the risk of excluding ROMs to the market, nice find mtjnkee
work in progress? or already an app ready?
I thunk it'll still a work in progress.

Roman from the aokp rom has a special edition of his rom with cornerstone built in. It is buggy (onskreen needs to fix it up a bit), but if you want to test it out here it is. For the wifi 10.1

It's in an overnight build of AOKP--a one-time thing, I believe. It has a long way to go to be generally useable.

Yes but when I made the original post he hadn't included it yet.
Any roms for the a500 with this built in yet. Available now?
I think that once more devices start to implement ICS then we will see a much faster development time for these sort of OS enhancements

For interested readers: plus(dot)google(dot)com/117962666888533781522/posts/bPKE7qtvwC9 CyanogenMod - The Cornerstone Breakup
So IMHO they're more on building an own solution to this, taking Cornerstone as an origin.
If anyone has a Touchpad laying around there is an CM9 Kang ROM with Cornerstone baked in over in the Touchpad development section.

Nightlies are probably going to be less stable.
Basically, when you get a nightly, it's not yet been released. It's what somebody was working on last night...when they quit working on it, whether successful in what they had been working on or not, it was uploaded - hence the name, nightly.
And now you know.
And knowing's half the battle.

Well its slightly more than just something someone happened to be working on and left it!
I'm using the KANG of 20120216 and finding it is far better than my experience with .06!
And I'm about to flash 20120217.

EDIT: I re-read this reply after posting my response, and the first sentence is just incorrect. A 'nightly' is nothing "more than just something someone happened to be working on and left it".
The rest is subjective opinion, but the definition of what a nightly is can be found clearly explained below.
I think you've misunderstood me, or something else somewhere along the line.
I'm not saying that they're better or worse than official releases.
I was merely pointing out that the way they come about, is that they aren't fully evaluated and tested for stability in order to be released publicly as a finished product.
Before a major release, devs will typically spent time testing their software themselves, in addition to sending it out to 'focus groups' (they aren't REALLY focus groups but serve the same function) where they are further tested...then upon completion of testing, or when a threshold of minimum functionality has been reached (often with a pre-specified maximum number of bugs or critical failures) they can be released publicly.
Nightlies don't go through that extensive testing. That's where the name comes from. The devs 'clock out' and the ROM is built, and posted as a 'nightly'.
From the CM Team:
... Lastly we have the Nightlies, which are as volatile as a firmware can get. These releases keep coming at an interval of a day or two and if you do end up trying one of these, do not be alarmed if the your device goes cuckoo on you. These ROMs are largely untested, and as advised by CyanogenMod, not meant for use for an average user. These releases, are meant to test untested waters with tweaked codes that may or may not break your phone.

My understanding was that the nightlies were being built automatically by a script that pulls the most recent source from the cm server. As new code is added daily by devs it is automatically put into nightly builds for testing.

As far as I'm aware, you are correct.
Hey guys,
I just want to add, the one of the developers of the official CM9 alpha release is recommending users install the nightly as there may not be an official update pushed put anytime soon.

Nah ....
It's not uncommon for nightlies to break cycles, as CM does system changes, or merges new commits into the tree.
It's not a guarantee that nightlies will hit every day, and besides, we know that Samsung still hasn't dropped source for several tweaks that can hit our device.
It's all good ....g
loads of mr1-staging commits... id standby and not worry about it...
prepping for the jump to 4.2 no doubt...

The CM team is making good progress currently, along with their other devices. I'm also working on Pac-Rom sources. And if / when both of those work out, I'll try my hand at AICP. It really is only a matter of time for these things. As I have said in the past, as long as I'm rocking the Jewel, I'll be developing for it as my time allows.
UPDATE - For you builders out there, I'm pretty sure that CM 13.0 will actually compile cleanly now using no commits of any kind. But it won't boot yet. We're getting there.
