[Q] Google Voice notifications don't work - HTC Rezound

I'm running a Rezound with the latest leak's radios, etc., and CleanROM Pro 4.5. For some odd reason, I can no longer get notifications from Google Voice. I have to open the app to see if anyone's called me or left a message. Anyone got any idea what's going on?

I had this happen once on my Eris...
Go to Settings > Apps > Google Voice, then clear data and clear cache. Then reboot the phone. I always go to recovery at this point and erase the cache partition and wipe the Dalvik cache.
After you reboot the phone back into your ROM, you will have to open up Google Voice and set it up again and redo all your preferences, but it should accept push notifications after this.

I've seen alot of people having problems with Google voice on CleanROM.

I've got the same problem. In order to get my texts, I have to go into my app and refresh. This makes it seem like the sync isn't working or something. I followed these steps and had no luck.

Maps force closing on Navigation

Hi all, hopefully someone can help. I am getting a weird force close on the Maps app when I try and use Navigation. From the Navigation app, I choose a contact (or type an address) and click navigate and immediately Maps force closes every time. What's odd is if I go into the Maps app itself i can type a destination and it works perfectly until I try and get directions using navigation, then it does the same force close. Any one have ANY idea what might cause this or how to fix it?
I am running Das BAMF Ginger Remix 2.0-5 with stock kernel and newest release radio.
Try going to Menu > Settings > Applications > Manage Applications > Maps > Clear cache / Clear data
Thanks for the reply, I went in to settings and when I first opened the app I got a weird "twitching" or the data/cache numbers, switching from 0 to other numbers I couldn't make out. When it finally settled there was no cache to clear but I did clear data, and got the same result when going back in to the app

[Q] What is causing process.gapps to stop?

For the life of me, I cannot figure out what is causing com.google.process.gapps to stop. I have narrowed it down to it being triggered when it syncs internet data through Accounts and Sync.

Ok i found out how he did it. You will have to go into the browser settings and clear cache, cookies, passwords etc. Then u have to go to settings - application manager and click on All. Then scroll down to google services framework. Click on it and then clear data. I rebooted afterwords for good measure. I was able to sync internet sucessfully without a force close. But i think this issue is being caused by some random setting that we are setting. If anyone finds out the source of this issue, please post.

The phones don't ship with google processes failing so what are you guys doing to the phone? If you have rooted the phone and tinkered with roms you have to flash the rom then flash the most updated gapps package for your phone or you will get force closes.
Also, you can fix force closing of google processes by booting into CWR and clearing dalvik cache as this forces ICS to rebuild symlinks and other databases for your apks....

My current rom and config is shown in my signature. I am thinking that it starts force closing when i start making changes to default settings in settings menus relating to browser/internet because if I uncheck sync internet from accounts and sync, it will not crash anymore. But when I recheck it, it crashes upon sync. But again, i am not sure which exact setting is causing it. That's all I am doing. I will try clearing dalvik cache and see if it persists. Also, another issue is that i am using TiBackup and freezing google movies and books. When I reboot the phone, they magically re-appear.

It did this error for me right out of the box once I synced my gmail account. Maybe it's something held over from some other phone that I've had?

ok... The plot thickens. lol did you restore ANY google apps using Titanium backup? if you did thats a big no no. Factory reset will probably set you right up. You can also reset dalvik cache as well.

Interesting... you may have some google app settings that are interfereing with ICS from other gingerbread or ICS roms... try factory resetting and then uncheck anything that says restore apps or account settings when setting up your phone and that should eliminate the issue. Report back as I am really curious
No i did not restore gapps with tb. When i do a restore, i do restore missing apps. Being that gapps are preinstalled, it would not restore using this option. I wiped dalvik cache as advised above. Then made changes to browser default settings and it hasnt fc yet.

Bump. Does anyone have a solution for this?
Update: Wiping dalvik cache appears to have permanently solved the problem. However, it still remains a mystery as to what actually caused this.
I disabled "sync internet" in my Google and Samsung accounts and the gapps problem is gone. I don't even know what sync Internet does but my guess is that was the problem.

As i stated in one of my first posts...that i figured out that sync internet triggers the crash. What sync internet does is it syncs favorites and browser settings. I use chrome on my pc, browser on tablet and browser on my phone and sync my favorites across all three.

WhoWhoo I (TEMPORARILY) fixed my Bluetooth Voice Dialing on JB

I'm on MeanBean (not sure how this applies to other ROMS).
It was failing 99.99% of the time over Bluetooth.
I just tried uninstalling Google Search with Titanium Backup.
Then Reinstalling from Google Play Store.
Still Broken.
Then I Cleared Data on Google Search, Rebooted to recovery and Cleared Cache (thinking some BAD learned data might be the cache).
BINGO It works perfect OVER Bluetooth now.
I don't know if it was the, clear data, reboot or the clear cache but these steps absolutely fixed it.
Uninstall With Titanium Backup.
Install from Market.
Go to Apps and Clear Data (again this might clear corrupt learned data).
Boot to recovery, Clear Cache.
Reboot
I tried 5 names that would COMPLETELY fail before.
I can't say if this will stick for good, but it looks promising.
That's it.
Read Posts below...
Wait !!!
It stopped working.
I swear it worked perfectly !!! for 5 minutes.
I put the phone down to write this post.
Picked it up and said the SAME names and now they completely miss.
I wonder if it rebuild the bogus lookup table or something again.
Yeah, the Google Now voice dialing is pretty poor.
Apparently moving the app from a system app to a data app should give you the option of using either GNow or the stock Voice Dialer (at least it did on ICS). Is the stock Voice Dialer included in the build?
My device is bricked currently, so I can't check/test.

I don't think the old search is included but that might allow a 3rd party app to work.
Sorry to hear about your bricking.
Well at least I found a pattern...
More Info...
It's the clear cache that momentarily fixes it.
Works every time.
Reboot to Recovery
Clear Cache
Reboot
Voice Dial Over Bluetooth Works every time using say 3 different names.
Wait a minute and then it will fail with the SAME names no matter how many times I say it.
This is STRICTLY Bluetooth. Handset works fine.
My guess is when I reboot with cleared cache, it skips using the optimized search database. Because it always pauses when it works after I say the name.
I think the search database is somehow only compatible with the handset.
Once the search database is built the Bluetooth then uses it and fails from there on.
Clearing Data or Cache from the Apps Settings seems to have no effect. But clearing cache from Recovery does. It might be that when I do it from recovery there is an implicit reboot too. But Force Close, Clear Data, Clear Cache will not bring it back.

that's an odd one.
you might try the following:
1. Reboot the phone if you haven't already.
2. clear the cache on the home app. (Settings > apps > all apps > launcher > "Clear Cache")
3. Its been a while since I've used trebuchet but if it has a reset feature you might try that as well
a.I would guess the easiest way to get to it would be starting at the home screen then hitting menu > launchersettings . reset
(if someone else actually uses that launcher feel free to chime in.)
4. otherwise you might even try downloading a different launcher from the market and see if your apps show up there.
5. if none of that works you can also try rebooting to recovery and wiping cache and dalvik cache. (just don't wipe data or you really will lose your apps)
Thanks. I tried EVERYTHING. Luckily when I turned it back on an app had updated so it showed in the status bar and i could get to google play for that and go to my back up app open it up from google play and back up all my apps. And then someone text so I could get into my contacts and save them from there. (if theses hadnt happened i would have been SOL) Then I rebooted into recovery and wiped everything like I would normally do for a new ROM and flashed 10.1.3 again but it kept coming up with an error tried it three times couldnt get it to work. I even downloaded a new and tried that on and it wouldnt work neither would the new 10.2. So something in the phone just doesnt like that ROM!!! I ended up flashing a slim rom and its working just fine now.

Severely Delayed Notifications

Hi, I have a Pixel XL on Verizon running the latest stock firmware (v7.1.2). I have a problem with my notifications taking hours or sometimes over a day to show. This includes apps like Gmail, Outlook, Instagram, Slack, and even things like Dominos. The issue is present regardless of my connection, whether I am on Wifi or LTE makes no difference.
I've read other posts and disabled the battery saving options for these apps, but the problem is still there.
Is there something I can reset or clear a cache, or anything to fix the notification system?

I cleared the cache for all apps by going to Settings > Storage > Cached Data and that resolved the problem for about a week. Now the problem is back and I'll need to clear it again soon.

Thank you for answer. In my case it didn't worked. I tried clear cache and dalvik cache from TWRP. Also didn't worked. I removed the also the google account, unsuccessfully too.
