Does anyone know how this thing works for streaming music apps? Last week when I got it, I was using Slacker or Pandora (I can't remember which) and it was linked up to the music widget. When I was playing music, it also replaced the weather lockscreen with one with the music widget.
Anyway, fast forward to today and I can't get the damn thing to do a thing. I have tried playing Pandora and Slacker and the music widget doesn't pull in either app anymore. The lockscreen also stays with the weather. Does anyone know what I did or what happened to cause the music widget to break?
I haven't ran into the issue you've described...I've been using tunein radio and see the music controls on the lock screen. I've been using the "productivity" lock screen style, I don't know if that makes any difference.
Music App/Widget Issue?
Did you happen to install any new apps from the time it worked till it didn't? Have you tried Holding the Power Button down for a full 10 seconds (this is the same as a battery pull since it can't be user removed)? This step fixed my FM Radio app that came with the phone.
I had tried multiple power offs and back ons, and deleted the cache files for the FM Radio app but it still showed the FM Radio powering off, and eventually it would fail (no error) but just go back to showing on, and when I'd try powering off it would do same thing again. I finally resorted to Holding power button down for 10 seconds while it was on, and it gives a message shutting down in 3 sec, 2, 1... and boots back up. This time the FM radio app worked properly!

I'll have to try that. Thanks for the suggestion!
I noticed this same exact thing. I remember seeing the lock screen control for slacker right after I installed it, but haven't seen it since then. I'm using the weather lock screen and I can see the Play Music control when that app is streaming, but not slacker anymore.
I tried holding power for 10 seconds, and it did totally shut down, but still no slacker widget after powering up.
For a while there, I thought I was crazy. I'm glad someone else noticed this. I'll do some more digging and post here if I find anything.

Has anyone experienced their phone freezing/locking up? I'm not talking about lagging/freezing applications, but the whole phone actually locking up.
My phone seems to be freezing up about twice a week and has been for the last 3 weeks. Each time it has been when the device was in my pocket or on charge at night (and subsequently the alarm does not go off).
When the device is frozen like this, it has no indications of even having power. The power button will not turn the phone off, on, or wake the device. Plugging the phone into power doesn't even turn the orange/green charging lights on, nor play the tone for when power is connected.
I physically have to remove the battery for a few seconds from the phone and re-insert before the phone will start up. I have even performed a hard reset on this device.
Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I'm thinking that it might be a hardware fault, or at a really wild guess maybe the HTC Attentive App.
I'm having no problems with crashing or freezing!
I have actually found the device to be very stable, a lot nicer cleaner and stable than my previous device (Sony Ericsson Xperia X10).
Had exactly that problem a couple of times already. The only solution is to pull the battery out.
Still - better than an iPhone crash which requires you to plug it back into the PC before it will work again.
I had a similar situation:
I was making an international call (card service), when finished i heared the card IVR prompt if i need to make another call. I wanted to hang up but the screen was black adn dead. power button did not bring into life and i was keep on hearing the active call. had to take the battery out to kill this situation.
typically windows behaviour
Thought I had narrowed this down to the HTC attentive app, but alas the phone froze again this morning after hitting snooze 3 or 4 times. Oddly enough, the power button would turn the screen on and off, but the lock screen wouldn't show, nor could anything be moved or controlled on the screen (live tiles were still animated though). Battery pull again.
Yeah, typical windows behavior. No where near as bad as Windows Mobile which I came from though
I have the same issue. Can be in the middle of a call or anything. Had it reboot once while on charge too. Did you just remove the attentive app? Would it be worth trying a Hard Reset if that wipes the device. If so how easy is it to put your old Apps back on. Or do I need to write a list and search manually.
I did a hard reset and just didn't install the app again.
"When you buy or download apps from the Zune PC client, those apps are automatically redownloaded to the phone when you reset the device and login with your Windows Live ID again. When you download apps from the phone itself, you have to go to the Marketplace again to manually find and redownload the apps you want."

I've just flashed the Lite'ning Rom v1.5 and all is fine apart from the screen time-out...
The screen doesn't automatically go into time-out/suspend/lock unless I press the power button . I've checked the setting and tried setting it to 15sec, 30sec etc, but it doesnt seem to be working?
Had anyone else come across this? Anyone got any ideas?
Thanks
Do you have Titanium Backup installed? I had this when Titanium had been running.
Reboot of the phone sorts it out, but it would happen again after the next scheduled Titanium Backup.
I am using often titanium and never had this issue.
Another possibility, have you plug headphones? Try remove them.
Same issue, no clue whats causing it. It doesnt happen all the time either, it is intermittent.
Me too... usually - it happens not really often - this is when I am arriving at my office after listening andro radio, I cut data connection and I am listening mp3 instead because data is not reachable inside the building. In that situation, I need to unplug my headphones and things go alright for the rest of day
Litening ROM is launching music play when headphones are plugged.
Mmmm...well for the past couple of days the screen time-out seems to be working?! I've not changed a thing!....don't think its anyting to do with headphones as I've not been listening to music or radio.
Did find another glitch the other evening when I woke to find my phone (which had been left on charge) very warm and not charging?? Quick reboot sorted it but another gremlin none the less!
Hello i have an htc thunderbolt rooted with cm7 and earlier today i was playing music fine but then then out of nowhere i couldnt turn up/down the volume so i rebooted it , this time i start my music player an d it wont even load, it kept saying its not responding force close or wait, click wait for a couple minutes nothing happens, so i try to start my other apps its doing the same thing, so then i start my trial xtreme game it works but when i actually start playing it, everything stops working, my power button my screen and my home button. So i took of battery cover took it out put it back in turn it on, still same thing, all my apps are not responding , please does anyone know why this is happening?
I flashed the latest iteration of Eclipse, being sure to do a wipe data first. After reinstalling my apps, I rebooted, and the damned phone started playing this ringtone that I don't even use, and it won't stop!! I don't know what app or service is causing it, I've gone in and killed all the likely apps including DSP manager, and it still plays. Even after several reboots. It's driving me nuts! Help!
If this happened to me id simply load something like tasker, (id use the widget from golauncher) and kill everything, then watch what starts up and starts the ringtone

Okay, I found the perp. It was Volume Locker, an app I use because I tend to hit the volume buttons a lot without noticing. In this case whenever it started up at boot it would start playing that notification tone -- god knows how it picked that one, because it was so awful I'd never pick it myself -- and simply NOT stop. I killed the process and uninstalled the app, and now the phone is blessedly quiet once again. I still need something to lock in the volume, though ...
try to use advance task manager if the program hangs
works good for me
I've got a strange problem with my Sprint Galaxy Note 3.
What's happening is that randomly when I hit the power to turn the screen back on, it will do nothing then the screen will stay blank. The phone clearly still works because if I'm on a call or listening to music it will still keep playing and the volume and other buttons continue to work.
When that happens I hold down the power to turn the phone off and then on and it boots up normally.
Rarely what will happen is the same behavior except the screen will go strangely green after I hit the power button, making the phone unusable until an off/on.
This happens sometimes multiple times a day, sometimes days without happening.
Phone is rooted, running OC5 on Android 5.0. Problem has been happening for months. Haven't made any system upgrades or installed any major apps so that isn't it. I'm thinking it is some kind of loose pin/wire but don't want to crack the phone open without a plan.
Any help appreciated!
