ICS friendly folder app? - Sprint HTC EVO 4G LTE

Looking for a folder application that does not pop up a menu button when the folders are open.
On my OG Evo Id have gesture actions for my dock to open up folders made in apps like either http://goo.gl/Wldwa or http://goo.gl/hakGF
The problem on the EVO LTE, is that now when I do the same thing, a menu button pops at the bottom of the screen, which forces a redraw of the UI, and slows the whole experience down.
So does anyone know of a good way around this? Or a folder application that is ICS friendly enough to not pop a menu button when browsing the folders it creates?
I am using APEX launcher, and its folders are wonderful, but cannot be tied to a gesture action, only a spot on the dock...

Simi Folder Widget used to work pretty well for me, but I haven't tried it with quite the scenario you're describing

Simi was no good:

Popped up the menu button, and as well put the folder at the top of the screen.

Go launcher kinda doesn't do the menu on the folder itself, though it does have a line on top with the name of the folder.
Here's a pic I found on images.google.com

Not sure if that's what you're looking for, but it might do

I've been using Application Folder Pro since Gingerbread, also works on Honeycomb and ICS. You can customize the icon, name, the Window that opens when you open the app. Really awesome folder app. You launch Folder Editor from your app drawer, create a folder and add whatever apps into it. Then long press your home screen and add the application folder shortcut. You can select the type of Window that launches when you click on that folder.

How to restore icons in the app drawer?

I'm running touchwiz, and deleted the web icon from the app drawer. I have a web icon on my homescreen, but how the heck do I get it back into the app drawer.
How can I restore deleted icons in the app drawer?
Hey,
You can't delete the icon from the app draw without uninstalling the app. Since the icon is on your desktop then you have not deleted it.
TW allows you to organize/customize the app draw but there will always be the default setting with all apps. I have not used TW in a long time but, open the app draw and hit the menu button. If I remember correctly you will have options for custom app draw but there will also be the default, which will have all of your apps.

You actually can delete them, I know because I did LOL
You can delete it, by going to your app drawer, then hitting menu, then custamizable grid, then edit the grid, then pull the icon out of the app drawer and put it in your dock, now its not longer in your app drawer. Now put the icon from the dock into the trash, and now its gone!
I have a backup icon on my homescreen, but now, I can't seem to reverse the process and get the icon back into the app drawer
I guess the problem is, technically the icon is still somewhere is on my phone, just not in my app drawer! I want it back into the app drawer.
Sorry, maybe I was not clear. When I say app draw I'm talking about the default app draw. This display is not"customizable" therefore you cannot delete the icons unless you delete the app. You must be using a customizable grid.
You get the icon back by either using the default grid, or editing the customizable grid. Sound like you have the basics of the latter, just play around with. GL

Yes, I'm using the stock samsung touchwiz customizable app drawer. Trust me you can remove the icon from the app drawer, it lets you. The problem is, putting back in.
Yeah, SykesAT, you're incorrect. Give this a shot:
Tap "Applications"
Press "Menu"
Tap "View Type"
Tap ""Customizable Grid"
Press "Menu"
Tap "Edit"
Tap "-" (minus sign) on the apps that allow it.
Sadly, Sammy, I don't know how to get them back. Uninstall/reinstall an option?

The minus sign is uninstall, and it only allow unisntall not system apps. Web browser is a sys app and you shouldn't be able to delete it. Are you sure is not in the dock not the desk?
When you place an item in the dock, it desapears from the drawer...
You can always do a factory reset...... Not fun but it is something.....
Ok so messed around with it some more, and I thought I had trashed the icon from the dock. It appears it didn't go from dock to trash, it went from dock to app drawer, but out of alphabetical order so I wasn't seeing it.
So here is the new issue:
Techinically, I guess I want 2 copies of the icon, meaning.
I custamize my grid, I take the web icon OUT of the app drawer and put it into my dock. Meaning now the web icon is in my dock, and there is no longer a web icon in my app drawer.
However, I would like a copy, meaning I want the web icon in both my dock and app drawer. Anyway to make multiple copies of the icon? I know you can make multiple copies of icons on your homescreens, but seems like touchwiz doesn't give me the option. Either only lets me put it either in the dock or the app drawer, but not both places at the same time
I used desktop visualizer to create a second copy. Why not use a secondary web app like dolphin hd or opera? Just a thought....

Library Icon

Does anyone know how to restore the Library Icon to the Apps Manager? It was there at one time, but now it's gone and I can't figure how to get a link to my Library back on my main screen. BTW, I'm using Go Launcher. I thought maybe I could hold down and select shortcut on the main screen, but when I try to create a shortcut, all I get is a blank screen that lets me do nothing.

You should add to Home Screen using Application instead of Shortcut. Alternatively, you can access the App drawer, and long press on the Library Icon, then drag to bottom of the screen, and then drag to whichever home screen you want to add the Icon to. If the Icon doesn't appear in the app drawer, you may have to reinstall the app. If that is the case, let me know and I can try to post up the Library APK.
It's not appearing in the app drawer and I'm sure it used to be there. I also checked to make sure it wasn't hidden. I went into the system/app folder and found the library.apk there and reinstalled it. It still doesn't appear in the app drawer. I guess it's no big deal, I can always hit the N and bring up the library there.
It's really not as big a deal as the default reader that goes back to the cover every time I go back to a book I'm reading.
I noticed the same thing with the disappearing icons after the update to 1.4.1. I'm currently un-rooted, but using Go Launcher. I sideload apps usding adb through my computer.
My family has three NT's. I noticed that after taking the 1.4.1 update that several of the icon pictures were changed from the BN default to some generic android icon. I can't remember all of them, but they were the ones you see when you press your N button. Like the Library, Web Browser, and Shop. One one of my tablets I just replaced the icon image with something better looking using Go Launcher's replace. On another tablet my daughter accidently deleted the Web icon. When I went to get it back, that's when I noticed the same thing as you. That those icons were no longer in the app drawer so that I could add them on the desktop. They were definitely there before the update. In fact, one of my tablets I've kept from taking the update and they are definitely there. I goofed around and searched all I could in ES File Explorer, but couldn't find where they went on the tablets with the update. I did find the APK files, like you, but didn't reinstall to see what would happen.
Like you said, not a big deal since you can still get there from the N button, but some of the icons I like on the desktop. We ended up deleting all of the icons on my daughters tablet that you find on the N button, but there is no way to get them back unlesss someone here can enlighten this noob.

How to create folders on home screen?

I hold down an empty part of home screen and only wallpaper options seem to show up. I went into apps then widgets and didn't see an option to create folders. I want to organize apps in folders on my home screen. Help?

If you drag one icon onto another icon, it will put it into a folder automatically using the first icon as the folder icon. If you drag many icons onto it, it will stack the icon. You can name this folder too once you have 2 or more apps in a folder. You can even arrange the apps in the folder by holding onto the icon and dragging it around in the folder.
All of the above assumes that you are already on ICS

OP did say they only get wallpaper change option when they hold down on the home screen. That's ICS behavior, whereas Honeycomb would bring up the screen to add apps and widgets to the home screen as well as change the wallpaper. So, assuming the OP is on ICS makes sense.
This is one area where I actually preferred the way HoneyComb worked.

app to quickly access most used apps/folders?

Im looking for an app which would show some popup window containing apps/folders which I've selected.
The idea is that I could quickly access my most-used apps, and maybe folders, without flicking through many home screens.
Im using the stock A2.1 launcher (on SE x10mp).
any suggestions?
TIA
Im not sure, but maybe Folder Organizer or App Organizer apps could help you.
Many launchers with dock, can handle folders on dock for fast access.
Cheers.
It's a widget not a popup but you could give My most used apps widget a try. Never used it myself.
thanks, but Im looking for something which could anytime popup a window from which I can launch my most -often used apps or access most-often used folders.
on my nexus one i just press and hold my search key which brings up android recent apps. i think the same functionality should be embedded with all phones as its built into android.
I have that too on my x10mp (with the home button).
but recent apps isnt the same as most used apps (I might have 20 of the latter). also, this feature doesnt show quick link to a folder or a file.

Touchwiz folders in drawer

This is most likely the simplest thing in the word but i'm not figuring out. It's really easy to create a folder in the drawer in touchwiz and even rename it. But how the hell do i add apps to that folder? I don't mean in homescreen, i mean in the app drawer..
Thanks!
Just drag and drop into folder.
Keep pressed the icon and move over the folder.
Sorry man, that doesn't work or I am doing something wrong. When I hold an app to drag from the drawer, tw will immediately change to my home screen so I can put it there. At best I can drag it to the top where it says folder but that just creates a folder in my home screen. That's not what I'm looking for, I want it in the app drawer.
As I stand, I can create folders in the appdrawer just fine, I just don't know how to populate them
Edit: never mind just found out. Wow this is awkward. For the sake of anyone that may be wondering like me, you need to open the drawer, press menu, edit, touch a previously created folder and then it will let tick apps to move to the folder. I've seen better implementations, but it works. Thank you anyway.
