what's the different between these 3 models - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

i9100g
gt 9100g
sa 9100g
i found these 3 models from amazon

can i use the i9100 rom for these 3 models?
or only the rom from
Galaxy S II I9100G Android Development

All the same phone from what I can tell. And the i9100G uses a different chipset than the international, so you need to go in the G forums. If you flash an i9100 ROM on a 9100G, it won't work and you can possibly brick.

that's wired
the origianl price of the i9100 was 602
and the gt 9100g was 899
they are the same price right now
so which one should i choose

Definitely the international version i9100 !! better GPU the MALI 400

The I9100 is the most famous and popular, it's the international version so it has a lot of development in this forum
The 9100g uses another kind of chipset so u must go to 9100g forum for its developing stuff
I dont know about the 3rd

Negative. I9100G has better GPU. That's why it's more expensive.
Okay, the international model has more tweaks, can be oc'ed to 1.6Ghz and other cool stuff.. I9100G is newer, with different chipset, GPU and cannot be overclockable yet. Sooner or later the I9100G will also have a lot of tweaks etc. Developers are working on it. Of course overclocked I9100 will be faster than the I9100G, but with stock settings 'G' beats the non-g. But, it's your choice.

[Q] Galaxy S II GT-I9100G

What is it with this model and those optimized games? and compatibility issues? Seriously? Would it be solved anytime soon? Or is the G in the end means i shud give up hope on my phone? Most S2 optimized games on samsungapps can't be installed
From JayceOoi's website:
In short, Samsung Galaxy S II GT-I9100 is using Samsung own Exynos 4210 SoC CPU and ARM Mali-400 GPU. And GT-I9100G uses Texas Instruments OMAP4430 CPU and PowerVR SGX540 GPU.
TWO DIFFERENT INTERNAL SPECS, DIFFERENT GPU AND CPU.
I9100G
- Doesn’t overheat easily, better battery life.
- CPU seems to be capped at 1008 MHz.
- Poorer 3D performance.
- Can’t download apps / games developed for Samsung Galaxy S II I9100 in Samsung Apps / Android Market.
- Fonts in PAPAGO! very small.
- Not much custom firmware / modification
I9100
- Overheat easily, poor battery life on Android 2.3.3. Android 2.3.5 fixed it.
- Fully use 1.2 GHz CPU.
- Better 3D performance.
- Anti-Aliasing (4xAA and 16xAA) support with Chainfire3D Pro.
- Lot of custom firmware, kernel, modification, tweaks…

i didn't get this point really... i have the G-variant and i didn't see any problem when downloading any app or game to it... am not sure if the applications are actually developed for a special mobile version, mostly apps/games are developed for "Android" and not for a certain company such as samsung or HTC or any other and neither for any model like GT-i9000 , GT-i9100 or even GT-i9100G etc...
ICS for GT-I9100G in india is available now!!!

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S Plus I9001 no page here, why?

at www dot samsung dot com /es/consumer/mobile-phone/smartphones/android/GT-I9001HKDFOP
Sorry I cannot post links
This device has no page at XDA-DEVELOPERS and it will not have official ICS.
It is being sealed in Spain by Vodafone and it needs some work.
Thanks in advance.
It does have a page here.

Thanks
Thanks
But ... It has no phone picture and it is not listed at the database being at your link as a submodel of the SG S I9000 that it is not
Samsung must use other name system for their devices
But SG S+ I9001 is a total different hardware than SG S 9000
And a lot of "normal" users will brick their phones trying to put a SG S ICS on a SG S+ and as it is being sold a lot in Spain, Germany, Russia and China this Christmas season perhaps a SG S+ ICS will be later at the "mod market"
I think it would be a good idea to put this model at the database with its own different specs and thread.
I have read some complains about this matter.
And i think they have good reasons to ask their different space not for having a similar name is a similar - in hardware - phone. Perhaps the name is because is near in the market segment but is very different in hardware.

What? You couldn't tell the difference by just looking at them anyways. The only major differences in hardware are the graphics cards and processors (and of course chipset): http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3115&idPhone2=3908. It doesn't matter that it doesn't have it's "own" forum (at least it has one).
Please use the Q&A Forum for questions Thanks
Moving to Q&A
All equal outside but not inside Chipset, CPU and GPU
Chipset Hummingbird Qualcomm MSM8255T Snapdragon
CPU 1 GHz Cortex-A8 1.4 GHz Scorpion
GPU PowerVR SGX540 Adreno 205
Any phone with only one of this different parts will have other ICS rom - and of course different drivers and performance.
What you say is as if you have a desktop computer with the same monitor, keyboard, mice, webcam, hdd, case, but one is Intel+Nvidia and the other AMD+ATI, the inside is very important isn't it?

That's what I said - They have different cpu's, gpu's, and chipsets. They will never be separated, so there is no point debating.

Galaxy S2 LTE advantages over GS2 ?

Probably the worst section for this kind of question , but not sure where to post it anyway. My friend wants to buy a SGS2 LTE , so I was wondering , what are the real advantages of that phone over the international SGS2 ( if any ). From what I can see it has a bit of beefed up specs, the hardware is really nice and everything , but what use of it, if there isn't a single custom rom for it ? I mean, me , I couldn't live without HydrogenICS ( thank you Paradoxxx!!! )...
So... just your opinions ... state them... SGS2 LTE. worth it ? or not ?
The Galaxy S2 LTE has a larger 4.5 screen and a LTE radio for theoretical faster mobile network speeds. The Galaxy S2 (international) has a 1.2 ghz Exynos CPU and Mali-400 GPU which is a superior chipset then the S3 chipset found in the Galaxy S2 LTE even though it is clocked higher at 1.5ghz. This translates in a more faster and fluid experience and better performance in gaming. However the difference is usually negligible.

[Q] What GPU does the US version have?

I have read that it has the adreno 225. I have also read that this GPU benchmarks slower or near the GPU of the SGS2 and significantly slower than the international S3 versions Mali 400MP GPU. Can anyone help me confirm if this is correct and help me understand the real world implications? How much this affect the S3 performance of the US version. Thanks

Overall, I would say that the American variant of the Galaxy S III will run smoothly, but won't be quite as good for gaming as the International model.

Differences Between GT-9070 (s advance) and sII

Hi, recently bought and SII advance and i found that it has NO xda development section
they have a different chipset, but same processor and GPU and maybe modem?
is there a possibility to flash roms only doing some minor modification?
i'm waiting for a big NO, but who knows the power of xda wizards =p
The firmware for the s2 i9100 (Processore: Arm Cortex A9 Exynos 1.2ghz DUAL CORE ) ,are not compatible with s advance i9070 ( Processore:ARM Cortex-A9 dual core da 1GHz
Memoria:768MB di RAM ), there are hardware differences ,For you i 9070 can already have root permissions, but you have to wait to leave cooked rom , etc.
Bro u did a very big mistake.....ur phone is still new so sell it at soon as possible @higher price and buy gs2 i9100

Do not flash anything meant for Galaxy S2, on Your Phone (Galaxy S Advance).
You will only end up with a paper weight, if you do so.
You have been Warned!
