All I had found on xda was that MTD roms are "picky" about SD cards. That is true, but here is exactly what they are picky about:
Your MicroSD MUST, and I mean MUUUUST be at least a Class 6 speed card. Anything under that will cause this problem, and you won't be able to use it with the phone.
It took me hours of searching various sites to find the one post where someone explained this, I just thought it should be here.
In addition, a too slow SD card will also cause the "assert failed" message when trying to install a ROM from CWM.
Can someone sticky this info? Or put it in the guides or something? During my problems with this I found tons of people who were having the same issue, but nobody ever said "use a faster card". I feel like this is an important bit of info!
Thanks!
do you have proof? I ran every fascinate rom ever on a class 2 for about a year, I just got a class 8 like a month ago. that includes every gingerbread and ics rpm, miui, aokp, gummy, cm7, etc, all MTD stuff.

i explained this in my guide...maybe i accidently deleted it when updating. anyhow sage is right, some stock sd cards work fine with mtd while others dont. all we know is class 6 or higher sd cards never seem to have any issues.
Currently running with stock class 2 card that came with the phone, no problems ever. Ran pool party, vgb, and aokp with no issues. Listen to a ton of music every day that is stored on SD card. My guess would be that it is the people who flashed the old froyo comm roms which stated in op that SD cards can get fried who have the most problems.

Class 4 sandisk 16gb card works perfectly for me with geewiz or ics... i beleive the issue is the cwm when you run gingerbread mtd roms. When i try to flash cm7 from my card it always checks bml/mtd and then reboots into a loop because it can't mount the card. But no problems whatsoever when I'm running 4.0. Stock Samsung card never gave me issues. But i have no idea where mine ran off to

I take no responsibility if you mess up your phone.
In your opinion, would it be better to stick with the 3.42 version of the titan radio, or go with this 3.42 which has a slightly higher revision number from the vogue?
any sort of compatibility issues to worry about?
The radios work cross device. There's always a chance for side effects later on down the road as is the case for anything. I've been running this radio now since this afternoon and have seen no problems. In fact, I've personally seen an improvement. I'm not going to comment whether it's "better" than 3.42.02.
THANKS!
That was quick. I just flashed 3.42.02 last night and was dissapointed in the GPS not locking.
I now have this 3.42.30 flashed and GPS locks on quick!! And I also tried, live search, Google maps, and GPS Speed Sentry. All very fast locks!!
THANKS!
I've noticed a significant increase in GPS performance.
I know that gc has the new PRI, but does froader? Wonder if that has much effect compared to the radio itself.
I'll third that, GPS reception seems much better/quicker so far on 3.42.30 compared to 3.42.02.
kockroach, I'm on the 2.03_003 PRI version.
edit:
oh yeah, where are my manners? Thanks for the release GC!!
Oh for the love of..... I literally JUST finished reloading from scratch so I could get the 3.42.02 on my VZW xv6800. I don't have an SD card (whats wrong with me?) so I had to do the Sprint ROM and then lay DCD 3.2.0 over it.
I came to ask if others had GPS problems with 3.42.02 because GPS in the DCD 3.2.0 & 3.35 radio was working ok.... then I see this thread.
Damn you, gc14, damn you.
So is the SD card still the only way to do the radio without borking the whole thing? I should just go grab one tomorrow, I have no excuse for now having one.

I'm on VZW so my PRI means nothing. I noticed an improvement in GPS performance on VZW which says a lot.

Hehe yeah especially when Best Buy had a sale the other day for sandisk 1gb cards that comes with micro sd to sd adapter, micro sd to mini sd adapter, and sd to usb adapter all for $17.99.
all i care is that this radio fixes the nissan altima bluetooth for the navigation system owners.
Neither HTC or NISSAN take ownership of this fu%&*%ng mess.
6700 works fine but 6800 doesnt.
dammit i just cracked my 32mb transflash /microsd card.
It doesnt work anymore
Anyone have a mirror, rapidshare is acting up for me.
Try this:

Installing this now, thanks GC!
What do you expect to find in the installer when/if Slorizon Wireless updates the Titan? aGPS, drivers, etc?
i like it.
i cant tell if this thing working well is making me happy or the fact that i flashed with a microsd, which i have never been able to do before.
either way, gps seemed to work well from my apt window, will test again tomorow and report back.
cautiously optimistic.
thanks gc
Thanks the mirror worked.

+1 thank you for the mirror.. and for the radio release.
flashed from SD card no problem. no hard reset needed. can't say i notice anything too different, as it's only been about 10 minutes now.
everything seems to work, which is obviously a good sign.

you throw it in your PC and format as FAT32?
other than that i dont have any suggestions.. maybe its just TOO small a card. during the flash, maybe it needs to write back to the card for cache or something.. after format, that card is prolly only 13.9 or so, and this radio image is over 11.. might just not be enough room!

if you have done everything else right, make sure your battery is over 50%.
yeah i was thinking the exact thing nickles. im just gonna pick up a 512 tomorrah. thanks
edit: i couldve sworn it said it was formatted to fat32. i checked, and it wont format to fat32. the only option is just fat.
Hey, so right now I'm on CM7, not the most current build, but there's not much I can do until I wait for a new SD card (exactly for the reason that you think).
Anyway, I am having trouble with people hearing me on the other end of calls. They say i keep dropping out. Is there something I'm doing wrong, or would it be better to just go back to stock and try to get a replacement?
Turn off "Hi-fi record" in voodoo control app.
good day.
Where can I find that?
EDIT: Just downloaded the app- it was already off.

Also people sometimes have to call me twice before I get the call. Any solution to that?
Sent from my SCH-I500 using XDA App
Yes Try a Froyo Rom!
ComRom 2.1
or
Evil Fascination
after missing a call from my boss, i went back to a EF rom and I can hear calls, the proximity sensor works and i have no fear about loosing my SD card.
or try powerwashed ed05... all of the gb based roms have bugs and are randomly eating sd cards. Stick with froyo for now!!
You could also try a bluetooth headset. I've never had a compliant using it on AOSP.
Hi, i'm about to buy myself an Atrix (non-4G) in a week or so and i need to know couple of things first.
1) While searched for similar info i read that fingerprint reader (and couple of other sensors too) doesn't work on CM7, is that true?
2) In which stadium and how stable is CM7 on Atrix?
3) I read somewhere that ClockWork Recovery don't recognize Atrix's internal storage and that it needs an external storage, sdcard (which sucks) to operate, is that true?
4) Any other suggestion/advice i should be aware off?
Thanks a lot!

1. Fingerprint works with CM7 weekly 2 build.
2. Gillette Stadium rocks the Pats, CM7 is very stable on the Atrix.
3. Romracer's recognizes both internal and external.
4. Read, read, read..............then read some more!..............Start here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1154600
Yeah everything in the OP seems outdated. FP CM7 All work great only thing missing as of today that I'm aware of is webtop on cm7 but there are either ROMs that include this.
CM7 Newest Weekly @1.45ghz, thanks XDA Developers!!
A non-4g Atrix? I don't think there is such a thing.

Tell us which carrier or model your buying. All are "4g", such a finkle term. Its carrier based. Att gives me 4g/3g/3.5g at 500-800KB/s down and 260 up. Where others might be like T-Mobile in my area is 1100+. Maybe in your area or sellers area it might be only 200 so they might say non 4g?
Nah dudes, i'm buying it in Europe, far, far from USA carriers.
There are ATRIX and ATRIX 4G.
Comparison of those two.

Hey Devs,
Rooted my DX2 and installed Eclipse 1.3 and noticed that there still is the battery issue (which is no biggie) but i was wondering if anyone knew if there has been a fix for music playback and bluetooth connection. Music seems to still skip while playing on bluetooth in the car, and that drives me insane.
Didn't know if the leaked 2.3.5 has the fix included or not, an insight would be great.
Thanks

The bat was not fixed in the 2.3.5 update..... but I released a MOD in the dev section... read the sticky with all mods and roms for details... the music issue I have never had... What is the sd card class of your sd card? That may be an Issue.... but I have yet to get the "music jumping" issue that everyone has posted since day one..... But your the first to state anything about bluetooth connections for playback... No clue man. has to be your SD class .. or your running 30+ apps.
Im running a class 4 16gb card. came with my fascinate back in the day. I was wondering if that might be the issue both others said it wasn't. Im gonna try and find a cheap class 10 8gb cuz i use no where near 16.
thanks for the help though

I had the issue a little until I raised my SD rate in Rom Tool box. Do you think that had something to do with fixing it?
Do you have blue tooth headphones? I heard that over blue tooth the skipping was eliminated.
But at the very least on 2.3.5 with kernal 0007 the one before the latest its been far better then 2.3.4 on any rom with poweramp on high buffer.
On 2.3.5 its stable through headphones but the problem still exists.
I'd say get 2.3.5 newest ver, get v6 super charger update 8 and use setting 9. If you can find it v6 noop, set cpu and use a profile and set minimal to 400mhz or some where around that but not lower, and get sd speed boost. I use this config and over wired headphones i get 3-4 songs skip out of 105 on the playlist. Hopefully this will help decrease the chances of the skip.

I have the same sd card. Idk why your having the issue(as well as others). I used winamp and the "unreleased" google music app and have used just speakers, radio antenna(the one that broadcasts to a stereo) and headphones with 0 issues. Thats with my phone being on all day. I "wish" my phone would do this, just so I could help fix the problem, but I simply dont get it, and I have two droid x2s(one is dev phone). I heard that after class 10 you run into rewrite issues and it distorts the data so I'd watch out past 10.
Do you have your SD card speed increased? I can't remember the app, but Im sure all the ROMs(mine and all of ryans have it anyway) have the sd speed increased. Are you "multitasking" while there is music playback? If so, then try to see which app is causing the issue and when it starts to skip, check your RAM and see how much memory is being used prior to playback and while the skips occur.
ok so i put in a spare class 10 no avail...gonna try 2.3.5 with the kernel you have suggested.
When i flash it will the kernel be included or will it need to be added afterwards?
Guys, I have a moto g xt1033. I installed cm11 latest build with gapps and it was running fine, but was consuming too much power, so I decided to install a custom kernel. I tried phantom, xperience and Donkey Kong kernels, and all of them failed to load WiFi, otherwise, it's running very well. In the WiFi menu, it tells, "Turning on WiFi". I even tried clean wipes and installs. Can anyone help? I need a custom kernel for saving battery!
I'm practically on the same boat!
Hello fellow XDA users mods and admins. I've been in xda developers for some time now, since nrg's xperia
times, now on t-mo's samsung note 2 t889 still on 4.1.2 rom/firmware, main reason is tethering.
The rom I'm on is the JEDI Master 14, simply for best battery life of them all, the kernel is/was the
latest so far Perseus, now latest saber kernel. reason for that was that the Perseus kernel gave out
wakelocks due to a switch in 64gb microsd cards (from Sandisk to gskill) so to me it looks like the kernel
doesn't do well with other 64gb memory cards that's not sandisk though works fine with other 32gb cards
(Probably quality issues).
Now in the Saber Kernel the issue I'm having is that no matter what I try, in the trickster mod or
Swtweaks, the phone either SODs or freezes up until I pull out the battery. I tried going to the latest
Jedi rom but there were more issues with it than I can control, main one it was too slow on the graphics
side of it. it was a while back so I can't remember most of the issues I had, same goes for the X20 rom
they also had, so I'm pretty stuck with the Jedi Master 14 mainly for stability.
Being that most chefs don't want anybody mirroring their links or at least make a list of all their
previous roms/kernels in any part of the forums, (I've looked for months on end before asking mind you all),
My question (and request) if it's possible for anyone out there to direct me (or P.M me if possible)
or tell me if there's a kernel that works best (of what y'all experienced) for any 4.1.2 roms that I can aquire?
I used all the methods that I know in xda and other sites in finding my answer but I also know for
certain that many devs cooks and users moved on to new terrain, but being that many people also had issues with 4.3 and 4.4 roms on some devices,
I decided to stick with the note 2 running on 4.1.2 rom simply because I can still write to all of you without t'mobile being on my back about tethering limits.
Thank you All!!
Just an update, I just fixed the issue I had with the current problem I had, seems it was a bad sdcard that kept on restarting my phone, I got a new one, formatted it, moved
the files to the new card (making sure there are as few underscores as possible on some file names because it served as a wildcard for the wakelock from what I read from other forums), and went back to the perseus kernel because saber kernel was still giving me SODs. I haven't seen a wakelock or a SOD since, and still have 94% from 100% after moderate use in 1 hour, and around 82% in under 3 hours doing the same. Also from 100% to 90% in 2 hours with just wifi tethering.
