CF Root Version: CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEN_LP7-v5.4-CWM5
Link Chainfire Kernel
Phone Information
Code:
[B]Model: GT-9100
Build: FoxHound 4.0.4 IMM76I
Kernel: [email protected]#13
Smallband version: I9100XXLPS
Android Version: 4.0.4.

If you need more just ask..
In short
- I flashed my stock LP7 firmware phone to a Rooted LP7 Firmware version
| CF-Root-SGS2_XW_XEN_LP7-v5.4-CWM5
Couldn't mount SD in Recovery
However
sd does get regonized by my phone (root explorer browsing)
Problem only occurs at clock work recovery
Still able to flash updates or roms via CMW app of chainfire
I don't see how the "phone information" you provided corresponds to what you said you did:

Input ur ext sd into pc
Backup important files and perform format.
Insert into phone and try again.
There has been rare cases of external sd corruption during factory wipes or rom/kernel installation through cwm/odin.
This methods worked for a few members in the past with problems accessing their ext sd cards.
Cheers.
Editreply lol u have posted in the paranoid thread that u have the same problem as the guy who is having trouble accessing his external sd...
If its ur internal sd, Try clean install of stock rom through odin.
Edit2: btw u should clean up ur posts in the paranoid thread so that people dont get confused. You and the other guys problems is a completely different one. Also the error u are facing is not an emmc error, as /emmc is ur EXternal sd unless u changed mountpoints but u dont have an external lol,. u should also learn to thank people who try to help, it doesnt kill.

Did you also flashed a CF root kernel? and ughh well it's kinda hard to go back to stock and put a flashable ZIP on your phone, boot in recovery. 'cause stock doesn't allow flashes.
So help me out here
1) Stock
2) Flash via Odin
3) Custom Kernel is already on
So how can you do it without odin and stock?

try with this link SII guide here or here
As already suggested by others you should return to stock. With the firmware you have this would be (according to sammobile):
PDA: I9100XWLP7
CSC: I9100VIALP2
Version: 4.0.3
Date: 2012-04-06
Regions: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom
As you are rooted and don't want to use Odi you could use MobileOdin.

Hello all,
I have a samsung galaxy s2 with this kernel:
kernel: i9100BOKF3-CK255512
baseband: i9100BOKF1
buildnumber: GINGERBREAD.BOKF3
What unsecured kernel do i need to make it root. And that i just can go back to the original kernel and rom.
I have found the stock kernel and rom here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1113928
T-Mobile nl:
BOKF3: http://www.multiupload.com/OZ86729BU5
Firmware info: PDA:BOKF3|PHONE:BOKF1|CSC:TNLKF1
BOKF3 Stock Kernel: http://www.multiupload.com/V8JVBGVZ3N
Password: [email protected]
i have found this on a other thread:
Creating Optus Backup:
1. Go to Download Mode and Install CF-Root KE2 Root using Odin
This will install Clockwork Recovery for you.
2. Phone will reboot with root already (no need for SOC)
3. Run CWM Manager (from app tray)
4. Choose Backup
You will then have a nandroid backup located in the internal SD (\clockworkmod\). However, the backup will contain CWM and Root. But that's okay. Read on to find more about restoring to a clean Optus ROM.
To Restore to Clean Optus ROM:
1. Go to Download Mode and Install a stock unbranded ROM (KE7 or KE2) using Odin
2. Go to Download Mode and Install CF-Root KE7 or KE2
3. Run CWM Manager and restore Optus backup (phone will reboot)
4. Install Root Explorer (download from Market or keep a copy handy in internal SD)
5. Remove CWM Manager from \system\app
6. Go to Download Mode and install Odia KE2 Insecure
7. Run Superoneclick to ROOT (you can usually skip this step and go to step 8)
8. Run Superoneclick to Unroot (if step 8 fails, do step 7 first)
9. Install stock KE2 Kernel from XDA
You will have an unrooted Optus ROM but still contains your data.
10. Do a Factory Reset from OS or from Recovery (Power + Vol UP + Home)
You will have a clean Optus ROM but you also need to format your internal SD as well.
Also, in addition to that, you may need to use that thing-a-ma-JIG from eBay to reset the download counter. I personally haven't tried resetting it as it hasnt arrived yet.
I was going to upload a relatively clean nandroid copy of Optus ROM but... while I was factory resetting after going back to KE7 stock, I accidentally formatted the internal SD... <damn!>
So, if anyone is willing to share their nandroid backup of Optus ROM, please let us know so we can possibly upload it somewhere. This is also useful to extract Optus My Account app because its 1.2 (compared to the one in Galaxy S which was 1.0).
Please let me know if the above trick doesn't completely remove root.
so iff i am right you only need the last three numbers like kf3
I have found a Chainfire kernel with the same last three numbers see below:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=640677&d=1309348522
This is the thread where the kernel came from:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399
I hope that someone can help me with the right kernel.
yes you are right in you only need a chainfire kf3 kernel to root, it does not effect any other thing in the tmobile rom.
Only reason you need the stock kernal is to remove the yellow triangle.

Yes thats the right cf-root kernel and stock kernel, you will still have root but lose CWM and CWM manager app.
this should be your stock firmware, taken from the thread you linked, though you might want to check the "baseband" on your phone to see if you have the PHONE:BOKD1 or PHONE:BOKF1, and chose the right one from the thread
What is CWM ? and CWM manager app is the same as rom manager right?
i have rooted my htc desire HD, so i know all the costum roms how to flash it. but the rooting process is different. iff i understand it right rom manager dont work with chanefire kernels right?

also do u know why it doesnt read any of the zip roms on my sdcard?
No, it won't make a massive amount of difference if you flash firmware for another country. What country are you in/what telco do you use ?
No. No idea why CW Recovery can't read any of the roms on your SD card. Sounds like CW Recovery might be broken.
well im from australia with Vodaphone
well i could run the zips just fine before i flashed my phone but after i flashed it, it cant read anyfiles i even tried another sd card same result
I'm with Vodafone as well. Download/flash KJ1.
As I said, something obviously isn't working if it can see any files on the SD card. Flash the stock firmware & we'll go from there.

Kernal is part of PDA file does not require a separate kernel flash .
jje
um what does that mean, do i ignore it when flashing with odin, i just put the big 500mb file in the PDA section and pressed start i didnt use the 5 mb files
god it didnt work i flashed it with GT-I9100T_VAU_I9100TDUKJ1_I9100TVAUKJ1_I9100TDUKJ1.TAR.md5
and it stuck at the loading S screen then goes to the vodafone screen back and forth??
are you sure your backups are not just on your internal sd and not external?
i managed to install it, but now i cant root, i folowed the rooting guide exactly and succefully flashed the kernal with odin but it says i havent rooted yet
hi there
my USB port is broken
i want to root my phone via sd card, it is possible ?
iam on orange UK 2.3.3 BVKG3
i just need to root it
cheers
If you first update to ICS somehow (OTA?), yes.
Although i seen something similar to that (flash a .zip file using stock recovery to gain root) i haven't seen someone around s2 forum make a .zip like that. I have seen low end devices gain root by flashing .zip files through stock recovery like Galaxy Ace, Optimus Me and Galaxy Y.

Doesn't Mobile Odin require root in the first place to run? His phone is currently unrooted, unless that status has changed.

I do have a theory... but it will involve you upgrading to ICS while you're at it. You'll also have to wipe your device, which will remove all your apps/contacts/etc, but should leave all your pictures/movies/music/etc. I am not sure if it will work or not, as I haven't actually tried it myself.
You'll need an external SD card for this.
- Download CWM Recovery for the Galaxy S2 from the ClockworkMod website and put in on your external SD card.
- Download one of wanam's stock ICS ROMs that are CWM flashable from his thread and put it on your external SD card.
- reboot to recovery
- do a full wipe (data/factory reset)
- choose "apply update from external storage"
- find and select the recovery image downloaded in the first step, and wait for CWM recovery to appear
- choose "install from sdcard"
- find and select the ROM you downloaded in the second step
Once this last step is done, I believe you'll need to reboot. The advantage of this is though all the ROMs in wanam's thread are all stock, they are ALSO rooted. So you'll both upgrade to ICS and root your device simultaneously.
Again, this is a theory, but I don't see why this wouldn't work. (of course, someone please point out anything I didn't think of that would prevent this from working the way I envisioned it)
not working for me nothing, as CWM zip file cannot be instaled from stock recovery
there is signature problem
i already downloaded touch version too without luck

Well, it was only a theory. Sorry.
So basically i broke my phone and i need help so bad. The wall of text below is what i did. I have a Galaxy S2 GT-I900P and its rooted.Thank you in advance.
So yeah, i tried to install Miui, everything was good except that i didnt have clockwork recovery but i still had the same choices so i thought it doesnt matter. When i got to the part when i have to choose the Adyscorpius file, i went into the wrong directory (i went to sdcard instead of Internal sdcard(where i actually saved the file)). I tried to reboot but i got stuck on the screen with yellow triangle. So i found avideo and did what he did but it didnt work, instead i got a blue screen when i flashed the file. After all the mess that i have done, i finally found the file but it didnt work, i even started all over again but it says "assert failed: getprop blah blah blah...... Installation aborted."

these are the videos that i followed
*Edit* what i did on CWM-based recovery v5.0.2.7

just adding more info that might help

It seems you have access to one CWM recovery, either a temporary one, or a permanent one.
The reason why you are probably getting getprop stuff is because you are using an early bugged version of CWM recovery version 6.x
If you can flash latest version of Siyah kernel or any custom ROM, that error should disappear.

American region will work just fine, so far the firmware is compatible with your phone. At worst you have bad signals, you will just flash another modem.
Flashing another modem shouldn't be important here, because after flashing this firmware, I'll guide you on installing your Miui ROM at once.
I am a newbie from Nepal. I dont have much knowledge of flashing. A week ago i tried to flash CMW recover while i was in resurrection remix JB rom. Till then i am not able to start my phone because it freezes at "Samsung Galaxy S2" logo... Now i dont know the CSC, PDA and kernel version of my mobile. So please help me solve my problem, how can i make it work?
Boot into recovery (Turn phone off. Then hold home/power/volume up) & do a wipe/factory reset. Or if you have a recent backup (or any backup) restore that from recovery. I've done this a couple of times over the past few mths when my phone has spontaneously bootlooped.
didnt help

Sorry i cant access my external sd card in CWM recovery and i dont know how to access internal memory of my phone since it can only boot into recovery and download mode...
In that case flash any stock rom you like. I gather you'll be going back to a custom rom pretty quickly in any case (?) so it doesn't matter. Whatever you do tho, do not flash a PIT.

All I can do is download a rom which is in zip format, but i know odin does not support .zip but it supports .tar, so how can i download rom in .tar, also does it matter if I flashed the rom which is not meant for my region?(I mean I dont know my phone's PDA and I am not able to decide which firmware to download since every firmware has its own specific PDA)... Yes, I'll be going back again to custom rom after I make it work...haha
AFAIK a rom for another country wont break your phone, but be careful with 4.0.4 roms because of the brickbug

go to http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3 and choose the stock or even another stock rom you wish, download it.
Boot into download mode and flash the single .tar file through odin, flashing instructions can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1075278
PD: if the downloaded file is .zip and not .tar, just extract the zip and u'll get the .tar

Amm, now i have a android 4.0.4 firmware in odin supported format.. and i am about to flash using odin.. but i got confused what did you mean by "but be careful with 4.0.4 roms because of the brickbug".. Please explain me... And thankx in advance..
He means don't do a wipe/factory reset from recovery while you're running that kernel. Once you switch to a custom kernel you can relax tho.

Parameter is incorrect error can be caused by either of two reasons
1 . something is wrong with the file you downloaded try re downloading
2.Kies is interfering with Odin, terminate Kies from the background by using the task manager.
Using GT - I9100
Just hit the damn help button if I helped you.
A lot of Thankx..
