Text to Speech Apps are generally good... so are apps such as Iris and Vlingo TTS. Try them, and see what you like!
Nice to see a first post here on XDA-Developers!

Hello all,
I am finally back after being on apple after 9 months and it feels great. I had a question about if there is a root avaiable for the galaxy s3. I havent rooted any devices in months and trying to get back into the groove to it again. Just wondering does anyone recommend a link that can answer all FAQ's about the phone? Thanks in advance. Also is there any recommendations on apps , ROM's , etc?

You're using a Sprint GS3, different model/hardware.
Flashing anything firmware related from this forum will probably brick your ****.
Check here for more infos before you wreck your brand new gs3.

I just had a few buds that had no idea of the joys of rooted androids. I know some guys do it online or stores close by do the same for too much money. I personally went to qbking77's corner and figured out basic development and flashing by trial and error. I would do it for them but then they can't update the rom without me and the liability if they get mad about something. Anyway my question is what is the best way to help these greenhorns see the world they didn't know existed.

Hey all.
I know this is a bit of a stupid question i guess, but i am not very knowledgable with roots/stocks or any other term you use. But ill ask anyway,
I am considering messing around with my S3, i am thinking about seeing if i can install a clean as google intended Jelly bean OS. Is this possible? What is the best and simplest way, and what is the risk percentage? What are the cons to such a move? And lastly is it easy to revert back to normal if i dont like it or send phone back to network for fixing at any point?
I know its quite a lot to ask. But i appreciate any help i can get.
Regards,
Barry.

Mate you should read the rules

Go to the Q&A forum and read the "Must do info guide for beginners."
Barry, try CM10 or AOKP.
Better ask in Q&A next time.

I would recommend that you check out either of the roms below. I reckon that these will currently give you the closest stock android jellybean that you are after. Just get your s3 rooted and add clockwork mod recovery then wipe and flash the rom zips and gapps.

The point of their posts was to point out your mistake.
It really doesn't take much leg work on your part to answer your own question without creating this thread....
Good luck modding your s 3.
With so many different options and considering this is my first venture into messing with my s3 i thought id ask to be sure.
Thanks for making feel so welcome and empowering me and giving me confidence to ask questions when i am unsure about things. *sarcasm*

The issue was that you asked a question in the Development forum and not the Q&A forum. We run a tight ship around here. Moved your thread to correct forum.
As others have said, CM 10 is your best bet.

How long have you been reading the forum? If you have been here for any length of time you will see the same questions being asked time and time again by people that don't put any effort into finding out how to solve it themselves.
Feel free to ask questions about things, but do your research first, your question showed that you didn't do this, hence the response you got.
Putting it in the wrong forum didn't help either.
Hi guys, Ive been using cm9.1 for some time, but days ago I compared my battery life with a friends phone who's using stock samsung 4.03 and realised he had like 5 or 6 more hours. It would be great if you people could tell me which good roms considering battery life. Thank you very much!

He didn´t ask wich is the best rom, just asked for advice.
I advice you the latest samsung roms from samfirmware stock rom, use the proper rom for your carrier or area.
And search one of the great kernels that you have from our great developers here and you will be happy.
Thats what i wanned to know thank you!

If your comparing your phone with your friends, you would have to be doing exactly the same things/have the same settings/apps running etc.
Then if there was a 6 hour difference a conclusion could be drawn.

Why not using the stock?
Stock rom has best battery life

Best rom, advice on choosing rom etc etc its the same bloody thing and simply NOT allowed for many reasons but mostly been that is just clones other threads that are also opinionated. There is no need for threads like this you should be trying roms yourself and seeing what works bets for you, not creating topics that already exist to ask and answer the same stupid questions over and over.

I think you need to close the half of the threads in xda. Look friend he is a junior member. Don t be so angry about this. He put the things correctly. Thats why sometimes we loose good people in xda. I ve devloped a rom a timw ago and some guys like you with some tone like you lead me to close my account in xda. And I was on the wright way developing roms for xperia devices. So be gentil and don t scarw newbees. Its not needed. Greetings

No, people who don't read sticky topics or use search before creating topics is whats needed as they just add to the flood.
I recommend you search, read and try them out to make that decision. Locked
