Unlocked bootloader - Motorola Photon 4G

Quick question.. After rooting and unlocking the photon bootloader and flashing roms I sbfed back to stock ... Yesterday I decided to root and go back and try some flashing again.. I rooted and flashed the 1mb sbf and when my phone started to reboot it said it was unlocked. :what:
I thought when you flash the sbf back to stock unroot that it locks the bootloader and you have to flash the OEM unlock method again... Well anyway I'm rooted unlocked and running Miui 2.6.1 aroma rom without having to go through the flash OEM unlock process, just flashed the 1meg sbf.. Is this right

No you only OEM Unlock once. After that all you need to unlock is flash the pudding unlocker (the 1mb sbf).

[Q] Does the bootloader remain unlocked after restoring to stock?

If I flash back to the stock firmware using the motorola sbf files, will my bootloader remain unlocked? I flashed back and flashed the unlocking sbf file. When my phone booted up it said unlocked, even though I didn't run the fastboot commands. I then ran the fastboot commands anyway and it said the bootloader was already unlocked. So will the unlocked bootloader always remain unlocked?
No. It's locked again

it stays unlocked... despite what ^^^ said >.>
but it wont show until you just flash the pudding sbf like you did
P.S. no known way to re-lock as of yet

Ok, thanks. I wasn't planning on relocking, I was just curious. So next time I won't even have to flash the sbf? The sbf just makes the unlocking text show up when it boots up, but it should still allow me to do stuff like install the new CWM recovery without that, right?
Another thing, when I flashed that sbf, I didn't go into RSD mode. I was in a hurry and I forgot so I just ran the RSD program, and it detected my phone, so I clicked start. I realized later that I hadn't booted up into RSD mode...
Should I be worried? Was the RSD mode just an unnecessary precaution?
You can't relock..............it's a hardware unlock (fuse lock). When you unlock a fuse burns out, and that's end of story.
If you flash back to a different firmware the word "unlocked" will go away, but you are still unlocked. You can unlock again to make the word "unlocked" reappear on the boot screen.
EU sbf on AT&T possible?
I am going to use an unlocked AT&T Atrix in Europe.
I am on 1.83 firmware with root (made with gingerbreak to get rid of AT&T boot animation etc.).
If I go on with unlocking the bootloader, can I flash any european sbf/rom? Are there any simfree european tock sbf/rom-s out there, and which is best? What about the french 2.1.1 sbf?
I just need a stable stock firmware without the AT&T limitations, do not want changing roms all the time.
Also, do I get sw updates if I do this?

[Q] Does Bell Gingerbread has unlocked bootoader?

I installed the Bell Gingerbread OTA update and not I have the Fastboot menu on the phone boot.
It does not say that the phone is unlocked.
Do I have an unlocked bootloader? Do I need to do something else to get it unlocked (IHOP?)? Is there a guide for it?
If there isn't unlocked on the startup, the bootloader doesn't unlocked.
Guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136261
The Gingerbread update only gives you "Gingerbread". You still need to manually use IHOP to unlock the Bootloader...

[Q] SOLVED - CWM won't boot into recovery

Need some help please.
I have Telstra Atrix with ota gingerbread, unlocked BL, rooted.
I can't get it to boot into cwm recovery.
I installed ROM Manager from market, flashed CWM 2.0.2.0 , selected Reboot into Recovery but it only gets to the triangle. From there I can hold down Vol Up+VolDown and get to Basic Android recovery.
I have deleted the racing car app as suggested in one thread to make room, but no help.
If I power off and boot it from Power+Vol Down it comes up "Failed to boot 2"
Can't find a solution in XDA or Google. Any help appreciated.
See if you can fastboot flash a recovery image

Most likely need to delete "install-recovery.sh" @ /system/etc, if it's there, then try re-installing CWM Recovery, and see if that works.
Thanks fellas.
Turns out I had lost my unlock BL by flashing the Telstra Froyo sbf from the xda Atrix Firmwares Superthread.
Reflashed the pudding and it's unlocked again. Actually romracer explained it better in his thread. I thought you couldn't relock bootloader. CWM recovery works now.

U can't actually relock the boot loader, it "Burns a fuse" inside the unit when u unlock. But flashing an .sbf makes it appear as if it's locked again.

Yeah thanks. Romracer explained it to me. It doesn't seem to be common knowledge at all. So people flashing sbf's of stock roms are effectively losing root. I spent hours trying to figure it out and get info searching and asking questions. Anyway, all good now and I appreciate the assistance.
On another point do you know how I can get the Telstra radio so I can use it with custom roms? My phone use is way better since installing Telstra stock Gingerbread ota. If I flash another rom I'll lose it won't I? It is N_01.100.00R
Edit: thanks to @Msd24200 and @marko! for pointing out that Radio remains unchanged when flashing cm7. Also discovered where to get the zip of this radio if I lose it http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15787709&postcount=1

Re-Locking Bootloader?

I'm rooted @198_6...Locked
From my understanding you have to first unlock bootloader... to install CWM
And you need CWM to install ROMS..-only 2 so far...and what two ROM work on Lock bootloaders?
RE-Lock bootloader via Pudding remover or SBR lastest build...to retain 4g
Install bootstap recovery
Install Upadtes t ROM thru BOOTstrap
when you relocl bootloader ...will that remove CWM?
Thanks
If you flash a SBF, it will restore you back to a stock android recovery, aka you wont have CWM. And you could run Jokers Skinny4g rom, i think there may be another P-Rom or two but i couldnt say for sure. I'm personally running CM7 overclocked at 1.4 and i love it every bit. If 4g is a must have for you then you may want to look at just P-Roms, or relocking to maintain 4g. And yes, you have to unlock bootloader, then install CWM, and then your ready to flash away with roms/kernels/etc.
Thanks ....still learning about this phone.

no way of keeping the phone rooted and locking the bootloader?

After flashing this file 'Xperia_U_ST25i_Relock_Bootloader.ftf' to my Xperia_U, the phone won't boot again
I had to flash again with 'ST25i_6.0.B.3.184_O2-CZ.ftf' in order to get the phone working gain
This also made me lose Root, so I had to reflash again with 'Xperia_U_ST25i-ROOT-ROM.img'
(and unlocking again with fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xkey)
so, it seems there's no way of keeping the phone rooted and locking the bootloader
(I want to lock the bootloader locked in order to get updated to 184 though PC-Companion)

I own an Xperia S, I flashed a custom kernel to root then flashed back the stock kernel and locked the bootloader again, the phone works perfect and kept the root!

Too keep your phone rooted you need to keep its bootloader unlocked and if you try locking it again you might brick it!!
So if you want to keep your root and bootloader locked then here's what you should do
1)Unlock bootloader
2)Flash a custom kernel which roots your phone
3)Flash with stock rom
Note : if still not rooted then untick the option in flastool to skip flashing kernel when flashing with stock rom!!
Pls correct me if m wrong!!

Thanks, so now I need confirmation from an Xperia_U owner..
Anyone flashed Xperia_U_ST25i_Relock_Bootloader.ftf' and the phone kept working?
.
What I want to keep is:
---------------------------------
Kernel: Xperia_SSpeed_kernel_v6.1.zip
ROM: KA03_Xperia_SSpeed.zip
Then, lock bootloader again, withOUT losing ROOT
and then update to 1.84 (via Companion)

You cannot update via pcc even with Locked BL if you have custom rom or kernel.
