[Q] Cannot enter recovery mode - Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime

After installing .21 when I try to enter recovery mode I get this error. My device is unlocked and not rooted.

And the recovery you flashed was?

I get the same error on my prime. I was on .21 and followed the downgrade to .15 unlock and root procedure. The recovery installed is TWRP
Any help please

Try to flash cwm touch, if that worked then flash twrp with it
Sent from my sgs2 running cm9

I've flashed latest cwm through Rom manager and I still get the same error

Try fastboot. A few months back I unlocked too and I flashed normal cwm and I had the same problem. I fixed it by flashing cwm touch. You could also flash any custom kernel with fastboot.

I downgraded to .15 and flashed CMW again and it worked!!

Cant get into recovery mode
My tf-201 is rooted and unlocked. I cannot get into recovery mode.
I have tried holding the power and volume down button to no avail. I have tried, ROM manager as well as goo manager and it only leads me to the dead droid on his back. I dont know what else to try. I have spent the days looking for answers on the web as well as here and am needing some help please.

'adb reboot recovery' ?
On the device?
'su'
'reboot recovery'
Not sure if these wont mess stuff up (recovery bootloop) on the prime. Works fine on my nexus and on my prime, but my prime isnt unlocked.
Last resort: reflash recovery with fastboot

Thank you for your response. I tried su and recovery reboot. It did just a basic reboot. I have also tried fastboot pro to no avail. Doesnt seem to matter what I try, all i can do is a basic reboot. no recovery extremely frustrating.

You may have done this correctly, but just in case.....
Volume down + power
Until you see the three lines of text
Immediately release both buttons and press Volume up

Yup, tried it several times. Problem is I never get the three lines of text. Thanks though.

I cant believe I'm the only person to experience this. Any help is appreciated.

Reflash recovery through fastboot
Sent from my i9250

I was having the same problem with not being able to boot to recovery, if you are still having the issue this is what fixed it for me-- re-flash ClockworkMod Recovery to the non-touch version (v5.8.2.0) and then do the boot:
Volume down + power
Until you see the three lines of text
Immediately release both buttons and press Volume up
Good luck.

Power down completely and take the battery out. Put it back in. While holding the volume down button down, press the power button to turn the phone on and boot into boot loader. Go down to the recovery option by using the volume keys to navigate and the power button to select. If it reboots to your recovery, awesome. That's how you should do it from now on.
If not, I suggest downloading and using 4EXT recovery. It costs money, but not that much, and if you know where to look on the internet you can find it for free. It is the best recovery out there and worth the money. Once installed there should be no problem rebooting into recovery while the phone is on and running or getting to it through the boot loader.
I've tried the power + volume down thing, and it didn't work. I will see if I can flash that recovery. Thanks.

The recovery is probably corrupted. I recommend you download 4ext. It's (In my honest opinion) a pretty good recovery

[Q] Stuck on bootloop.. Can´t enter recovery

So.. I was using my phone normally .. but suddenly my phone went very very slow and then I turned off... I was running Unnamed rom.
But here is the deal , the phone didnt woke up! I mean , The phone got stucked into a boot loop , So I treid to enter into recovery with no luck!... Then I managed to go into download mode without any problem.
So after that I restored the phone to stock (One click root odin) . BUT the phone is still showing the Galaxy S Screen Boot loop.
HELP!
I´ve tried many things.. 2 Laptops and PC´s , ports , etc.. I also removed the sim card and the micro sd , but that didnt do anything.
So , any suggestion?
PS: Sorry 4 my english
I'm going to assume that you flashed UCKH7, either the stock without root, or the stock with root one click downloader. If you flashed something different than one of these, let me know.
Since you flashed the stock package successfully, you should now be able to get into 3e recovery by holding vol+ vol- and power buttons. Once in 3e recovery, you should do a wipe data/factory reset and your phone should then boot normally.
If you are unable to get into 3e recovery, then there is some sort of unusual problem, so post back here and we'll try to find out what it is.

If you can't get into recovery using the three button technique then there is something seriously wrong with your phone.

Yes... I'm thinking possible hardware issue. But since you can still get download mode, I'd try flashing the full stock package which you can get from the Download Repository. The one you already flashed did not contain the bootloaders and other stuff. If that doesn't clear it up, then I'm thinking repair or replace.
Noob question.. Where I can find the download repository?
thanks

Save yourself some trouble and go directly to twrp. You will have less issues when you go to recover.

Go here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1615990 follow the fastboot flash method you should be fine. This should have been posted in Q &A for next time.....
Since you did not unlock it before installing CMW it probably didnt even flash.
Would explain why you cant get in.
As people said use TWRP version 2.2.0.0 (for the newer version you first need the nvflash bootloader) instead. Its better on the prime then CMW.
You can install it via fast boot which is in the android sdk.
PS: CMW backup does not work, the developer doesn't seem to care.
He is probably not holding the volume down key while holding the power key then waiting for the message that says push volume up key to boot into recovery.
You can't boot directly into recovery as far as I'm aware.
The above post didn't explain that very well.

Twrp is better.... if you go the nvflash path.... it is worth it.... just for the peace of mind.

[Q] Can't boot into TWRP

Hi everyone,
I'm having a hard time booting into TWRP after a full shutdown of my phone. If I restart the phone and hold the volume up button, everything works fine, but if I go from a fully powered off state and hold the home, power and volume up buttons I will see the blue text show up at the top that the recovery is booting, then the screen will just go black and not do anything for a few seconds before vibrating and doing a normal reboot.
I rooted and installed TWRP using bhp090808's tool here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2301720
I'm am currently still using the stock ROM and I want to get this worked out before I flash a custom.
Thanks.
When rebooting into recovery manually, hold the volume up, home and power buttons. When the phone vibrates, release the power button while continuing to hold the home and volume up buttons. That's the correct manual way to get into recovery.

Having the same issue. Not sure how to resolve, I know with GS3 you can flash recovery VIA ODIN but I obviously didn't want do do the GS3 Clockwork Mod recovery, worried that it may cause more damage.
Holding VOL UP + PWR from a cold boot doesn't work. Black Screen then Reboots again.
I would suggest following this post if you had the same issue.
It will revert you back to stock and you have to root your phone again, it will go back to a usable state, if you are in a soft brick scenario.
Having the same issue. I use different apk's to enter into recovery mode. Or - connect to computer and reboot via adb reboot recovery.

You actually don't need to hold the Home button, works with just volume up and power.
have CWM recovery and can't switch to TWRP
I installed initially installed CWM recovery when I rooted the phone. I then installed TWRP (I thought so anyway) using goo manager and when I boot into recovery mode I still get CWM recovery. Any suggestions as to what I can do to get TWRP to work? I am currently running the CM 10.1 rom.

2.5.0.2 might be the build that I should be using with my phone. Presently I have constant issues with 2.6.0, either the phone getting stuck @ the team win logo causing me to have to battery pull.. Or just rom's not booting.
Hopefully someone has a download link of 2.5.0.2 out there, I'm unable to locate it anywhere. And hopefully it wont break anything if I downgrade.

Just an FYI...
I'm not using 2.6.0 any longer either but just for those that don't know.
When your phone hangs on the TWRP screen you don't have to pull the battery, you can reboot recovery by holding the volume up and power button at the same time.
Works for me anyway.

Have you tried a battery pull and booting into download mode? (vol down+home+power)? Then, volume up to confirm.
Once in download mode, you can use odin to install your custom (or stock) recovery.
Also, if you want your phone to boot, try the battery pull, start the boot into download mode, but cancel with a volume down.

Had to mess with it for a while , it would not come out of the loop or go into download mode either. After leaving the battery out for an hour or so i tried again finally got it into download mode , but odin would not see the phone, eventually it did but every time i tried to flash the tar of TWRP it would fail, i downloaded it more than once in case it was corrupt but it will always fail. i was using the last version of TWRP 2.8.3.0.
Downloaded another version of TWRP 2.8.0.0 and the first time i flashed it worked.
Thanks for asking sir.
