[Q] Xperia neo will not turn on, help needed - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hi, my girlfriends's xperia neo won't power on or charge, last night she was playing a game and the phone powered down because the battery died , she then plugged it in and in the morning it we found it wasn't turning on anymore. When we press the power button , the LED blinks red three times, this has happened before but when we left it alone, it started working.
We have tried taking the battery, SIM and MicroSD out, then plugging the cable in, waiting a while, putting the battery in and waiting another while (we saw this on a forum) sadly it didn't work (tried this with both the wall charger and charging from pc)
the phone is still under warranty and she doesnt want me to void it by flashing new FW
Can anyone help or should we send it back to sony for repair? I'd prefer to be able to fix it at home, (i have plenty of experience repairing software issues on various android phones)

What do you mean by the plug was switched on either?

What rom and kernel you're using?
Edit: ok,i see that your phone is unmodified,so, my advice is to send it back to Sony, for repairing.

Try charging with another mini-usb (all are compatible with Neo),and if doesn't charge,it means that it's a hardware failure.

Since the software it's unmodified,i don't think that it's a software related problem,but worth a try.

i had problems like that with my galaxy mini .. it was caused by bad usb cable... try to charge with another one... or the battery finally died... buy a new one

Does red LED blinks 3 times?
Does your PC says unknown device?
Send it to repair. You won't be able to fix it at home, unless you have SeTool box.

Phone bricked, cannot charge, need help ASAP

I need help with this NOW if anyone can. I figured I'd go ahead and make a thread for it so it would get seen. I was trying to update to 2.1 and something went wrong. Long story short the battery drained and now even when it's plugged into the wall all it does is flash its little red light. If I can get it to charge I think I can get things working again but as it stands I don't even know if it is charging. If I have it plugged into the wall and remove the battery the led turns green. If I put the batt back in afterwards it will go off after a bit and eventually "turn on" (in this case that just means that the screen comes on but is completely black but backlit) but there is no led indication at all so i don't know if it's charging or what. It doesn't seem to be. I really need help asap. Thanks in advance.
Silly question perhaps.. have you tried putting it into flash mode for SEUS (phone off hold back key, plug in USB cable)...?? does it register the phone?
Open pc companion hold back button and insert the micro Ian until it says stop it should then tell you your software is already the latest but if there's a problem you can use the repair option. Hth

Tried it just now, nothing.
My suggestion would be to plug it in for a few hours then try again. Or take battery out completely and try the back button without a battery. Might work. Might not. Sorry. Doubt the phone is bricked tho.

Just out of interest how long have you left it on the charge for? Because the red light flashes while charging until 10% and I remember once when my battery fully drained it did that for a few minutes until phone turned on again. Leave it for a while if you haven't done so.
The reason I ask is, incase you saw red light flashing and took it off charge straight away thinking its faulty? Like I said it sometimes takes a while to turn on fully when battery has died.
Edit: I know this is unhelpful, but that's why when you update via SEUS it says to ensure battery has 50%

I got he same problem 3 weeks ago. i could not get the phone to boot anymore even after trying all the unbrick method available here. so i sent it to sony ericsson service and they changed the motherboard.
okay, been charging for a while now and still have the red light. Pretty confident it isn't charging.
Plz try another usb cablr. I know about 20 people whoms usb cable accidently died and the phones cannot charge anymore ....

But the phone won't even boot. Will the battery charge while it's off? or when it's on a black screen? I know 2.1 lets it charge when it's off now, but the OP said the update screwed up.
Other suggestions that may take some time:
1. Find someone else who has an X10 and charge it in their phone.
2. Bring it to your phone provider and ask them to charge it.
3. Bring it to your phone provider and exchange the battery (temporarily?).
4. Buy an external wall charger (one that lets you charge the battery directly, not in the phone).
I ended up bypassing the phone and charging the battery directly via a macgyvered usb cable. Don't ask. lol. But I got it charged enough to use the se update tool and restore it back to the original rom. I'll try the update to 2.1 later after I get this thing charged all the way up. Thanks guys.

[Q] Xperia U won't charge unless powered off when plugged in to main

Hi,
I have an Xperia U which suffered a broken screen from something being dropped on the phone. I replaced the screen but since then I seem to get the following charging problem.
If the phone is ON, it will not charge from USB PC or Mains charger, despite the phoning showing a charging icon and reporting 'Charging' in the Battery parts of settings.
If the phone is OFF, it will charge. During this charging, if the phone is switched ON, the phone will continue to charge!.
Any ideas please?
Gavin

Basically, if the phone is on when the charger is connected, the phone shows that its charging but it doesn't charge, the battery continues to drain.
The phone only charges when switched off. Whilst it is charging I can switch it on and it continues charging.
I guess to summarise, if the phone is on when the charger is connected then the phone doesn't charge!!
Any ideas?
Gavin
Even i face the same problem

Wipe all data and re flash the firmware. If your bootloader is unlocked fastboot the kernel again too

no, this is not a solution; I`ve tried another charger, USB cable, battery, factory reset, flashed new firmware... problem persist... at service center told me thad USB connector have no problem, so is the chance that problem be in CPU?
I had this problem with the new 3.4 kernel on the XS you see. It was because I flashed and didn't fastboot the kernel. Thought it may be the same for you
When you flashed new firmware did you completely wipe the phone clean?

[Q] Big problem with x10a

Hi, I'm new at the forum and have read some threads about problems on x10.
My phone is a x10a, with Gingerbread version installed via Flashtool long ago, I bought the phone +/- 2 years ago.
Well, last night I installed 2 apps, 1 for wallpapers and the other one was Go Launcher.
Till that ok, everything running, but then I decided to restart my phone cuz it was on for several days. The problem started there, I couldn't turn it on again after I turned it off.
So today I searched a little for problems like these, tried to flash my device, but it turns the green light on for a few seconds then it goes off, and my device is disconnected from the Flashtool. Tried to charge my battery for like 30 minutes, tried taking out the microSD, tried turn on holding volume and power button together, tried turning on without the battery (connected to the charger), but still stuck.
If anybody pleeeease can help me I would be REALLY glad!!!
Thanks in advance
Well in some cases it works, so try to remove battery hold back button, plug your USB cable and insert the battery. It should connect in flashmode. Then flash official ROM and it should start. At least I hope so.

[Q] Battery not responding while plug in? Cannot turn on my phone now!!

Hi everyone. I bought my Xperia Z2 (Taiwan Ver.) in Hong Kong.
It was still OK yesterday and sometimes I charged it,
it didn't detect and it's not charging. This may be the problem of my power line because I changed the other one and it worked.
And I charged it with the problem one and it showed "Charging".
This morning I just couldn't turn on my phone. I tried many plugs, USB lines and it showed nothing. Then I used the dock to charge but it didn't work.
Please help! I don't think they will fix it for free......
These are the symptoms:
1. No response even trying Volume UP + Power button and many other combination for pressing at least 30 seconds each time
2. No response when connecting to PC
3. Plugged into the original charger and couldn't feel any heat from charger nor Z2
4. Tried the red button next to SIM card slot still not working
5. Charged it for a very very long time still no response
PLEASE HELP!
========FIXED========
1.Using mobile charger (5v ~ 2.5A) and remove SIM card and SD card if you have one
2.Plug mobile charger into Z2
3.Press Start button of the charger
4.Nearly the same time press the Power button of Z2 (with Volume Up I guess because I pressed it too)
5.Then Z2 may turn on the red LED light
Tips: I tried so many times, I guess the time of pressing charger and Z2 power button is important because I tried many times /.\ Hope you guys won;t get this problem. And I got this problem is because of drained battery, DON'T EVER LET THE BATTERY'S POWER BE LOWER THEN 10% IS THE SAFEST!
Leave it on charging for a while, its a normal issue when the battery completely depletes. Don't worry.
I'd suggest leaving it on charge all day, do check after 4-6 hours tho.

I don't understand why posting such a problem here on the forum.. would it be easier if you just use the warranty and go to any sony centre near by???!!
of course if you didn't void the warranty
no offence meant. but I see many people complaining even for a small things or complaining about things that can be easily fixed by warranty from Sony..
plus this phone is still not yet available everywhere. so many people don't know about it.. better just go to Sony center..
Good luck

Well I am going to the shop I bought this phone (Not official SONY shop or carrier as Z2 is not available in Hong Kong officially) and let them fix it. I don't know if they are going to send it hack to Taiwan to fit it or fix it themselves (Hope not)
And I post my question here because I think it is better to fix it myself because it takes time to take my phone to the shop and to wait it to get fixed. I am sorry for posting this stupid question and I still hope for another reply to solve my problem.

Happens to me aswell... It started about 2 months ago... I usually charged my phone with magnetic charger with longer, unofficial cable. But some time ago, it started to charge only to about 85% at this point, phone disconnect s/connects like if I unplugged it... Only thing that solves this is using original charger, original cable (magnetic or USB)... This is the only way I can charge it to full.
Thanx alot for replying but i use original usb charger it come with the device and the same problem

After you connect the magnetic charger upside down you fry one of the diodes on the mainboard.
Do as you want, your phone, your cash
isnt it repairable like the repair center will ask for theprice of a new phoen to fix it !!!
