Hi guys, like.my subject says I have a sensation 4g that used to run android GB and I used to transfer stuff wirelessly from and to my PC via Bluetooth, now that I upgraded to ICS I tryied to connect it again and doesn't work I even try to reinstall it in the pc, re-pair and nothing it says that my phone doesn't support that service/feature. Wtf?
Ice is supposed.to.add crap not to remove. I love being able to do that without fisically connecting my phone to the pc.
Ok so does any one knows if they are going though the same.thing? I looked around in settings and the options are not there anymore.
Does anyone knows how to enable this? Is there even a way to enable it?
Can anyone help? Cause I don't wanna be installing apps in order to.achieve this: example: by file transfer apps.
Thanks in advanced

I am trying to find the best way that I can easily access/stream files from my phone to my tablet.
So far I have tried:
- Bluetooth. Too slow
- Kies. Could not connect the devices together after repeated attempts
The phone has wifi direct, but the tablet does not seem to. What android apps offer the best seamless file sharing? I tried bump, did not like it. I suppose if I had the usb adapter I could connect the phone as a mass storage device, but I don't have the adapter yet and I'd like to keep it wireless anyhow.

Websharing is my favorite

Have you tried DropBox? It works great between the home computer, phone and tablet.
'swiFTP FTP Server' to create a local server. use 'andFTP' to connect to that server. both free in the android market
Is it possible to stream with andftp?
I can't see how in the free version but maybe pro does??

I'm a big fan of sugar sync, as you can see from my signature. Just like dropbox, but has more free space and no cap if you get more people referred
i tried it with Samba Filesharing. I was able to find my phone but wasnt able to connect to it. Did it while in Hotspot mode on my phone.

Hi all,
Is it possible to share my PC or Laptop's current internet connection with my Galaxy S 2? What I mean by that is I want to be able to plug in my phone to my laptop via usb, and use the PC's internet instead of using my 3G data.
This is separate to things like making the laptop or pc broadcast its connection via wifi, I'm only talking about sharing the connection via usb. Is it possible? Even if it means flashing a certain ROM?
That is a htc sense only feature afaik

That link is apparently only for Android 2.2, and it was written in 2010.
Is there no other way, no app or anything I can download to make this work? Surely the functionality is there...? Any particular ROM that can do this even?
I too am very interested in this feature. I actually asked the same question before:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1238358
But I got rubbished by some stuck up prick...
1 question , my couzin has an htc evo and he has wifi tether app , he is able to connect it to his ps3.
& i have the htc evo 3d duh.... Using wifi tether beta 6 and my ps3 detects it but it cant connect to my phone .
Am i doing something ? , we tryed putting the same settings also and nothing but he is using wireless_tether_2_0_5, i tryed installing the same version but nothing happened.
Any ideas of what can help?
At least once a week somebody asks.... Settings are device evo 3d, mms clamped check, htc router fix check. Make sure it's version 3 beta 6. Run it...then stop, reboot and you are good to go.
So just got the Evo the other day and love it! Coming from the Evo 4g its a big difference. Quick question though..
I'm at work and wanting to run the USB tether on my desktop (in a trailer and we don't have internet running in for another couple of weeks). I have all the drivers installed and the computer recognizes when I'm in mass storage mode or just charging, when when I switch to USB tether mode, my phone says "turning on" but nothing happens on the desktop in fact it disappears like its not connected.
Not sure what else to do here is there another driver that I need to install or what's going on?

I've never seemed to be able to use tethering that way on any device what I did was used WiFi tether (must be ics generic) or use a tethering app from the market all u need to do is install there client to ur computer and connect. U can download the client onto ur phone and then transfer to ur pc that's how i do it when I restore my pc so I can update my WiFi drivers

I need a way to transfer large files, 700mb+, from my hox+ to my Iconia. Problem is I'm on cellular data, so something like Wi-Fi file transfer would be out of the question. I tried using Bluetooth file transfer, but it takes ages, and always fails anyway. My hox+ is rooted but the Iconia isn't, and it's running android 3.2 if that's at all relevant. thanks in advance ladies/gents.
Do you have a computer.
I have a two, but this phone is completely incapable of connecting to either via usb. neither computer even acknowledges my phone is connected to it.

I have had issues with this coming from a HTC Desire and found the only way to get my PC to see the phone correctly is to turn on USB Debugging on and the moment I connect the phone to the PC I have to unlock the screen otherwise all I get is a blank window. (Once the drivers have installed)
Do you have drivers installed?
I've installed every driver I can find pertaining to mtp, htc, android, etc. I honestly think maybe there's something wrong with the phone, but then again when I "install hardware" on Vista and install all the drivers that way,I still get a code 10 (cannot connect).
What about ADB? If so you can transfer to computer with it.
my phone will not connect via usb, to transfer files I use web sharing. but that isn't feasible to transfer from phone to tablet, unless I'm on Wi-Fi. I need a way to do it when I'm away from home and on cellular data.
Are you using windows XP? If so, you must install windows media player 11 / 12 so that your pc will recognize your phone as a usb mass storage device and download and install the latest HTC Sync Manager, just google it.
Hope it helps.
Best regards.

Well i finally figured out why my phone wouldn't connect via usb, because the phone itself was BROKEN! Got a new one under warranty and everything is working perfect! Thanks for all the help guys! Its time to get rooting, again!
Hoy can use Airdroid from the play store

thanks for the advice, but airdroid uses data. it's handy if you're on Wi-Fi though.
