So at work sometimes 3g isn't stable to use Internet radio. Before on the original evo I didn't get good signal. Now with this evo its clear as heck. Same headphones and same position. I guess that's one good thing until lte turns on.

I've found that as well. When I run out of podcasts, I like to listen to NPR when I'm running errands or grocery shopping, and my OG Evo would work, but there would be too much loud clipping static (using the headphone cord as the antenna is really a kludge).
I just tested this the other day while out on my new Evo (with the same headphones). I was expecting similarly mixed results, but I was pleasantly surprised. Still not perfect, but (anecdotally at least) it was much better. It's not a scientific test, but I'm happy with it so far.

The phone's been pretty good so far, except for the Bluetooth output. I have a Bluetooth stereo in my car that I used constantly with my OG Evo and it worked great; I could play with it, walk around the car with it in my pocket, etc, and it would still play the audio flawlessly. With the 3D though, it has to be sitting out in the open. If I grab it, the audio cuts in and out. Even if I hover my hand a couple of inches above it cuts in and out (which should be cause enough for a replacement since the phone and receiver are literally two feet away from each other). This does not make me a happy panda.
Is anybody else having Bluetooth issues? Can anybody test theirs out to see if the problem exists outside of just mine???
paired with my xps15 ..playing VanHalen walked the 3vo two rooms over( about 50 feet) and still playing ..pissing the gf off tho ...she wanna know why I'm playing around with my new toy ...well ...gotta go ..gnight all
It has been solid for me so far. My happiest moment was when I tagged the button on my Plantronics 655 and voice dialed the wife. Haven't been able to do that since the WinMob days.
Haven't tried to pair mine with my Sony head unit, I'll report back if i can remember to tonight
Thanks guys. Sounds like it might be isolated to just mine. Looks like I might might be visiting Sprint again soon to get a replacement. So sad considering that I just traded in my original launch-day Evo that never had a single problem with it
Just reporting back in...
A2DP on this phone paired with my car's headunit is the most rock solid A2DP connection i've ever had. My epic would occasionally skip, and it was noticible that the driver sped up and slowed down to compensate for connection variations... but with the 3vo, you wouldn't have known the difference if i had plugged it in the 3.5mm jack.
I have mine paired with a Blackberry stereo receiver which is in my glovebox. This morning, I got out of the car to fill up my gas tank and grabbed my phone out of habit. When I was done filling, I tossed my phone into my pocket and hopped back into the car before I realized that I had been moving all around with my audio source. The streaming Pandora didn't stutter once through all of that
I think It's the best connection I've ever had.

I'm having much better Bluetooth quality with my E3D than I did with my Evo. With my OG Evo, if my phone was in my pocket and I turned my head to the right (with Motorolo S305 Bluetooth headphones), the signal would cut in and out. However, with my E3D, I haven't had a single problem with it at all yet.
I have the same setup, no problems whatsoever
There were a few threads a couple weeks ago about the Rezound's audio interference when listening over the 3.5mm jack, but no one has updated those in a while, and it wasn't clear whether this was a widespread issue or just a few units. There's been a couple articles on major websites (e.g. theverge.com), but they all quote HTC's statement that this is "an isolated issue with only a few reports." Needless to say, I don't quite trust that statement.
The issue I'm talking about is the chirp/crackle/whine that happens when listening to audio. It sounds like a data transmission from the radio or cpu. You can easily hear it by listening to audio with the phone's volume turned all the way down, through headphones or plugged into a car's stereo.
My own Rezound definitely has this issue, so I'm wondering whether I should try to get it replaced by Amazon (I'm two weeks in to my 30 day window). But besides this issue, everything else about it has been fine. So, my good people, it's up to you! Is this something that's on every unit, or just a few? Please vote so we can know how widespread this issue is!
Me and my wife have been through a total of 6 and all have had it, but some worse than others. Got a refurb from Verizon a while back and its not near as bad but still there.
Yesterday, I asked HTC for an ETA on the patch to fix this, but haven't heard back yet.

I hear a slight slight buzz for a few seconds when I pause audio, it is absolutely inaudible while any other sound is playing though, so I dont know if I have the same problem.
Here's an entire thread about this issue. You can probably get the info you're looking for in it.

I've noticed this only happens with my rezound when it's charging and I try to play music through headphone jack at the same time
I have it, got a vzw replacement and it also had it. Tried demos at 2 different stores, both had it. I think they all have it. Just need to turn the volume down in a quiet environment. Personaly I can hear it during calls. It's not terrible, but when you know it's there you always here it.
I must be lucky. I don't have that problem with the audio. So far, my device is working great. I have different headsets and have not heard that. I have a very expensive over the ears headset. And a way cheaper Bose in-ear headset and nothing but good sound.

I have really good hearing, but I could barely hear the static in the VZW store over the ambient noise in the background. But finding the same problem on 5 different phones between stores in NY, NJ, and a certified factory replacement makes me believe it's widespread. If not they should be able ensure that a replacement doesn't have the same problem.
Since the poll is about 50/50 I'll try another factory certified replacement.
Even though I can't recall anyone who's reported the sound issue ever receiving a replacement without a sound problem.
I have heard "hissing" before. But my Rezound does not make it. I am very familiar with and it's one of those things that I don't like. In fact, its common with some of the low quality burned CDs some people make. It's something I dislike. A lot. lol. I too can like good audio quality. It's the reason I spend a lot of money on high quality headsets. If various music formats made that hissing. And not just low quality tracks I would know. Good luck.

I'm not really noticing this besides when I'm on YouTube. It seems like if you have a continuous flow of sound, its hardly recognizable (especially at a high volume). For example, while listening to music, I hardly notice this, but when I'm listening to someone talk on YouTube, in between the persons sentences I can hear the static. Also if I am watching YouTube, if I pause a video I can hear the staticy whining for a good 2 seconds perfectly clear

I feel like I may be a lucky one. This is my second phone and both have sounded great. So if I do have any of the above issues, I'm not looking for it because if I find it, it'll drive me crazy.

Like the title says, we found a mod for better connection/fast data speeds.
Any mod out there to get a better quality connection to my BT headset. I really cant get more than a few feet away before it cuts out.
I have a Motorola HX550
I have the same headset and have gotten to at least 10ft away from mine before cutting out.
My mytouch4G would cut out after what seemed a football field away. Don't matter much to me as my phone is always close to me, but the further away the better I am sure for many.

that doesnt make sense, newer phone, worse connection???
I have a Plantronics Voyager Pro HD Headset that worked fine on my OG EVO.
I've experienced and tested a bit.
About a minute into a call, it drops the headset and jumps over to the phone, then comes back a minute or two later.
I've updated the firmware and repaired the headset just in case.
Anybody experienced a similar problem or have any ideas?
Edit: It 'may' be related to having wi-fi on at the same time. Still more experimenting.
I have this very same issue.
Those must be the free Wire Fly headsets

I wish the headset was free. It would irritate me less. As it is, it's a very expensive headset.
I will try one of my other headsets later this week.
I have this problem on my epic 4g I'm blaming it on too much WiFi signals in the area, seems better in areas without WiFi eg the car.
Haven't tried it much on the EVO LTE much so far

Either way, it's a problem with the phone, not the headset or WiFi signals. I have an iPhone that does not exhibit this issue, as well as a RAZR Maxx that does not exhibit this issue.

Hey all,
I just switched over to the Evo 4G LTE from my trusty old Photon. In my experience, the audio over bluetooth is much worse in terms of clarity. I had no problems pairing with my car's bluetooth system, but I can't say how poor my calls have been in comparison to my old photon, and even my AT&T iPhone.
What is everyone else's experience?
htc does sometimes slack with their bluetooth stacks but I don't really have any experience with it through a car stereos. Have you noticed any difference in call quality using the phone normally?
Well I've played music in my car and it sounds excellent. Calls sound ok, i may say not the best but its not bad quality. I even have a Bluetooth keyboard with touchpad at the same time and no issues at all.

Much better than the garbage they had for sense 3.x, but still not as good as the bt in cyanogenmod
My experience is just in regular phone calls. I've used the Photon for the past year. I won't say it's reception is better, but it definitely sounds better over BT than the Evo 4g LTE. Calls in the car are quite important to me, so, that could be a dealbreaker.
BT calls on my visor mounted speaker are clear as can be...and I wear hearing aids so when sound quality sucks, I know it quickly.
Something is wrong with bluetooth!!
Coming from the og evo never had an issue with the bluetooth in the car or any other device I connect to now with the lte evo it's choppy for the first 30 sec to a min of connection and then during playback it randomly chops almost as if it was buffering or something. Any ideas?
No issue here. Connected to SYNC in my car. Music, nav voice, and calls are clear. Imo better quality than the 3vo. Even noticed beats works for nav and music. Very happy. Less issues with voice commands via sync too

I'm getting this too and it's very frustrating. Anyone else?
No issues with BT
One thing that greatly improves the BT sound.....turn the phone's BT volume up about 1/2 way.... It does sound sub-par when I have it up too high.
Full firmware update + new base fixed my problem. I believe it was the firmware, though.
