Yes. I think a factory reset would do. Or else try this method. I dont know if there's a simpler way to do it
Download the flash tool from here:
http://androxyde.github.com/Flashtool/
You'll find it in the installation tab.
Download the ICS firmware for your phone from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=27013445#post27013445
Follow these steps:
1.Install Flashtool.
2.Place downloaded firmware file(.ftf format) in Flashtool\firmwares(by default C:\Program Files\Flashtool) folder.
3.Start Flashtool.
4.Click the lightning button and choose Flashmode.
5.Firmware should appear there, if you have it in correct folder. Choose it.
6.Now on the right pane, Untick wipe data. (Keep wipe cache ticked).
7.Tick all options under the exclude section. (Tick exclude Fota, exclude system, exclude kernel and exclude baseband)
8.Turn off your phone, connect USB cable to computer, then while pressing Volume Down button, connect USB cable to your phone.
Flashtool should detect your phone and starts flashing. Follow the instructions.
When it says "Flashing completed", unplug your phone and turn it on.
Thats it
Can i do this without unlocking my Bootloader ? I don't want to root or flash a custom rom, just want my phone back as i just bough it from the shop .. Maybe downgrade to GB 2.3.4 .62 ?

To stop all those questions about how to install one of the pre rooted 2.3.3 ROMs properly I decided to make this HOW-TO to keep the threads clear.
INGREDIENTS:
All you need is:
1 Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 device
1 Computer
PREPERATIONS:
At the moment, there is NO method to root your X10 after you have installed 2.3.3. So if you installed 2.3.3 via SEUS, PCC oder Flashtool the first step you have to do is to get a rooted stock 2.1 ROM on your device. To avoid errors I would recommend this step to everyone
INSTALL 2.1, root it and install xRecovery:
Get the newest Flashtool http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746&highlight=flashtool
Get one of the stock 2.1 ROMS (same thread as flashtool)
Extract the ROM-file to your Flashtool/firmware folder
Start flashtool
Click on "Flash" and select the firmware you just downloaded
Click OK
Turn off your device
Connect cable to PC NOT TO YOUR X10
Press Back-Button on your X10 and connect cable
Wait flashtool to finish
After that, turn on phone and activate "Unknown sources" and "USB-Debugging" under Application-Settings
Hit "Root" in flashtool
Wait for flashtool to finish and X10 to reboot
After reboot hit "Ask root permissions" in flashtool and select allow on you X10 (a popup will appear)
Hit "xrecovery" in flashtool
GETTING ROOTED 2.3.3 ON YOUR DEVICE:
First of all, you have to download the ROM you wish to install. This step should be clear, but you never know . Every of those ROMs comes in 2 parts. 1 update.zip and 1 kernel+baseband file for flashtool.
Copy the update.zip (name can be different!!) to your X10s SDcard
Reboot X10 into xRecovery (Keep hitting Back-button while X10 restarts)
Select "Factory Reset"
Select "Wipe Cache Partition"
Select "Advanced options" -> "Wipe Dalvik Cache"
Select "Install custom zip" and select the zipfile you copied to your SDCard
Wait for xRecovery to finish
After that, DONT REBOOT OR DO ANYTHING, JUST REMOVE ANY CONNECTED CABLE AND REMOVE BATTERY TO TURN OF PHONE
EXTRACT the kernel+baseband-File into flashtools firmware folder
Hit "Flash" in flashtool and select the copied kernel+baseband
Now insert battery again (make sure no cable is connected. Otherwise the phone will start into charging mode and you have to start again)
Press Back-button and connect cable
Wait for flashtool to finish
Start X10 and enjoy your rooted 2.3.3!
Hope this helps
nice job man

I'm currently using Wolf's ROM and I can tell you there's definitely a difference. The speed is absolutely amazing. He's made some optimization tweaks and there's no lag at all. Everything runs totally smooth and the battery life is astonishing.

Doh!! I hadnt unpacked the bundle with winrar so flash obviously wouldnt work!!
Hi, i have a noob question:
I'm now on official 2.1 update 1 and rooted with Z4root a while ago.
When i start this tutorial, do i have to unroot first so i can root again with the above method or can i just start from step 1?
I think you can just start with installing xrecovery.
Ok, I started the tutorial and installed xrecovery with flashtool. But when i get to the step to select the update.zip file on my sd card, it says the card is not accessable. So i Restored my phone and booted it up to check if i can check my sd card via astro, everything works just fine. So i Started the tutorial all over, even reinstalled xrecovery and rooted again. I did this already 4 times now ,but still the same problem in recovery, what do i have to do ta access the sd card with the update on it in xrecovery?
Thanks

just extract the ftf file inside the .7z using winzip/7z/winrar.

How long does the process of restoring back to stock 2.1 take? I've been waiting 10min and its stuck on "flashing loader" I'm getting scared....
You forgot to mention ONE important step: having SEUS installed in order to have flashing driver required for flashtool.
question here,
i was using stock 2.3 last couple of day, yesterday i decided to flash custom rom so i followed this thread's guide. however how i stuck at stock rom 2.1 because i can't gain root access! this is weird i been using flashtool and z4root none of them giving me root access. anybody have any idea what's this problem?
thanks in advance!

you didn't change the permission or the file is incompatible ..the only way is to roll back on your backup ..or flash a new fw

Did u unlock bootloader? Or still locked?
Flash generic ftf using flashtool or try repair using PCC.
Sent from my WT19i ExMIUI-ed
If you have installed clockworkmod recovery and able to boot into recovery, then try flashing any custom rom(don't forget to wipe cache and data).
OR
Flash a GB or ICS rom (.ftf extension) via flashtool.
you need to download any .ftf firmware for your phone.
then install flashtool.
put your downloaded .ftf files to C/program files/flashtool/firmwares.
turn off your phone, hold down the volume down button, while you do that don't let it go just yet.
open flashtool.
connect your phone to pc using usb cable.
wait until flashtool recognized your device.
then click on the lightning icon and choose flashmode.
then choose the .ftf files that you just downloaded then click on "start" if im not mistaken.
then just sit back and relax and wait till flashing finished.
that's it. your phone will boot normally.
if you dont want your files in phone memory (downloaded games/apps/settings),
unchecked wipe data and cache in flashtool before you flash the .ftf
Flash Using Flashtool
Just flash your phone using flash tool.
1. Download the respective *.ftf file for your phone.
2. And then flash using the flash tool available for xperia.
:good:
if you really want to save your data ..and you already have cmw ..
there is a tricky way ..but not sure if it would work or not
Thank you very much guys. I reflashed my phone. Problem solved, but all my messeages gone, thats the only bad thing, and Market app is still not updates to Google Play, i dont know why
I have no ROM on my device after wiping all partitions. I have XCWM recovery installed. But since the Xperia U doesn't have an SD card slot I can't get a ROM on the device to install a new one.
I have tried the Sony Update Service already but since I unlocked the bootloader it is giving me an "modified firmware, can't continue" error.
Any ideas how I can install a new ROM?
Pete
try with flashtool to flash the stock and then put a rom on your damn amazing xu
Yea just flash ftf with Flashtool. And don't format the sd card next time!

hiii,
recently i flash jb rom in my xperia neo v,but the rom is laging, some important application like gmail ,play store, video recording ,browser not working it say unfortunatly gmail...etc are stopped,i flash jb rom with fusion 5.5 kernal
n then i decided to go back to the ics n i flash ics kernel (Mt11_4.1.B.0.587_Kernel.ftf) via flash tool
n my mobile does not start up it revolve arround sony logo ,n unfortunatly i miss to turn on usb debugging
i search all thread but none of them help me plz help me my phone does not start up :crying:
plz help me how to turn on usb debugging
First make sure you have full firmware .ftf not the kernel .ftf. If you don't have it, download it from link I provided below.
Don't freak out. Flashing ftf doesn't need Debugging to be ON.
To fix this do following:
1. Start Flashtool
2. Click on flash icon & select Flashmode.
3. Select the ftf file.
4. IMPORTANT: See the boxes on the right & CHECK all the 'Wipe boxes' (Apps log, User data, Cache, etc.) & UNCHECK all the 'Exclude boxes' (FOTA, System, Kernel, Baseband, etc.)
5. Click OK
6. Follow the instructions on screen.
7. Boot up your phone!
You're done! Cheers!

Hello
I am attempting to flash my Xperia Z ultra sol24 variant for the first time. However I am running into problems and cannot seem to make any progress.
Ultimately, the goal is to root the device, unlock the sim carrier (au_kiddy) and flash the device to the c6833 Global rom, whilst keeping the 32gb internal storage that this latest variant (sol24 Japan only) comes with.
I am following the guide here (Its in three steps):
http://tealic.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/1663/
http://tealic.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/1664/
http://tealic.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/1665/
Firstly (http://tealic.blog.shinobi.jp/Entry/1663) I was told to backup and make a ftf backup using the sony PC companion and flashtool which I have done. The ftf file I had created is SOL24_14.3.C.0.239_au_KDDI.ftf
Then after doing so, the guide says to download the android SDK and adt bundle, then download the latest xperiaRootkit (rootkitXperia_20140719.zip) and extract the rootkit to platform tools folder of SDK and connect my XU to the pc using usb debugging the run the bat which will essentially root my device.
After doing so I downloaded the SuperSU app and finished the root.
I was then told to download the two files from (http://htcsoku.info/htcsokudev/rudimentary-knowledge/sol24-globaledition-rom/)
SOL24_Xperia_Z_Ultra_GlobalEdition_1.20.973.4.zip
SOL24_Xperia_Z_Ultra_GlobalEdition_Baseband.ftf
And place the GlobalEdition_1.20.973.4.zip onto my SD card, then using the XZU&Z1recoveryv4Windows tool (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=45149758#post45149758) boot into CWM mode and install the zip.
That is where my problems started, and upon installing the SOL24_Xperia_Z_Ultra_GlobalEdition_1.20.973.4.zip I selected the "reboot" option and upon reboot, it was stuck at the SONY logo and the phone would not boot any further.
I hard reset the XU and tried using the flashtool to flash SOL24_Xperia_Z_Ultra_GlobalEdition_Baseband.ftf as that is the next step in the guide, however the device was still stuck at the sony logo. So I attempted to flash my pre-made SOL24_14.3.C.0.239_au_KDDI.ftf file back to the device, which worked, but took me back to where I had started.
I am trying to redo the steps above but I am getting an error, I have re-installed the XZU&Z1 recovery v4 Windows tool to the device, command promt says that "Installing has finished" however my XU did not automatically restart and boot into CWM (Similar to the first time I installed it), and I cannot enter CWM mode on startup via manually shutting down and restarting. (The phone does not vibrate, nor does the green led appear) it just skips straight to the xperia logo and boots.
Is it possible that I have somehow flashed my pre-made SOL24_14.3.C.0.239 ftf incorrectly? As the CWM tool was working originally.
There are three columns, "Wipe" "Exclude" and "MiscTA exclude" on the side of the flashtool that I have played around with, however after flashing a few times and going through the steps I'm still unable to get the CWM tool to work, and am ultimately stuck at the moment.
I feel this can be easily resolved, however I am not sure which ftf to download or even how to properly flash the ftf(What do I need to exclude from the ftf flash?)
Can I please request some assistance?
Edit: I attempted installing the XZU&Z1 recovery v4 tool whilst the phone was off this time, and it was a success, it seems the CWM tool is now working properly. I will attempt to re-flash the global rom now.
Edit: After installing SOL24_Xperia_Z_Ultra_GlobalEdition_1.20.973.4.zip via CWM I am stuck at the SONY logo on boot again.

I had just attempted to flash the older 14.1.K.1.217_KDDI ftf (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=62877990) version however kept running into the "adb server is out of date. killing... " error using the flashtool.
As you mentioned, the blog poster had actually uploaded his own ftf which was a later 14.1.K.3.95 version, but still earlier then my original one.
So after downloading and flashing that, it seems like there are no longer any problems when attempting to install that global rom zip via CWM.
As of now I am awaiting the unlock code.
Additionally nabendu1 or any other poster, would you perhaps be able to tell me what the different check boxes in the "Wipe" "Exclude" and "Misc" section of the flash tool are generally used for? The blog post says to simply check and exclude everything when I am ready to flash the c6833 ftf, however if I were to check and exclude everything, will I not lose all features of the latest c6833 firmware?

Wipe menu on the right side indicates what u want to wipe before flashing. Wipe data/apps clears the data on the phone [ I don't know for sure if it only wipes the apps or app+ data( like photos etc ]. Wipe cache wipes the cache and don't know what's appslog but always during flashing wipe cache and appslog wiping data is optional .
Exclude means not flashing the entire firmware. For eg u can flash everthing except the recovery using exclude and ticking recovery or bootloader or kernel etc etc. Don't Exclude anything except mentioned somewhere or u know what ur doing. Misc I don't remember the menu but it's not used to generally flash ftf

Wiping cache means clearing ur cache partition data. Wipe cache is not a file in ur ftf it is a process. exclude cache means exclude flashing of the cache partition from the ftf.
