[Q] How to fix 0% battery problem in Neo V - Sony Ericsson Xperia Neo, Pro

Hi.
I can fix this problem in GB Build 4_0_2_A_0_42 using DoomKernel & AsanSam fix 0% tool, But I can't do this in ICS Build 4_1_A_0_562 .
Please guide me,tnx.

Can you explain at little more ?
what do you mean by 0% battery problem ?

Battery seems to be 0 percent, while in fact there are more than 80 percent charge.

that's weird ...
never heard about it,
have you tried battery calibration ?

wow, you never heard about famous 0% battery problem after downgrading from 2.3.4 to 2.3.2??
@OP: why can't you do it in ICS?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1566871 this kernel have 0%patch

Introduced kernel*for ICS has been deleted from the server.

I'm in 4_1_A_0_562 , which kernel do you recommend?

how in the world you got 0% battery issue in Neo V ? Neo V never had a 2.3.3 fw afaik

I would suggest [NightElf Kernel]:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1468043
It seems to be compatible with Stock ROM
Btw flashing kernel requires an unlocked bootloader, while officially unlocking bootloader will remove the warranty too. Unlocking bootloader using S1 tool instead will not remove the warranty...but it is rather complicated. If your phone still have warranty, just send it to Sony and get fixed...but remember to back up everying first!
Sorry for my BAD English

I get freexperia-semc-kernel, But it's a .zip file contains few files & folders.
How to flash this kernel?
Are there .img file?

Flashing kernel must need a .img file...you may look for a .img file inside the .zip file.
If it doesn't exist, maybe...you've downloaded the ROM other than the KERNEL?

Hi guys,
I am facing a similar issue in all JB roms (Neo v). Battery reaches 10% then suddenly shows 0% and phone shuts off. :crying::crying:
Did everything I could think of, Incl wiping battery stats, reflashing stock FTF before using custom roms etc etc.
Can anyone please help me!

What kernel you used?maybe a kernel bug?
Sent from my MT11i using xda app-developers app

Happens in all JB roms be it 4.1 or 4.2. This implies the bug is present with all different JB kernels (for me at least). Any idea?

KA6 Ice Cream Sony Boot Loop

Hi
I have tried all day to install ICS on my Neo V, and I always end up in a boot loop (after the XPERIA logo it restarts). I have tried KA06 ICS and another Sony based ICS ROM.
I'm pretty new to this and I'm not sure what info you need so please ask away.
One thing I noticed is that whenever I clear the dalvic-cache it gives an error (not mounted or something i think?)
Thanks

Did you succesfully unlocked your bootloader and installed a custom kernel?
Thats what i did to install k6 on my neo v.
1º Flash .64 baseband.
2º Flash .62 baseband with flashtools(check exclude baseband).
3º Flash kernel.
4º Recovery wipe all + install k6.
5º Flash neo-v patch.
if i install .64 baseband im stuck on xperia boot image loops.

Sorry for my bad English...
@krabappel2548 It came unlocked and with a custom 2.3 rom when I bought it. I can install a stock 2.3 rom using flashtool fine.
@equlog Yes this time I didn't flash the 64 baseband from the KA thread and just left the stock one on. (I had .62 stock)
@wilsonchuchu I tried that but it didn't help
EDIT: Somehow it works now! I flashed the stock rom again and have been using it for a while (I rebooted a couple of times), then I flashed the non-oc kernel and this time I was able to clear the dalvic-cache. The rest worked fine and I've just booted in to the phone. I'm not sure why it worked this time because I've been doing this all day.
Now for KA7 lol
Thanks for your help

You're welcome I also updated Neo V patch
KA06 looks really good, just one problem so far (if you can call it that) the cosmic flow live wallpaper crashes every time I try to add it. The other live wallpapers work. Is this because the hardware acceleration isn't fully implemented yet?
Downloading KA07 now

Will u made a mod when sony release official ics? i hope ^^
I've just been reading some more about the fw/basebands and it looks like the .62 firmware does include the .64 baseband. Looking in about phone seems to confirm that. Am I right?
.62 f/w has .64 baseband
Thanks, so for anybody else having problems with the Neo V it seems the best way would be:
1: Flash .62 firmware
2: Flash KA kernel.
3: Boot into recovery, wipe all + install KA.
4: Flash neo-v patch.
Here is the stock firmware .62 as an update.zip (for installing with ClockWorkMod): http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1518148

I think I may have found the battery life problem. Looking at the battery usage under settings, the gallery app shows by far the most battery usage. When I go to apps and find gallery I see it's running a service called picassa sync. Disabling picassa sync on all the Google accounts and then force closing the gallery app seems to fix the battery usage. Can some other people please try it and confirm if it works?
After doing this the cpu time and amount of the battery used by the gallery app does not get any higher, even if I make sure the gallery is running again and it moves down the list and the highest battery usage becomes the screen.

happened to me just now in KA12 ICS after I tried to remove the onscreen buttons
off topic
and about the widgets.. did anyone seems to have a problem with it? I have this battery widget after putting it up in homescreen, it doesn't move at all though the battery is decreasing, the widget stays the same. Same with player pro widget, you can press the next button fine but the music title and the album thumbnail stays.

[Q] flash some other kernel on official ICS 4.0.4

hi friends,,i updated my neo v with official ICS 4.0.4 thru pc companion yesterday..no root,, no bootloader unlocked..but when phone was idle in the night,,approx for 8 hours,,battery drained for about 9%...so i want to ask can i flash night-elf kernel or suave kernel or any other kernel on my neo v to get good battery backup "after rooting with bootloader remaining locked" ?????
thanks
bootloader locked=stock kernels
bootloader unlocked=custom kernels+stock kernels
If you did and update, meaning your old apps stayed after update, try repair option in pc companion, it will wipe your phone and install fresh firmware.

I didn't have any battery drain on stock 4.0.4.
Maybe one of your apps is the reason?
Is it same for every night, or you noticed it only one night? WiFi, data on/off? Are you on 2g only? Can't remember where is that setting in stock Sony ICS, settings->networks..
Which fw you had before, 4.0.3? or some of GB fw's, if yes, then which version?

Need help in rooting xu[solved wid unanswerable questions]

Hi guyz
This is some weird problm I m facing in rooting my cell
None of the rooting methods seems to work for me wonder why
I cant root via flashing older kernel first coz that makes the device unusable (both processing and touchscreen responsiveness is decreased by 100 times)
Same happens when I try flashing custom kernels wid autoroot feature which includes sliding kernel vengence kernel munjeni and brains kernel
Every kernel other than the one which I extracted from stock ftf makes the device unusable
M on. 54 fw... And tethering is also broken...
So what the reason could be??
Is it the stock rom m I using??
Should I try to download c.1.0 which never caused me any trouble...??
Its highly irritating... M on absolutely stock fw and unrooted device really sucks... :/
Sorry its big but elaborated for better understanding of the issue
Edit - why me .., embarrassed...
I hv helped 100s here and nw struggling to get my phone rooted.
I cant download a new stock rom coz m seriously lacking any free time due to my clg.
this problem does not go away when u come back to .54 kernel after rooting??

I aint going back to that stock ftf... It almost ruined my confidence hahahaha

Battery Status Stuck at 100%

I've heard phones needing battery calibration because the phone might show 100% charged at a lower level.
My problem is a little different...I installed stock ics rom with thilinac's ics kernel (I've used it before, always worked perfectly) but the battery reading is stuck at 100%. I've tried almost everything but of no use, the battery reading doesnt changes
I switched off the phone, left it to charge for 2 hrs, switched on and calibrated battery to 100% but it still doesnt changes.
I tried performing a clean install (wiped everything-except sdcard) and reinstalled the rom but it still doesnt works.
This Ics stock rom had worked without problems with thilinac's ics kernel. Before this I was on mastero9017's moProject42 rom (based on CM10.1)
Please tell me how to get this battery status working again

No need to root again. Since the boot loader is unlocked, you can flash any kernel straightaway. No need to do those steps again. Flash stock ftf... Let it settle and flash the associated kernel for your desired ROM.

That worked...I was earlier using moAOKP rom(4.1.2) Wiping all data and flashing stock rom didn't work...
What worked for me is..I flashed the moAOKP rom again (the battery status was fine again) I flashed a different kernel and wiped the battery stats still having moAOKP and then did a full wipe. Flashed the stock kernel and then the stock firmware and battery status was again working

Battery always at 100%.

I'm facing a weird problem. It happens with ctcaers kernel and some custom ROMS like hd ultimate , zelly cream etc.
Battery percentage stays at 100% all the time.
I don't think that it is a hardware problem because battery meter is correct with other kernels. It is also correct with JB roms.
Has anyone a solution ?
Thanks

Flash the stock ROM first and then try different ICS Kernels and boot up to see which works fine ( Because the problem is only in certain ICS Kernels , I experienced this problem only in the kernel kappa v1.7 )

PROBLEM :=>>
I think There is a problem with stock ICS kernel that it shows battery 100% always and you can not get right percentage of battery remaining by widgets and other apps from play store...
It happens with me when i flash stock ICS firmware ...
When you pull out the battery for some minutes/hours it shows 100% it is not hardware problem it is kernel problem...
SOLUTION :==>
This problem happened with me for sometimes i searched on google and xda but couldn't get proper solution that works 100%...
Reboot to CWM recovery...
Go to ADVANCED=> WIPE BATTERY STATS
POWER OFF phone
Flash custom kernel using flashtool in fastboot mode...
AND you are done..
This solution works for sure and i have done this for quite times 100% working with XPERIAS ...:good:
RAGE KERNEL problem :==>
I have tried rage kernel v3.2 but i am not satisfied with that ...:crying:
Battery drains quickly without usage (in 6 hours battery drains 25% without turning on screen)
Phone is getting heat because of over clocking ...
Sometimes phones hangs in such way that no hardware buttons works and screen is on touchscreen not works...i have to pull out battery and restart it...
QUESTION :==>
As there is a problem with ICS stock kernel we have to flash custom kernel ....
What is the best kernel for stock ICS .587???
