73 update, now, UK! - Sony Xperia P, U, Sola, Go

Just connected my Xperia to the computer tonight (Thursday 7 May 2012) and it told me the *73 update was available.
I had flashed generic *67 UK ROM a couple weeks ago, to rid bloatware from O2, so, it's still unbranded after the update, much to my relief!
I was surprised at the update really, as I believe ICS is just around the corner, but, it's always nice to get an update.
Let's hope it improves battery life, maybe even more so with ICS???

It's 7 JUNE? Also. 75 is available

Wake up :-D

yes finally lol

73?
I'm also in UK and just connected my phone to PC Companion and got 'surprised' by the window displaying 6.0.A.3.75 being available for my phone.

yeah mines says .75 as well

I'm definitely gonna have to check this out when I power the laptop in the morning.
Anyone noticed any real changes yet? Like battery performance or stability etc...

Bought my XS from 3 last week (arrived last Friday) and it had .73 on it already
How can I tell if it's 3 branded or not? It's 6.0.A.3.73.

Boot up screen will have a big 3 logo on it. Usually a good sign that its branded.

Any ftf for this anywhere...???

I take it it's not available OTA right?

No dont think s.

You guys are a bit late there. The rest of the world has had .73 for a month or so and are on .75 now.

UK generic is on. 75 now I think OP made a mistake on the title

anyone else struggling to update theirs? mines been on "preparing computer for software update" for the last hour or so :S

I've flashed the CE1. 75 update already, but is it worth me changing back to uk now? Or does it not really make any difference? For ICS update etc?

Heh, good about time. It's been on .67 since I bought it. Had the random popup that surprised me too while the phone was unplugged and I was browsing the web... Going straight to .75 tonight. Hope we can keep up this time.

I think that whichever region gets ICS first, I'll be flashing that region's FW as quick as you like!

X10 No longer on Sony Ericsson Update Service. Iminnent new update?

The X10 is no longer available as a phone to update on SEUS, it was there an hour ago. I have restarted the Update app several times and it isn't showing up.
Purely speculation but an update to 2.1?
I wish, but something must of changed for them to remove it.
BTW this is in the UK, don't know about elsewhere, check if you can.
still available in Germany...

Thanks for checking!
That how they tease you.
This is almost like the forums for the IPhone/Mac nerds, where they watch for updates at Apple store all the time, hoping for new models/toys.
Scary..

ICS 4.03 OTA update suspensed?

I think Asus suspended the 4.03 OTA update. I got my new unit of Transformer prime and no matter how I clicked on check update it won't let me because non is available. I had another unit, where the other one i updated last night. I brought from the same place and I am in Canada Toronto.
Maybe ISC is too buggy and they need to crack out a new one before the bad press spread...
Duo you have a serial number?
yep
i do, i have built of WW if that matters
is it because my battery is below certain % so it won't let me
Yeah I just got mine this evening and haven't been able to update to ICS yet either. Does it have to be 100% battery before it will find an update?

That may be a good sign that they are trying to fix it
From what I read it has to be above 15%.

Tried at 30 with my phone tethering, but no luck, will give a try at home once it's fully charged (Currently at work)
Damn... I was super excited about the update already being out. Something tells me I'm going to have to wait a while now.

Are you sure your serial number is listed in the software? (Settings then About My Tablet then Status).
We all have physical serial numbers, the bug is with the software not knowing it.
If you do and your battery is over 15% then they likely are suspending the OTA.
Sent from my DROIDX using XDA App
I'm showing a serial in status and last time I tried updating my battery was at 85%. Sounds like it's suspended...

I am. Been logged into market and gtalk and such.

Yep, got my TFP this afternoon. Came home tried to update and it says nothing available. Connected to marketplace/google. I have a serial number, so its their side.

Support told me new 4.0 firmware is coming in next few days
So if there is something wrong with it, why are some working? Just returned mine, have return remorse if they fix it now.
Better you return it while you know you can get a refund than end up stuck with a broken system later that ASUS refuses to admit is broken.
I'm currently on the phone with support one last time (OD is picking up the unit tomorrow, but given I have 4 shipments of accessories coming from Amazon...I realized I'm better off if I can get ASUS to finally just send me a new unit)- been on hold for over 45 minutes waiting for a supervisor. So...not a great start.
I was having the same problem but I assumed because I got mine in on jan 2nd (before the 12th official release date), that was why i never got any update notifications. I have checked over and over for the ICS update since I heard it was out but still nothing. So i assumed its something to do with regions.
However, after going through this thread...I checked the status of my unit and realised that serial number reads as "unknown". Please is this a defect of some sort? What are the implications(if any)?

From reading the other post, if your Android doesn't know your TFP's serial number, it cannot get update. Read that some ppl already returned theirs for a replacement.

[Q] anybody get 9.2.4.11 firmware ota in Canada yet?

Question says it all, still waiting, hope to get this thing working like it should !
I haven't got it yet...but for me it looks like the site is down...grrr...Been having some random reboots...hopefully this ota helps
No update here either. I just spoke to an Asus rep and he said it will be up tomorrow. Take this with a grain of salt because he also mentioned that the version of ICS that we have been running is quote "from android" and the Asus version will be available tomorrow . Also can someone also check if your "check update" is working under settings. Mine just sits there after clicking and does nothing. The Asus site is also down for me but works fine if I'm tethered and using mobile date. I wonder if that's related. Thanks in advance

Am getting the update notice since early this morning, trying to install, but poor Android dude drops dead on its back with a big red triangle busting out of it's gut ???? Wtf ???
Update cant install. Is it because i'm rooted?
Battery is at 50%, could that b the cause?
I' ll keep you posted
Still refusing to install update on a full charge now, am not getting any specific error code of any kind, just reboots after a few minutes without update, stuck on buggy 9.2.4.7 !!!!!

Update installed at 11:45pm (19th) in Toronto. Lost root but recovered it with previously installed OTA rootkeeper. Everything seems to be working smoothly. Haven't checked whether the gps is any more responsive yet.
BTW, I wasn't having any of the reboot issues so things haven't changed there.

Bricked Prime - Amazon

Well,
Had my prime 3 days, OTA update to ICA completed, now stuck at black screen after ASUS boot, Tried the battery drain, tried manual update via sdcard still no luck,
Phoned Amazon explained what had happened, RMA sent to return for full refund as they don't have any in stock.
Thought I was going to struggle to get another prime, but got one being delivered from Misco tomorrow.
Hopefully this time it will all go well, or do you think I should stay away from ISC update ??
Cheers
I think it depends on the prime. I was lucky. I have had mine for a week, updated to the latest OTA. Not one problem outside of the sometimes laggy browser. Make sure you charge it or have it plugged in before you update. Also I have heard it forces you to update eventually.

I have zero scientific data to back this up, but the first thing I did when I unboxed my prime was the latest update to ICS and it works great.
I got lucky with mine as well, I upgraded to ICS without any problems.
(I have not noticed many of the other reported problems with mine either).

Warranty replacement: Send back with 2.3.4 or ICS?

If you are sending in a GS2 for warranty, do they care if it's sent back with 2.3.4 or ICS? I remember most saying they just check to see if it powers on and don't really look at version or anything like that.
Odin to 2.3.4 is much quicker than Odin and then Kies
I don't see why it would matter. As long as there is no trace of being rooted and you have the stock rom on there, you're probably good either way.
Agreed.
Sent it back last week with 2.3.4. It is getting shipped back to me now after being fixed.
Sure are alot of these popping up lately. obviously we are seeing how long this device lasts.
Mines been acting up for quite some time now

I know. and I am.
There's basically another thread in general section.
Went back to 2.3.4 and tried to update with Kies to ICS just in case. I forgot how horrible Kies is. Issue after issue. Just left it at 2.3.4. I'll probably send it off that way or considering flashing UCLE5 tar to get it to ICS. Although I'm quite not in the mood to deal with that.
