Heard it actually kills battery... Would like to try it out tho
No Its good at eliminated the drain that the mobile data puts on the battery very well . While letting you use internet when you need it . I use it in conjunction with system tuner on speed Rom .

The paid version is worth it. I have been using it for a while now .
I have the paid version as well, I bought it earlier last year from the Android market, when I got my Nexus One. I use it from time to time on my Amaze, when I know I'm gonna be out for awhile and don't want to lug the charger around and it works fantastic ... Usually get anywhere from 1.75x - 2.35x the increase in battery life. Juice Defender, the free one, works pretty good but you can't customize any thing, and that's where you can tweak what you want to keep (power wise) and what Apps are able to run in the background or connect to the internet with certain apps but deny others. It can train to learn which is your home wifi network so that when you get close to home (GPS located) it will kick on your Wi-Fi and switch over and turn off mobile automatically so you don't have to remember ... Then when you leave home it will automatically turn Wi-Fi off when you step out the door and away from home so you don't drain battery constantly searching for wireless networks in the background.
So yes, Juice Defender Ultimate is highly recommended!

I use the paid version and its highly recommeneded . I don't usually have that 20% drain when the phone is in my pocket . plus my mobile data doesn't cut on until I use selected apps . make sure you disable mobile data for apps like settings .... Your launcher .... Etc . I'm still mad I've never known about this app until now .

how to read altitude from the LSP331AP pressure sensor

how can we read the data from the STMicroelectronics LSP331AP pressure sensor in our Galaxy S III phones? The one just mentioned on Engadget.
I work with UAV applications so having an accurate barometric pressure reading at the ground station is very important. And if I can read baro from my phone instead of buying a dedicated piece of hardware, that just makes my GS III even cooler than it was previously.
So does anyone know to read this value? Does it already report this to the phone to correct the GPS altitude (which is probably 100s of meters off, lol)? I'm assuming that the altitude reported in apps like Google Maps is probably pulled straight from the GPS..
Gps positioning should have a spherical accuracy error, so if it shows 5m that would be 5m in every direction.
(At least afaik)

Download S baro from Samsung apps or more services and do an internet sync on the app, that works for me

Based on the amount and quality of info provided by you, the answer can be only one:
you are using too big and leaking sand clock, when it turns, sand covers your screen.
Use mop.
Your funny and stupid lol

You are too intelligent to:
a) google the problem by yourself;
b) provide at least basic information: kernel, ROM, rooted or not, other mods installed or not.
Last but not least, you're very polite while asking for support, therefore your question, as you may see, got a huge attention and plenty of answers
....better still, contact the app developer

[Q] Use the Gear Fit as standalone

Dear Community,
i'd like to know if someone uses the Gear Fit as standalone device? Is it possible, or do i have to connect it certain times a day/week with a supported samsung device in order to keep it going? Does the Fit also displays the fitness statistics of several days?
Thanks for your answers,
brgds, zack
You do need to initialize it when you first get it so you would need the fit app at first but technically you could use it by itself afterwards. I feel it has enough options and self tracking to be a stand alone device.

Thanks for info!
Do you use a Gear Fit? You may have some screenshots of the fitness statistics displayed on the gear? Would be very nice
I haven't used the exercise app this month since I have been on vacation but here is the pedometer and the sleep tracking.

Ooops. Hit send and forgot the pics.

One last pic. The exercise activity and the pedometer are definitely off by a good bit. For a 2 mile run it says I went 2.2 miles... Hopefully samsung will recode it and make a little less sensitive.

many thanks for the screenshots that looks very nice!
I'm getting rid of my Samsung phone but want to keep the Fit. I just want to use the watch feature as a stand alone. But when I disconnected the fit from my phone, the time went off by a few hours. Is there anyway to adjust the time without the phone?

Please recommend app for me.

I'm going to be going door to door in neighborhoods(insurance work) and I really would like to keep track of which people I talk to and which ones don't answer the door so I can revisit them. Google maps would work if it let me cross out houses and stuff but all it let's me do is put a star on there. Any ideas? Thank you.

Would a normal spreadsheet app like Microsoft Excel for Android do the trick?
Hmm I'm not sure. I've never used it. I basically just need something that shows all the address in the certain area where I'm working so I can stay organized and mark which homeowners I talk to and which ones weren't home. I tried to do it with Google maps by putting stars on each house but hat was a fail bcuz he stars are inaccurate and they kept resetting.
