the problem is that i didnt backup my data, and right after i started my device there were no data at all, i see that the space is taken, yet nothing and started like if it s a new device

There are no chance to get back data partition...
Also relocking will not help.
Unlocking by fastboot always wipe data/cache partition on every Sony device.

Hello guys, I'll describe my situation here before getting dirty with the phone:
Phone: Xperia Neo MT15i
Android Version: 4.0.4 (Via PC Companion)
V. Kernel: Stock 2.6.329-perf compilation 4.1.B.0.431
A nice detail here, I had signal
The mobile was bought "free", I had different SIMs from different companies and that worked nice.
I unlocked the bootloader via the official way from the sony web, it went well. (I read in some posts that I lost my DRM, it scares the s**t out of me because I really don't know what is that)
Then I entered fastboot and type fastboot boot boot.img, this boot.img is the NeoRecovery.img, which contains CWM.
Then i insalled de super user.zip for beeing root, AND THAT'S IT.
Now, I have my rooted 4.0.4 with NO SIGNAL.
I insert my PIN code, then I get prompted with the Language selection menu, and then the following message:
Please insert SIM card and restart your phone
All this steps OVER AND OVER AGAIN
(I've tried with 3 different SIMs, and I can't even register in my network)
I've searched a lot, and don't know what to do here. Some help would be nice!
Thanks!!
Not sure about no signal problem, but interesting is that you get setup wizard every time, if I understood you ok.
Go to settings->backup&reset-> and do factory reset, it will wipe your data, so make backup.

Hello Madfysh, I wiped my data a few times (also from CWM) and still nothing
The worst part is that now PCC won't fix my device, so I don't know where to head next.
Should I try a custom kernel..? Should I re-lock my bootloader (how?) and trying from PCC?
Thanks!
EDIT: After some loops, I decided to flash my phone with the MT15_4.1.B.0.431_Global.ftf file using flashtool verison 0.9.0.0, I think that contains the ROM only, because the kernel that I'm using is still the same. Nothing new I'm afraid
well, you can relock it, and use PCC. Always good step in solving the problems, first try with stock reflash, then move on
How to relock, you can find in Neo V dev section, sticky thread.
Many thanks for the information, I'm going to try it right now.
Excuse me for asking but do you know if re-locking may cause brick / not entering fastboot again / not beeing able to unlock again?
Thanks!

I didn't hear that happened to someone.
Well finally I got it working, re-locking the bootloader did the trick.
Thanks Madfysh you're awesome. :good:

Interesting..
Flashing .ftf didn't help, but re-locking did, right?
isnt relocking done by flashing ftf alone?

If that was toward me, by .ftf i meant on entire .ftf which he mentioned in his post, not on the relock .ftf.
OK, I decided to put a custom ROM on my Z2 today. I did not unlock bootloader, but installed NUT's Dual Recovery. It booted, installed ROM fine. I decided I wanted to reinstall to change some settings, wiped data and davlik, rebooted (by accident), and now I'm just suck at SONY logo on boot. Please help, not sure how to fix this. I can power off by Power Button + Volume Up, or the red button on left side. I just want to get it back into recovery so I can reflash, or whatever I need to do to revive it. Searched around, not finding much to fix it. Please help!

OK, I at least got that far using proper instructions, still doesn't boot though, stuck at SONY logo.
Nevermind, it worked now. It was telling me some weird instructions, had to have it in fastboot, unplug and plug back in again without doing anything. It's booting now. Why would this happen? Maybe I just need to unlock my bootloader?

No, it has nothing to do with unlocking your bootloader. If you were using flashtool you probably didn't plug it in in the correct mode.
As for unlocking your bootloader, read the instructions on any ROM's OP. It will tell you whether it needs an unlocked bootloader or not. Sony stock based ROMs sometimes do and sometimes don't. AOSP based ROMs do need an unlocked bootloader as that is needed to flash a custom kernel. If you do want to unlock your bootloader, read up on how to root your device first without unlocking and then read up on how to back up the TA partition of your device. This partition is effectively your warranty and contains the DRM keys to all of Sony's proprietary software. If you unlock your bootloader without a backup, you lose your DRM keys and they are non retrievable. Thus, if you want to send the device off for a repair, without restoring the TA partition you cannot restore your warranty and it will be declined. Having your TA partition backed up means that if you ever need to send it off, you can restore it and this locks your bootloader and reverses any DRM key loss.
If you have any further questions please ask before doing anything. We can only help answer questions if you ask them :highfive:
Please post questions and help in the Q&A/Troubleshooting section. You will receive replies much more quickly if you do so.

Hi All,
I've just unlocked my Z2's bootloader and flashed AuRom V4
Since doing so, my Video Unlimited seems to be broken, I keep getting 'Network Unavailable' when trying to sign in...
Does anyone have a definitive solution for this or is this a definite side effect of unlocking the bootloader?
I couldn't seem to find a definitive answer but I would very much like to get it working again as I have lots of content on Video Unlimited I'd like to enjoy on the phone.
I did backup my TA Partition, but the problem remains!
Any help would be appreciated!
Side effect, it relies on the drm keys in the ta partition

Hmm, well I think I've just made my first n00b mistake...
I backed up the TA partition before I left Stock.
Because I wanted to get video unlimited back I figured I may as well restore the partition and the keys, so I plugged in the usb cable and pushed restore TA partition.
The integrity checks said restore success, restart phone? Now the phone won't boot, not even to the xperia logo I just get a vibration and nothing else...
Please don't tell me I've bricked the thing If I have I guess I should have read more carefully :/

Thankfully I've recovered back to stock. I will stay on stock for some time now with my movies unlimited working until I feel particularly gutsy again and fancy dipping my toes into Custom Roms again !
Was worried for a minute there I'd toasted the thing!

Hi,
The experience of holding a dead Z2 in my hand was not a pleasent one so it has put me off custom romming for a while on this device until I do a bit more reading as coming from a Samsung Note 2 where I never had a bricking episode...
Basically as I had nothing to lose, I downloaded Stock Generic DE firmware .314 and flashed it using flashtool and it has not only revived the phone but my movies unlimited and everything else is working.
I am guessing because I restored the TA partition (bricking my phone) my TA partition was then intact and then upon installing the stock firmware everything is back to normal
Pity really, my battery life was better with the Custom Rom, but it's a tough toss up as I am an avid user of movies unlimited!

Hi guys,
I found a stock rooted rom to flash, I have an issue mentioned in a previous thread which means i cannot connect to anything via usb.
I flashed the rom but it was bootlooped, so i went into recovery and did a factory reset.
I tried again but still bootloop, so i went into recovery again and did advance wipe for new rom (everything)
Then it wouldnt mount my external sd so i thought reboot into recovery and see if that works.
well it didnt lol all i get is the sony symbol and no further and i cant get into recovery. have double and triple checked!
Also tried to follow the brick solution but i cant connect to flash from the pc, it just says usb not recognized ( i have installed all the drivers, this seems to be the problem i have at the moment not being able to connect to the pc)
I have booked it in to sony as the usb isnt working and the hard drive is wiped im hoping there will be no evidence of root or custom recovery... please tell me this is the case so i can get the phone repaired under warranty?!
Any advice guys, lease dont be shy!
Oh and yes I know I'm a fool so we can forgo the posts calling me a dingbat ha ha

Hi all!! My problem is the following. I have a Galaxy S5. I gave it to my brother to play with a stupid game and he somehow managed to put a pin code. The funny thing is that he dont remember it! The problems are...:
I dont have register any gmail or samsung account/mail.
I dont have enabled usb debugging...
How can i get my photos/videos back? Thats the only things i want!
I tried with adb but it cannot find the phone as no usb debugg is enabled....
Is it anyway to reset it but not to loose my photos/videos? (they are in internal memory)
If i do hard reset will i loose my photos/videos?
If i flash a new rom will i loose my photos/videos?
@deviljin666 If you got gmail lock ,I can help you in that. please be more specific.

Since you have asked "If i flash a new rom...", it means you are aware about TWRP and flashing of ROM and I have flashed many ROMs of Kitkat, Lollipop, Marshmallow and Nougat and I never lost any photos and video, because I never wiped internal storage in twrp at the time of flashing the rom. So, if you do not wipes internal storage and flashes the rom, your photos, video will always be there for sure.

Your reply is bit confusing. What does it mean by "but this one has never been flashed."? I am not getting what is the role of usb debug on/off at the time of flashing rom and if bootloader of the device is unlocked you can flash the rom. As I told earlier, if you do not wipes internal storage, your photos and videos will be safe.
i was clear on what i said. I said that i have flashed other phones and tablets but not this one. this has everything stock.
ok!! thank you all for your valluable information. I Installed twrp and from the twrp`s menu i was able to copy all my files to my microsd
