it came with android 2.6
I want to put android 4.1

I'm trying to use wifi tether on my SE Xperia Neo V with Suave kernel and Ultimate HD 3.0.2.
Once setup is done and hotspot activated, I can connect my laptop and tablet to the wifi but there's no internet connection.
I've tried various combination of kernel and custom ROM (all based on sony's ROM) but ended up with the same result.
However, it did work with Cyanogenmod back when I was using it.
So, I'm guessing it might be because of sony's ROM, could anyone confirm that ?
Is there a fix ?
Does anyone managed to make it work ? with what kernel and what ROM ?
Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, as far as I remember. But I then changed for cyanogenmod, then to another provider that didn't support tethering.
I just noticed that now that I changed for another provider...

OK, I've tested many ROMs and none of the Sony .587 based ROM worked (the roms are working but not the tethering). Not with wifi nor bluetooth.
I've tried many things and only cyanogenmod works on that departement.
It has to be system related because all the apps I've tried (barnacle and such) didn't work either and some even caused the phone to reboot.
Also barnacle says WIFI: could not set ad-hoc mode of wlan0: Device ore resource busy

OK, I've found a solution.
After many tests and research, it seems to be specific to SFR french carrier and android 4.X (no wonder it was working for nearly everybody but me...).

Now, it needs to be done once the hotspot is activated and it will keep working as long as you don't reboot your device.
Would there be a way to "integrate" that in the ROM to make it automatique somehow ?

on my Tablet S (non Xperia), Wifi only, i had 4.05 R5a OTA :crying:and Yesterday I have rooted it (1000 thanks Condi!), and evrything seems to be good .
I'd like to know if there is something to improve, especially for :
-1 install an upgrade > 4.03
-2 predict the installation of a "non-rootable" system like 4.03 R5a,
-3 keeping a safety copy of my rooted system to réinstall, if there is a problem
-4 If I can't upgrade, improve the mabagement of Wifi who was better with Honneycomb
-5 can I use ROM manager to change android ?
Please be precise in proceedings because, if I have no problem with Windows-PC it isn't the same with Android-Tablet...

Since I installed the GAPPS from Android 4.4 KitKat on my HUAWEI G615/U9508, I now have some problems on my device:
- My home button doesn't work anymore.
- My keybord doesn't work anymore.
- I don't have a lockscreen anymore
I have already reset my device in 3 ways but I still retains the GAPPS/problems. I hope you guys can help me.

you should try flashing stock Rom of your device!
Reinstall rom.
did you only install those selected apps or is the rest of your phone also on android 4.4 level?
Do you have Google Search 3.1.8? I believe that is the version you need to get the Google Experience Launcher to work, and that may be the source of your issue.
hi, i just bought china gps with android based 4.1.1 with allwinner A13 ME74 processor and 512RAM, but i have a problem with this unit when turn on only show like on attachment there is no launcher so that i can not see the menu like android phone as usual, also in setting there is no choice to change the language, i need an advice how to enter the launcher because i want to install some application to this gps and is there a way how to change a language ? thank you

How I understood this, you want a mobile phone which don't have these features? That's crazy
