Unfortunately I didn't c or may be didn't get any error msg as it downloaded the update and them asked me to install it.. I selected install now and it rebooted and then said "update failed" when I unlocked the home screen..
strange thing is when I click on check system updates it started again downloading the update from 0%.. I can't wait to put it.. What do you recommended as now when it gets downloaded100%, should I copy the .crc and .zip file to sdcard-ext, so that if it fails then again it should not download it from scratch..

Can't remember how to do it, but there are loss of threads created here to help u solve your ota error.
Look up those old threads on how to resolve ota error on 2.3.5

Copy it to your SD Card, boot into Moto recovery and apply the update. Worked flawlessly for my handset.

Storage location of OTA updates?

Hi, does anyone know where the OTA firmware updates are kept on the Galaxy S3?
I had a generic ROM on my phone which had an update which got downloaded. I did install it because the ROM wasn't the one I was after.
After finding the correct ROM and flashing it I see the downloaded update is still waiting to be installed from the previous ROM...
I know I could just wipe my phone but I'd rather not lose all my data at the moment.
This file must be stored somewhere but I can't seem to find it...
Any help would be appreciated

Cache partition.

Yeah it's root/cache/fota
But obviously you have to be Rooted to see it.
Thanks for the replies... I got root access back and installed Root Browser, found that fota location and it seems to be empty... see attached pic...
Any other ideas? Perhaps I need to reset a file that says there's an update downloaded and ready to install..?

They can download, the only question is weather they can install it or not. As for the OP, give the explorer superuser permissions. That should fix your prob.

[Q] "xt910" new forums user+need help

reference link; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2231289
Hello everyone,
I am a long time read of xda and a new forums user.I would like to thank "pzyduck" in the link above for his bringing us all the jelly bean for xt910 phones.
Reason for my post, the retail uk rsdlite jelly bean install worked perfect however i lost root, even though i used ota rootkeeper app.My problem is i need to establish root again.I have made backups of ota rootkeeper, superuser and system cwm from my previous install of ics and i was wondering is their anyway to get root back from my "motomizor app" stormbird backups? If anyone can help me with any good suggestions please reply and if successful i have no problems uploading my backups so other users can establish root again.
Try this if it works fo ya

Hit the thx button if i helped ya in anyways
Rsdlite wiped my root. This thread you provided won't help much. I was thinking of something in the terms of using terminal emulator and my backup and file swapping in order to establish root again somehow.

You might have more luck with more information on how you got to this point. For instance, did you root your phone and remove the apps? Also where did you download the apps from? If they are APKs you can install them from a file browser. If they are ZIP files you probably need to flash them from your custom recovery. Most downloads include specific instructions on how to install, so I would check there first. If there are no instructions, then I suggest you ask for help in that thread, that is unless someone else hasn't already.
I was rooted but still pretty much stock. I flash back to stock using odin so I could use the isis wallet. Then I upgraded to 4.2.2 and noticed that I no longer had samsung apps. So today I went to Samsung's website and downloaded it. Clicked to install and it trys to install then says application not installed?

Same issue here, bone stock VZW GS4 recently update to 4.3 and factory reset. I downloaded the APK directly from the Samsung Apps site and it shows the same error. I don't really need it for anything but it would still be nice to get it fixed.
